Education in our society is a very important factor in shaping our future. One’s future is depended on the education they receive and everyone is somehow affected by this. Children from the ages of kindergarteners to seniors in high school, college graduates, and stay at home mothers, are all shaped by the education the government provides us. There are many different ways to acquire an education some through private schools, public, charter, and being homeschooled. However, homeschooling is growing more in popularity than it has ever been.
c. As a teacher, will you ever consider that what you teach may be wrong? On what basis will you evaluate the accuracy of what you teach?
Nowadays homeschooling is an activity that have become more popular in United States. In homeschooling parents teach many subjects at home, instead of taking their children to the traditional classrooms with more children. In my point of view I have two reasons to be against homeschool children; these two reasons are the next:
a. “By educating me at home, my parents were able to give me individualized attention without the usual distractions that kids in regular school experience, like dating and friendship. Not to mention that traditional school can be dangerous. I’ve heard about kids catching the flu and chicken pox, even Judaism.
"Parents of 136 homeschooled elementary children completed questionnaires assessing constructs derived from the parental involvement literature and personal beliefs identified in the homeschooling literature as important to parents’ decisions to home school. Results suggest that home-schooling parents appear to be motivated by an active role construction, strong sense of efficacy for helping the child learn, and positive perceptions of life context"(1). This shows that parents who choose to home school are very motivated to allow their children to succeed as best they can, also that they would want their children to learn every
3. This could put the parent in an awkward place because they may not understand the concept themselves and the student believes that they cannot figure it out.
Homeschooling is not a new concept to the United States, and for many centuries it was the only way for children to get an education. Many of our founding fathers were homeschooled, proving there is nothing wrong with homeschooling, and to this day it continues to provide children with an adequate education. Many parents believe that public school is satisfactory. However, they feel that homeschooling is a better option because it provides a safer environment for their children and more conducive to learning. Homeschooling is an effective method of education as homeschooled students continue to score high marks on national tests, interact socially with other students in all kinds of activities, achieve success in college, and become
As we know, homeschooling rates are rising as the years go on. Researchers Martin-Chang, Gould and Meuse exclaim that there are currently more than 1.5 billion children being homeschooled in the United States alone, taken from the National Center
There truly is no place like one’s home. Confucius said, “The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home.” The knowledge one gains at home, technically a child 's first classroom, is the knowledge one will carry with them for the rest of their lives. This is why homeschooling is the best education for the modern generation. As the value on knowledge increases, making a decision on a child’s educational behalf, in order to give them the best possible future, continues on with complexity. There’s a variety of answers when trying to solve the problem of education, but many argue that public schooling is the correct answer. Yet one must consider is the most obvious solution best? The benefits associated with home education
There are several different ways parents choose to educate their children. For example, parents can send their child to a public or private school, have their child take online classes, or they may choose to homeschool their child.
Throughout a child’s life of public schooling, they have a vast variety of social interactions with other students and their teachers, but despite what many peers believe about the interactions in homeschooling, they too have the same and even more as those in public schooling. According to Koehler, studies have shown that the, “homeschooled population demonstrated above average of overall social skills,” (Koehler 4). Because homeschoolers do not get the same advantages as public schooling, they gain a wide variety of socialization throughout experiences offered at church groups, playing at parks, joining outside clubs or organizations, and tutoring groups. By
Homeschooling can offer many advantages those who choose this path. It offers parents many types of freedoms that they wouldn’t otherwise have. It gives parents the freedom to choose what curriculum their child uses, even
Every education system put in place by the government will offer an excellent opportunity for young children to learn new skill and information as well as discovering their interest and unique qualities. There is no doubt that children are talented. Therefore, we need to support them as they grow up (Ray, 2015). There is no significant difference between homeschooling and the public schools, charter schools, private schools and all other models as each has pros and cons. Homeschooling is a progressive system around the country and the world in general, where parents conclude to educate their kids at home instead of taking them to a public and private school. Most parents chose to homeschool their young kids for various reasons including being dissatisfied with the current education system, religious beliefs, and different educational philosophies. However, whether or not the child is taken to a public, private school or homeschooled the most important thing is the achievement at the end of the day.
