Hiring Process The hiring process is a long and tiring one for most organizations. It starts by posting the jobs, getting a pool of qualified applicants and eventually employing the most qualified out of the pool of applicants. This discussion board is going to look at the recruitment process: internal and external, the selection process and orientation which is after the applicant has been hired.
Recruitment
There are two main types of recruiting. They are internal and external recruiting. Internal recruiting is when applicants who work in the company apply for the jobs.

External recruitment is the process of looking outside of the current employee group to fill open positions in an organization. The following are advantages of external
• External recruits bring new ideas to the organization,
• The person hired can already have the specialized skills and abilities required for the position (Satterlee, 2013, p. 195).
The disadvantages of external recuiting are
• May leave current employees feeling neglected and overlooked,
• The applicant’s true work ethics is unknown,
• The recruitment process is more expensive and takes longer.
Selection
In my opinion, selection is the most important process of the hiring process. According to Dunlap and Girvin (2010), “good employees can the key to your success” (p. 14). The ability to identify the best candidate for a job can the success of the organization. Bagul (2014) states
