There are many ways that a student can stand out from the rest of the class. These good students are distinguished by their attitude, intellectual skills, consciousness, and achievement.
Attitude is primarily a genuine desire to learn and the will to do hard academic work to achieve understanding. It is also shown by how well you apply yourself even to subjects in which you have little interest and how much you can achieve even when a teacher’s style is not what you are used to. Also attitude can change the way you percieveperceive things

This skill includes the ability to read and understand, intelligent use of resources, mathematical and logical skills, efficient study habits, and the ability to communicate clearly and fluently. Intellectual skills include time management, exam strategies, study strategies, and goal setting.
Consciousness, or awareness, is another helpful aspect of becoming a good student. The good student must be aware of their (agr) surroundings and know what is going on in the world around them. Reading the article Lake and von Baeyer (2005) “Tips for Successful Students”, I realize that most characteristics are necessary for one to succeed as a student in any area of life. For example, one must ask questions and take notes in order to interact with the professor and further their knowledge in a particular subject. These two skills coincide together along with the initiative to achieve a certain stardom. One aspect of learning is never lonesome, though it is possible to be additionally gifted in one region over another.
The things i did to try to be successful was come everyday with the tools that were needed to learn. For example my notebook, calendar and novel everyday.I did pay attention what the teacher had to say and her instructions that were given.I would do my assignments but at some point i would give up on them completely.
The greatest factor in the equation of success is motivation. It does not matter how intelligent or creative a person is if they lack the drive to reach their goals. To be a successful student I need
Practice makes perfect. This statement directly relates to chapter 1 and 2 in “What the Best College Students Do,” by Ken Bain. Throughout the chapters, Bain provides examples of successful people, studies, and tools to support his idea that learning surpasses grades and other awards in the scheme of life. To accomplish the skill of learning, students must possess determination, intrinsic motivation, and a passion.
I was asked to write an essay on what I believed it would take to be a successful student at Post University . I could say that it is perseverance , that if I have a steady pace in adhering to a specific course of action that my outcome will be successful. I could say that determination is the answer ,that by settling on a purpose and not wavering will make myself a successful student. How about the answer being discipline ,think I that may be one of the best so far. Disciplining myself to stay the course to concentrate on the path. Train myself to adhere to a strict regiment , this is sure to provide me the a successful outcome .
To enjoy academic success, you must consistently exhibit qualities such as perseverance, diligence, and tenacity; both in and outside of the classroom. When you are inside of a classroom, it is of utmost importance to grant your teacher your full attention. Even the most brilliant of minds find difficulty in achieving success if they do not adhere themselves to actively attempting to learn material that is covered in their classes. Contrary to popular belief, being a ‘genius’ is not required to have good grades. Anyone of average intelligence can achieve classroom success through perseverance and work ethic, although there is truth in the assumption that obtaining stellar grades may be more effortless for those with higher levels of intelligence.
What makes a student a good student? Typically we may think about a book worm stuck away studying in the dark as the “A+” standard. However, is that really what it takes to prosper in education? I believe that being an educated and intelligent person goes beyond book work and requires oneself to be sociable, confident, accepting, and prepared to face challenges. Recently in my senior year I have learned more about myself, and looking at one event in particular, realized how my ability to break a racial divide has prepared me for life after high school.
In the course the class went over the characteristics of successful students and struggling students. The first thing of a successful student that influenced me, was accepting personal responsibility. A person has to see themselves as the cause their outcomes and experiences. If someone sees themselves as a victim, success most likely will never come to them. Employing interdependence I learned is another important characteristic of a successful student. In college a person has to build mutually supportive relationships to help them achieve their goals. People who refuse assistance from others who could help most likely will have a difficult time achieving success. The most important thing I learned of a successful student was self-management. A person has to plan and manage their time wisely
Consider the role of attitude in learning, and the impact of subject norms, self-efficacy, fear, and social influence in behavior. Provide a specific example of how a person’s attitude has influenced their behavior and learning.
I was reading Lake and von Baeyer’s article on “Tips for Successful Students”. As I was reviewing the characteristics of a successful student, I noticed that I have several of these characteristics, for example, I have an educational goal because I want to be able to help doctors cure unhealthy patients, attend to the patient's needs and comfort. My presence being in the classroom means that I am closer to being able to accomplish what I have always wanted to do since I was a little child. There is no better place I would ever want to be than to be in the classroom accomplishing my goal. I am also good at managing time. Although I have two kids, school is in my top 5 priorities. I am able to take time from my other responsibilities to focus
The result of having a positive attitude is shown by your emotions. In Dear Miss Breed: Louise Ogawa doesn’t know where she was going, but she had a positive attitude by saying “One of the most beautiful scenery was when

However, I tried to think about positive ways that I can learn many things, and I can make friends from other countries. After that, I listened to lecture hardly, and I tried to put more effort into my study. Eventually, I got better grade and successfully adapted
To be able to become academically successful, a person needs to be dedicated to the courses taken and put forth the time and effort beyond what is expected to complete the course. There are numerous components to being a good learner and also a good thinker. The following are just some of the assets of a good learner. However, it must be noted that what may be a good quality for one individual may not be as effective for another. Good learners most of the time have a drive for a higher and greater understanding of things. One of the key components of a good learner is that they will realize that in many instances, learning is not always a spontaneous event, but something that is realized over a period of time. Good learners also tend to make knowledge their own. It’s not always enough to just take in new knowledge. It has to make sense, to connect in meaningful ways with what the learner already knows. They are excellent listeners for the most part. Good learners also share what they’ve learned and like to build upon it.
Creativity, critical thinking, ethical discussion and cultural awareness are fundamental skills to succeed in training students for the 21st century (Section 1, Page 38).
