Soccer is a popular sport that is played all around the world. People from South America and other parts of the globe call this sport football. This game requires sports equipment, rules that need to be acknowledged, and each player obtains an assigned position. I was a part of Maine East freshman soccer team for a year. Not only is the sport exciting to play, but it is also interesting to watch the World Cup.

Soccer is a sport that is highly driven and highly defined by fans culture. It combines so many positive attributes into one activity. It’s a sport that is available to everybody, regarding the player’s status in society. I become soccer fan at a young age. I started playing soccer at the age of eight years and because of the financial limitation I used to play with a soccer ball made out of rags. We would go around the city, my friends and I, looking for these rags to make a good soccer ball. We would play with these balls of rags on the dusty play grounds all day and not even go home to eat. For these reasons, soccer has had a huge impact in my life. I am a huge soccer fan. Soccer is a game based on teamwork and relationships. In order to win, you need team strategy, and personal style while working closely as a team. Most people call it a “beautiful game” because of its unique skills of creativity. In football, scoring is what is important but when it comes to soccer, smartness and creativity are as important as scoring. It’s a sport that you need to be actively focused mentally and physically. You need to be able to pick up your pace of the play, make a quick decision, and execute the pass. These are the things that makes soccer unique sport.

Soccer always been a great part of my life. I play it since, I was three years old. My greatest moment was the final game of the district tournament. I started playing soccer when I was five years old. My position was goalie for the majority of my soccer career. As a goalie, you had to dive to get the ball when it was being shot in the right or left corner. I always looked forward to someone shooting there; I enjoyed having to dive for the ball. I loved soccer but it put a strain on my body being out in the heat for sometime up to seven hours a day when we were playing in tournaments. With the heat taking a toll on my body, I began to look into other sports.
