Going back to school is a major decision that I’ve made. I have given it plenty of thoughts, do some research about the schools and soul searching. I took a great deal of consideration to my age and understand the impact it will do with my life, my family’s life. I list down the sacrifices I need to sort out to give my 100 percent to pull through this course. I choose to be a nurse not for a job, but more of a calling. I’ve worked in different jobs, but the hunger of being a nurse is always there. Now I’m currently studying “Access to Nursing” to give myself the required points that I need to proceed to study at your university
I cannot weigh the importance of able to take this course moreover, I know that studying at the university that I choose will even make it a remarkable journey to take. Carrying out some research about your school, the facilities inside the campus, the school community, and the overall environment consequently are all up to my expectation of a decent school. My experience and skills and notwithstanding the total commitment that I will graduate and be a qualified nurse are the things that I will bring as I apply for a place in your school.

I became the head of the family. Being out of school did not stop me from learning, I took a number of brief courses while working to gain some skills. I gained a certificate in Microsoft Office and also from a Legal Secretary course. I managed to work in marketing and customer service that has no relation to nursing, but the skills I learned from my experience can be of used later in my course, like collecting data, doing administrative work and mainly listening to my client of what they need. Having to work in a diverse environment gave me the chance to understand different cultures and traditions that in a way affects the person's perception in
Soon after, I received my licensure and began working at The Queen's Medical Center as a Registered Nurse (RN) in early part of 1994. Since becoming a RN, I have provided care to a great deal of patients and reassured countless numbers of family members. As a RN, I've also become the coordinator of care, patient advocate, and teacher to the patients I cared for while serving as the eyes and the ears of the physicians. As with any human, I enjoyed sharing the laughter with my patient and cringed at site of their pain and despair. For these reasons, I believe that being a RN is a great career choice for me. However, for these same reasons, I still feel that I am not a complete nurse; hence I've decided to go back to school and try to earn my Bachelor in Science Degree in Nursing
Over the course of the past four years, I can thank Orange High School for making an immensely positive impact on my life. I have made a wealth of incredible memories, endured numerous challenging obstacles, and formed deep relationships with a number of my peers, teachers, and faculty members that will last a lifetime. The benefits from my time as a Panther will undoubtedly carry with me forever.
In conclusion, as a smart, responsible, and courageous woman I would love to attend UAB. However, I know that it will take a lot of hard work to become a registered Nurse. Being a part of your college would give me the opportunity to help others in the future. On the other hand, I know there may be some obstacles but I am willing to overcome them. Also, I know that it will take hard work and patience and hard work to become a Registered Nurse. Remaining focused throughout the years I am willing to do whatever it takes to
My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as finding new ones. I have been very involved in my high school, and have been lucky enough to be a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life would be a lot different. I have been an active drama club member, a part of ‘Bottlecappers,’ a club advocating anti-drug, alcohol, and bullying to younger students in my district, and many other community service opportunities. I am lucky to have the opportunity to be in these activities, as they have shaped me to be the young adult I am today.
Deciding to go back to school is one of the best decisions I have ever made; however, with four children and full time employment, I initially wondered how I was going to accomplish it. It has not been easy, but I have enjoyed the ride. What I have learnt doing the RN-BSN program has enabled me to be a better nurse than I was (though I have always considered myself excellent in assessing, diagnosing, intervening and evaluating my patients). I am ready and excited for the next stage in my career, being an Advanced Practice Nurse.
My love for nursing began early in my life; in high school, my continuing desire to become a nurse resulted in my applying and being accepted to Midwestern State University. There, I received a BSN and became a registered nurse. My experience at Midwestern prepared me for a successful career by instilling confidence within me as I joined the workforce. As my experience grew and years went by, I became eager to further my education and pursue my master's degree. Then life happened: the two-legged version that requires love, compassion, energy, and time. Now that my child is in school, with the support of my family, I am ready and dedicated to become a family nurse practitioner.
Personal Statement I have been always goal oriented, upon my arrival to the United State of America, my first attempt to be enrolled into college, but due to my visa status I was not able to do that. My experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant on a Cardiology and Dementia Units of the hospital has shown me the many different aspects of working in the medical field. I have been able to come in contact with a variety of patients, with different purpose of life story. As I connected with some of the patients, I got the positive difference which I was making in their life.
Luckily for me, my husband is also a Registered Nurse and we both share the same passion for the profession. He is very understanding and we have been able to help each other out professionally and in school. When we passed the Board exam, we decided to take a break from school and enjoy our achievements. However, I knew that in this demanding world I needed to continue my education. Next step was the completion of my Bachelor’s degree in nursing. This part was a great sacrifice for me because while enrolled in the program I became pregnant with my first son. I wanted to finish so hard that I decided not to take a break and took my last three classes while taking care of my
I have an Associate Degree in nursing from Queensborough Community College. I had a Bachelor in Environmental Engineering already and I was looking for the fastest and most inexpensive way to become a nurse when I started the nursing program at Queensborough Community College. When I graduated from the nursing school, I thought that ADN would be enough to be a nurse and I could start working as soon as I got the license. Soon after passing the board, I started realized that it was very hard to find any job as a newly graduated nurse with ADN. I got pieces of advice from professors and decided to go to Molloy College to study Family Nurse Practitioner. After three courses there, even though it would be the fastest way to be an FNP with other Bachelor degree, I realized that I had no experience to share in as a nurse. I sat down and seriously thought about what I like to do.
During my life I was taught education is important to make it in today’s society. So because of that I went to school for C.N.A. (Certified Nursing Assistant) straight out of high school in 1992. After working in this field for a couple years I decided that this field wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I then decided to work in the Customer Service field with varies companies like BellSouth in the repair department and Carnival Cruise Line in the reservation department. In June of 2003, I took a break to have my third daughter that was premature. After being out of work for about two years I decided to go back to school. I enrolled in University of Phoenix to study Healthcare Administration. After completing the degree in Healthcare
This study analyzes the experiences of registered nurses who return to school to achieve their
Excelling in everything I do is a goal that I strive for no matter what it is I’m doing. I have worked so hard for everything I’ve achieved throughout my four years of high school, and have been accepted into the Naval Academy Preparatory School because of that determination. Being one step closer to an appointment to the United States Naval Academy has not only kept my eye on the prize, but has also pushed me harder to keep doing my absolute best.
If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I will have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there. I feel the Suffolk University can lay the groundwork for making these dreams into reality.
I loved what I did but wanted to do more. Then later on my husband got a very well paying job, the kids grew up a bit and I began to think I could go back to school, become a nurse, do more professionally and earn better pay doing it. Then I found Sumner, Yes, I would go back. I had to pass another test. The TEAS test. I wondered if I could do it. It had been two years since I finished school. I bought the study guide, studied hard the way that I know works for me. The TEAS test would be my sign if I could handle the work of a nursing program. I passed it, in the 89th Percentile on the first
The idea of returning to school to master new skills to compete in the workplace is an excellent goal for any working adult. However, it is important for the working adult to understand success is base upon the journey taken and the path chosen by someone. One must realize there will be many barriers and difficulties along the way; however, with dedication, ability to prioritize, and motivation to stay focus, I will succeed and graduate with my Master degree in Nursing in October 2017. For me to be successful in achieving this goal, there are different pathways that I must chose and followed. These are assessing my learning styles, finding ways to manage my time, money, and stress, and setting S.M.A.R.T goals.
