The way that the picture was made, in relation to the story was key in winning the hearts of the Americans. The story told is depicting confusion on the officer’s part, and they randomly fired on the crowd, not in any particular area. The picture shows that the British were organized, and aimed to kill. Since it is easier to get the story from a picture, the picture was that the troops have a desire to kill the people, shown with the organization. Although Revere was not one of the founding members of the Sons of Liberty, he was still actively involved. He did not partake in the violent protests executed by the Sons of Liberty but used his skills as a silversmith to produce engravings, among other political artifacts. For example, the members of this group “wore special insignia that might have been made by Paul Revere - a silver medal with a Liberty Tree and the words ‘Sons of Liberty’ engraved on its face.” He partook in small ways that still showed his support of the group. Later, when the British parliament repealed the tax, Revere was credited with helping to organize a public celebration.
The American Revolution (1775-1783) was a war between England and the colonies which were settled earlier by the English. There were many factors and events that led to the American Revolution. In 1774, the Liberty Boys, spied on British men and met regularly to give information. Four years after his midnight ride, Paul Revere served as commander of land artillery in the catastrophic Penobscot Expedition of 1779. Paul Revere is usually most remembered for his horsemanship. He is also known for his contributions from his hammer and chisel. His ability to appeal to the colonial people through works of his copper engravings demonstrated the power of propaganda. After the War, Revere increased his business to open an iron foundry at the North End of Boston making utilitarian cast iron products that were useful and widely purchased by the local people. He also opened a copper mill which made bells for churches and rolled copper for the hulls of wooden ships. All of this demonstrated that Paul Revere was a man of great talents, and was therefore indispensable to Boston’s fame in resisting the authority of the British Parliament and King George III. Paul Revere did not gain immediate fame for his April 1775 Midnight Ride. In fact, it wasn't until Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's 1861 poem, which greatly abolished Revere's act, that he became the folk hero we think of
Paul Revere is the man who made the famous engraving. It is not certain that he was at the massacre, but some think that he was. I think that he was there, because if he wasn’t there then how did he make the engraving. I can see where people can think that he wasn’t there though. He could have just drawn the people and put the background of the scene on the engraving.

This huge period of history set into motion greater changes in American life and created a country, demonstrating just how this revolutionary age in time more than earned its name. This battle of independence waged by the American colonies against Britain influenced political ideas and revolutions around the globe, as a young, largely divided nation won its freedom from the greatest military force of its time.
