What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is being used as a significant tool in the application of psychotherapy. Hypnosis is seen as a healing tool and efforts in the process are being made to apply the hypnotic state. However, from the point of view of emphasizing the interpersonal elements connected with hypnosis it may be visualized as encompassing varied terms and tools that embody common denominator of accepting the fact that people normally have more capabilities than they consciously realize. The APA's Division of Psychological Hypnosis pointed out that hypnosis, like psychoanalysis itself is not a therapy. Rather it is a process that can be applied to assist the therapy. (Yapko, 2001)
