Introduction ShowTime events Pty Ltd is a small to medium enterprise that has grown rapidly over the past 12 months. They have demanded a full investigation on their workplace management systems. ShowTime events have subsequently outgrown some of their information management practices, total system managements have identified four areas that need attention. These four areas are: The organisation has a number of branches and each branch is individually responsible for its own marketing, clients and accounts. However, information is transferred from branch to branch when similar events are organised. One branch has recently moved to a bigger building to obtain more space for storage of files. Staff have been accessing files through the use of other staff’s computers. To save other employees from having to log on. ShowTime Events frequently have a large volume of mail-outs of advertising material. The overflow of work is completed by engaging temporary staff, often inexperienced, from a local employment agency. One temporary employee recently deleted, by accident, an important document from the computer. The changeover to a new version of a software package last year resulted in the loss of a number of files on the computer hard drive. These files are irrecoverable. The essential meaning of accountability is a process or mechanism of which actors are obliged to explain and to justify their conduct through institutional relations or arrangements, whereby they might face “consequences.” Actors can be either individuals, e.g. official, or an organization, such as public institution. To be accountable, an actor should be able to clarify and vindicate its policy in front of a forum that could also be an individual or an institution. The forum, then, can query for explanations and deliver findings. Principles of accountability and its mechanisms are often provided in the Constitution and other domestic regulations.

Accountability is “the obligation of an individual or organization to account for its activities, accept responsibility for them, and to disclose the results in a transparent manner” (Jennings, 2014). Accountability is essential to establish a successful healthcare organization. To ensure accountability, all team members have to understand their roles and responsibilities in the organization. Table 2 and table 3 clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of each team member. At every weekly project meeting, accountability will be discussed between all team members. Expectations will be set and goals will be reviewed to ensure all deadlines and objectives are being met. The progress of the project will be tracked and every team member will receive feedback on their progress. The team will have a mutual focus, all decisions will be made with the best interest of telemedicine and everyone will be collectively responsible for performance.

Influencing individual behavior is complex, and the Triangle model and the linkages provide a framework for understanding and inciting change within an organization and in turn ensuring that employees have “felt responsibility.”

The help desk is part of the group assigned to Doug Smith, the manager of office automation. The help desk has produced very low quality work for the past several months. Smith has access to the passwords for each of the help desk members’ computer accounts.
