Literacy History Essay
I have never enjoyed reading or writing, I mean, unless it’s for pizza or a prize. Which is usually the only time I would read a book. Writing on the other hand, I enjoy a little bit more than reading. I usually do pretty good with essays. I wish I could find a way to like reading. I see some people read all the time and I automatically assume they’re smart so it would be cool to like reading and people assuming I am smart too. I also get told that reading makes you smarter and I definitely need that. When I was a child, my grandmother use to read to me when I would stay the night with her. I always loved that. Every time she would get me a new book I would be so excited and wanted to read it immediately. I really wish I was still like that but unfortunately I am not. If we have to read a book in class I do absolutely anything to avoid it. I try to do anything I can to get out of it. But I never get out of it and just end up failing every assignment

I really enjoy writing about my own opinion. In my 8th grade English class we had something called “Daily Journal” my English teacher would give us a question to answer and we would write a paragraph on what we thought about it. I really did enjoy doing that, I also wish we still did something like that in one of my classes this year. I really enjoy getting to state my opinion on things. Even if my opinion does not matter to anyone I still like to write it down.
Writing makes me feel like I am talking to someone that is always listening. Getting to write down my thoughts is like talking to my future self. For example, I do like writing journal entries because I can go back and read it later in life. Just one short paragraph can explain how I felt at that time and what was going on. It also shows your improvement. Going back and looking at my old writings give me a pretty good idea of how much better I have gotten at
Writing about a topic you like is what makes writing enjoyable. In fact, writing is an act of creativity and it can be very enjoyable. What I enjoy about writing is seeing the world differently and mostly being immersed in the world I've created, and all about creating my own believable world and characters. Writing is the art of discovering what I believe in. Playing what is in my mind on paper, and sharing this knowledge with people. In my opinion writing is the best communication rather than speaking. I personally have a hate/love relationship with writing. I have a lack of
I enjoy writing when I am writing something that I somthing I find interesting. Such as Motocross, fiction, and sometimes non-fiction. The best thing I have written is probably when me and my friends were talking to each other on the weekend through Google Docs. We decided to make a story it went on for house commenting on our scary but pretty cool story. No all the things that I can remember for writing were pretty interesting.I learn all of the three types of ways. Hands on, with my ears, and eyes. Sometimes I like to talk it out but also sometimes I like to sit back at my seat and listen to whoever is talking.
I will give you some background concerning my great love for reading. Back in the third grade our reading class would always read books independently and take online quizzes that corresponded to the book, I would never take the time to read the book so I always received unpleasant grades for the assignments. When I was younger reading did not interest me by any means, therefore I would always skim over the text or in many instances not read the book at all. I found no enthusiasm in reading mainly because of the stillness and silence that surrounded the activity. I was a kid that had a lot of energy and disliked to be still and focused for reading time.
Many writers enjoy putting their voice on paper. As a writer, I have always enjoyed knowing that I do not have to speak aloud for people to know what I want to say. Everyone who writes has his or hers strengths and weaknesses, some different from others. I like to read other peoples’ works and know that what they're talking about is familiar to me. Also, I enjoy being able to relate to someone else's experiences or opinions, finding something I have in common with someone else helps me get through their paper easier.
Writing has always been a passion of mine. I love sitting and putting my thoughts on paper. I make lists, write God letters, send people cards, and pour my thoughts and feelings out through the scribble of a pen. Since I love to write, I am always encouraging my grandkids to write as well. I have found that journaling is a great way for us to spend time together sharing ideas. It also gives me a chance to learn what they are thinking and feeling.
Reasons why i like writing, writing can be very resourceful it goes hand in hand with reading thats why whenever i read i always try to write and it helps with comprehension.
Writing plays a very important role in life because it is a common method for people to express their words and feelings. I love writing because sometimes messages expressed in a written form can be way more powerful than in an oral form. For example my grandma that’s live in India always writes me letters about her life over there and how she misses me. I can’t even explain the feeling of happiness I get when I read those letters because it makes me feel like I am right there with her with the amount of details and word choices she uses. My personal writing life can be described as average, I am not the worst writer nor the best. My writing has defiantly grown and developed throughout high school with the help of my amazing English teachers.
I write because it's the one thing that's by me for me because of me. Writing is like my alter ego. It comes from my imagination, it grows with my imagination, it experiences my heartaches and my losses. It thrives with me through the good and the bad. And it matures through and with me as come into myself and the person who I want to be. It is my emotion, my pain, my happiness, my embarrassment, my love, my feelings each and every one of them wrapped up into this phrase, this stanza, this paragraph, this paper, and it might not be everything but it is a part of it. Everything I experience, everything I touch, taste, smell, feel inside and out, it experiences it with me so then in a way my writing knows me better than anyone else should because
Next, I was journal writing in school when I was in grade school. The teachers had the students writing in a journal every day. I remember the times when I use to get excited about journal writing and most of the time the teacher slowed us to write about anything that came to mind. I use to write about my family and my friends also about my everyday life. When I wrote at school the teachers use to tell me “Jackie you can stop writing now, your time is up.” It was getting to the point where when I wrote something I could not stop writing. I would get carried away. I love to express my feelings when I am writing something. I am the kind of person where writing is easier to express myself then talking things out. When I talk to people sometimes I freeze. I begin to think about whether people notice me stutter, or if I will say something wrong. When I am writing I just write then I let other readers read what I have wrote. So I feel more open when I write and it also helps my express my opinions. This empties the mind, allowing allocation of precious resources to problem-solving rather than problem-storing (Mires).
I began to write because writing is something I find comfort in doing. It helps me to openly spill out all of my thoughts on a piece of paper, so I wrote all the thoughts that came to
From writing to freeskiing, I’ve fallen in love with activities that allow me to exercise my creativity. I grew into my first love, writing, slowly and with great effort. My first drafts have never been exceptional, or even remotely passable, but I loved the way I could track the evolution of my work from first to final draft and how small changes in word choice could shift the tone of an entire essay. Writing allows me to clear my head and keep thoughts that would normally lead to anxiety in a separate space for safekeeping. I often conduct thought experiments or research things that are on my mind and process them through different pieces like news articles, spec scripts and short stories. Being able to pour most of my more inventive and emotional thoughts onto paper allows me to think more rationally and logically in general, without sacrificing my emotional intuition because I’ve squeezed the excess into different written scenarios.
As you can see, reading is not on the list of my favorite things to do. I have never enjoyed reading and I probably never will. Although it is something I would like to take up as a hobby, I never find myself having very much time to read. Reading is very time consuming and I like to do lots of fun activities like swimming, spending time with friends, and playing with my
Writing helped me get all of my thoughts down before constructing my essays. In my years at high school, I've always needed to write my rough draft before typing it because I felted that this was a better way for me to get all the details down before I lose my train of thought. But, now there are other ways that I have met that I believe will
I have learned many things throughout the entirety of my life, definitely including writing, reading, and speaking. When I was much younger, I used to hate writing, I thought it was irrelevant because we could just talk to express ourselves. I was, most definitely, completely wrong about that, and I have changed. I love to write because it’s an amazing way to express myself, what I love doing and talking about, and what I hate doing and talking about.
In my opinion, writing is defined as fun, a way to be creative and a way to help me clear my mind. It allows me to express my own individuality. Writing may be known as a bore to others who cant seem to find their own writing style, but if you have that "gift" of writing it comes easy no matter what subject or topic. That 's where my liking for writing comes in. I 've always been able to take a topic and write about it without any problems. Once my brain gets going, its hard to stop.
