The Informative Speech was my first speech that I ever came up with and I wanted the speech to be something memorable for me. I chose to talk about events in my community because my community is important to me. As I consider Mexico my home, I compared the events from my community to the ones in Mexico Guadalajara, Jalisco. I thought the prompt of the speech was easy for the fact that, the prompt was self-explanatory. The outline was also easy to understand because the outline included everything we as students had to do to fully develop the speech. The writing of the speech was easy for me, as I knew what 3 main points, I wanted to write about. The only problem I had with writing my speech was that I did not know how to break each point apart. For example, my three main points were Jaripeo/Charreada, Tequila, and Mariachi, I did not know what to write for each point, I only knew my points. One way that helped me develop my topic was by using ethical public speaking. According to the article “ethics in public speaking” by Alyssa G. Millner and Rachel D. Price state, “Ethical public speaking is a Process. This process begins when you begin brainstorming the topic of your speech” (3). Looking for sources, was a bit challenging at first, as most of them would be in Spanish. At the end the full development of my speech was good, now I just had to begin rehearsing for my deliberation. Now that I finished the speech writing process I began rehearsing. I rehearse with flashcards, and by timing myself. I honestly did better than what I had expected, I got a 94 out of 100. As I was the first one and on the first day to present, I was really nervous. Looking at my Informative Speech video my delivery after all was not so bad. I thought my voice was good, I did not speak too fast nor too slow. Although my voice was good to me, I am aware that I did stutter and would get stuck on what to say next. I did show many nonverbal cues throughout my speech. At first, I began calmly I was not moving my legs, but then I got nervous since everyone was staring and I began shaking my leg, which showed that I was nervous. As I was getting more comfortable at the end, I kind of stop moving, but still continued to move my body around. I

1. This informative speech on “The Cause of Homelessness “is very Inform able and worth listening to, because in today’s economy it could be you or me. Some seem to think homelessness is choice. I find this speech relevant to the world I live in today, due to the high unemployment rate, declining job market, and the economic hardships that families are enduring. This topic is not a broad one, but yet can be spoke of in depth due to the fact I see many homeless people but never thought it would be me until I seen a family friend who has lost everything, this is what made me more aware that it is not just a choice and any day it could be me. So when you see
There is no question that after giving about four speeches, I have become a much better overall public speaker. In the beginning of the semester, I would tend to get nervous during some of my speeches and consequently the delivery of my speech would be greatly affected. If I had made a mistake, my level of nervousness would drastically increase and I wouldn’t know how to correct it. Although today I have improved on these aspects. Normally in order to control my nerves I try to think as positively as possible. This is critical because when I start to think even a little bit negatively then I severely hurt my chances of giving a good speech. Instead today, my main priority is to stay very confident and tell myself that I’m going to perform fine.

In April 2007, Ukraine and Poland were named co-hosts for Euro 2012 tournament. This joint bid, taking into account Ukraine's tough economic condition and administration problems, has become a headache for UEFA President Michel Platini. The matches will be staged at eight venues, divided between the co-host countries. Ukraine is behind the schedule, having problems with modernization of airports, roads, and rail networks. As a co-host country, Poland seems to be doing better than Ukraine. Yet, it also has lots of problems. Platini made it clear that without modern stadiums in capital cities, Warsaw and Kiev, neither Poland nor Ukraine would host Euro-2012.
