It is famous for the surrounding Echo Wall, and also the Three Echo Stones and the Dialogue Stone, which are all utilizing the theory of sound wave, showing the intelligence of constructions. The Ganges River is considered a holy river and many Hindu saints have bathed in the holy water of the river, which is believed to grant you Moksha, release from reincarnation, or the cycle of birth and death. The temple is commonly known as “Temple of the Golden Pavilion” because of the pavilion’s striking top floors. Kinkaku-ji is made up of three floors. All of them structured differently. The building is called the Golden Pavilion because the two top stories are covered in golf leaf. The gold is not the only imposing detail. In front of the temple there is an impressive large pond that reflects Kinkaku-ji. Due to the
It is surrounded by a 200m moat and would have been used to keep the foundation of the temple stable, keeping groundwater from coming too high or going too low. The main entrance of the Angkor Wat was to the west, and it was very grand, made of stone with “guardian” lions marking the way (because the west was associated with the Hindu god Vishnu). At the east was a second entrance that was more modest and was believed to be done with a wooden bridge across the moat (though there is no bridge at the east entrance anymore). In the middle of the temple there was a central tower that was surrounded by a steep staircase with a statue of the god Vishnu at the top. This particular tower used to be the center of the Khmer empire where the king ruled from.
Sikhs pray and connect spiritually to god. Most Sikhs follow instructions from their holy book/ scripture in which specific details on how to worship are addressed. In Sikhism, it is recorded that there are five daily prayer that are recommended to be done but don’t have to be. Unlike Muslims, Sikhs are not restricted to certain times a day to pray to God, nor do they have set out times to worship; rather, they can pray and worship at any time they please do to so. Sikhs also do not have to go to a Gurdwara to worship.
Kanpur is a historical city and is believed to have been founded by members of the Chandela dynasty and formed part of the state of Sachendi. The city's name is believed to derive from Kanhiyapur (from the Hindi meaning "town of Kanhaiya"). During the British era the name got transformed to Cawnpore, and hence the city got its current name KANPUR. As an important city in the Chandela dynasty, the city has a number of places of historical importance. Around the inside of the building were candles, incense, and different statues of what I'm sure were a multitude of separate Hindu deities. Of course, being relatively new to the Hindu gods and goddesses, I wasn't able to identify too many, but I did recognize the remover of obstacles, Ganesh—for what I figure is one rather obvious reason. I could only assume other popular divine figures including lord Vishnu and the mother goddess Devi resided with these other statues.
