Hiring Process The hiring process is a long and tiring one for most organizations. It starts by posting the jobs, getting a pool of qualified applicants and eventually employing the most qualified out of the pool of applicants. This discussion board is going to look at the recruitment process: internal and external, the selection process and orientation which is after the applicant has been hired.
Recruitment
There are two main types of recruiting. They are internal and external recruiting. Internal recruiting is when applicants who work in the company apply for the jobs.

• The applicant’s true work ethics is unknown,
• The recruitment process is more expensive and takes longer.
Selection
In my opinion, selection is the most important process of the hiring process. According to Dunlap and Girvin (2010), “good employees can the key to your success” (p. 14). The ability to identify the best candidate for a job can the success of the organization. Bagul (2014) states
Recruitment is the process of attracting, screening and hiring people or a person for a job. The attracting process of recruitment is where the business advertises the available job vacancies for a period of time. Once the deadline of the advertisement has arrived, the business collects up all the CV’s from the applicants and they are all checked off against the person specification. This is where the applications are selected by the business, the selected applications are then invite by the business for an interview and from there they are able to decide whether they are suited for the job.
The recruitment and selection process can affect the efficiency and effectiveness of any organisation so it is crucial that the right person is employed for the job. The selection process also involves the image as an employer and its ability to attract quality staff. When an individual is applying for a job, he/she will need to undergo some steps.

The recruitment phase involves identifying and hiring the best suited candidate from the labour market either within the organisation or outside the organisation as fast as possible and for the least resources. Recruitment can be both internal and external. Internal recruitment involves evaluating existing employees’ skills and determining whether their skills are appropriate for new vacancies within the organisation. External recruitment involves identifying potential candidates outside of the organisation and determining whether they have the relevant skills and/or education to fill a job post (Business Dictionary, 2015).

Selection is the process by which managers and others use specific instruments to choose from a pool of applicants a person or persons’ most likely to succeed in the job or jobs given management goals and legal requirements.(ukcbc.ac.uk).
The recruitment process is multifaceted. Recruitment begins from the time an organization or human resources manager must determine a recruitment plan. A recruitment plan must include the avenues in which recruitment will be pursued. The recruitment process also includes shortlisting any qualified candidates from the responses, and the entire interview process (including multiple rounds of interviews). This aspect of human resources management is all about attracting the best and the brightest of candidates, convincing them that the organization is the best fit for their career aspirations, and capturing or finally hiring the candidate. This process is not only intended to fill a vacant position, but to also help build the strength of the organization overall.
If internal recruitment is not an option / has been unsuccessful, companies will the need to advertise to a wider audience. An employer will need to decide which method of recruitment is most suitable for the role and organisation. Recruitment and selection process held an important role for building a strong sales force performance. This process requires the company to invest through human capital as an important resource. The objective of this process is searching for qualified candidates to fulfil the right positions and hopes that they can make long-run returns for the company.
