Coco Chanel is the most influential fashion designer of all time. Over fifty years, Coco Chanel was considered to be the "Grande Mademoiselle" of the fashion and society scene. She was the fashion icon of the 20th century, she revolutionised the way women wore clothes. After losing her mom and being put in a foster care, she was taught how to sew. Once she got older she became a singer and opened her first clothing store. Her career began in 1909, when she first gained projection in France during World War I when she developed the "working costume" for women who took over the jobs of fighting men. Chanel’s styles began with simple jersey dresses and black fabric. She never let anyone get in the way of her dreams, raised by a bunch of nuns, she learned all the things she needed for when she got older. She put everything she learned into her fashion. Doing this has helped her change the way women have dressed. If it wasn't for Coco there's no telling what women would be wearing right now. She has inspired other people to be themselves and also has helped other men and women who want to design, inspiring them to design what they like and enjoy. Showing people that the last thing they need to worry about is what other people think of them. She makes sure to put of that she wants to inspire her bold ways.
In my opinion i think coco has impacted on how women dress today. Managing to get rid of corsets and tight dresses, she did a great job of what she did. Not even to mention she has her own cosmetic line, along with all the clothing brands and perfumes she's has. Her cosmetic line is very popular for the bold red lipstick, as people who reference that to it. Coco chanel is most definitely a influence of her time and
