Theodore Roosevelt was only 43 when he became president. He was the 26th president. His term went from 1905 - 1909. The US had never had a president so young. He was given the Nobel Peace Prize and when he left office he took an African Safari. He was also shot after he left office trying to campaign in Wisconsin. He survived the gunshot.

After reading over my information and locating articles t help me understand what these two men life in the office was like, I came to realize that Theodore Roosevelt was a person who wasn’t afraid to get involved in the wars and fight for his people what was right. Wilson was a more educated person a man that was more for the federal government. Woodrow Wilson belief was more for the economy and making sure that the American people was being treated fairly and the business was not being corrupted. In my opinion, I think that these two presidents was and should be considered the best president during the 20th century all because they fought for their people and made sure that the vompleted their duties while in office.

Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt were two of America’s great presidents. This is why I feel that both men were equally important in what they did and said they would do. Both in their own ways have added a little of what makes this country what it is today. Both had their own beliefs of how reform, empowerment of the people and foreign policy should be accomplished. Prior to this period, Americans had to suffer through poor working conditions, low wages, social and class inequality and become victims to large corporations that took advantage of the people. In particular, the administrations of Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson established the key principles and ideas of economic reform and social reform, which would end up returning the power from the manipulative corporations back to the government, establishing a model for a more active role for the federal government, and improve the lives of Americans. However, even though Roosevelt and Wilson had similar intentions of reforming America, they both had different means of achieving it.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt and President William Clinton had similar and contrasting viewpoints on domestic policy. Both presidents took office which there was an economic struggle and unemployment was low. Also, the unemployment rate was declining, business’s were going bankrupt and an international crisis they had to deal with to maintain free trade. President Roosevelt had the more severe circumstances with the Great Depression that occurred because of the Stock Market crash in 1929, and fighting a two front in World War II. When President Roosevelt took office, the unemployment rate was 25 %, which is historically the worst depression in history.
