The “Patriot” takes place in South Carolina in 1776 during the Revolutionary War. It is a story about a widowed father of seven, named Benjamin Martin. Benjamin was involved in the French and Indian War before marrying and starting a family. He is reluctant to join the conflict as he remembers too well his own experience in the earlier French and Indian War. After his wife passed away he does everything to keep his family together and away from war. He is a patriot who wants no part in a war with Britain.

The American Revolution was a great mark in history because the colonist were striving to get their independence from Great Britain. From seeing many films the revolution was a harsh and emotional time. Many families suffered from the deaths of their husbands and fathers. Soldiers dealt with hunger and bad conditions, but the end it was worth the suffering because America got its independence. The Patriot helped developed the appreciation and understanding of the American Revolution. This movie is adapted from a book named “The master of Disguise” written by Tony Mendez (a former CIA operative) and an article named “The Great Escape: How the CIA Used a Fake Sci-Fi Flick to Rescue Americans from Tehran” written by Joshuah Bearman and was published in Wired magazine in 2007. The movie is filmed upon the story of escape of six American diplomats, who were captured during the seizure of American embassy in Tehran, Iran in 1979. The whole project was named as Canadian Caper after the joint venture of rescue by the Canadian government and Central Intelligence Agency.

These are the people who did not pass the initiation of their faction or were kicked out. They team up with Tris and Tobias in a war with the Erudite. During this process, the real truth comes out. The Erudite leader has valuable information that is said would change the way they all live and look at life if people were to find out about it. The book ends here, and Allegiant, book #3 holds the answer to all of the questions aroused from Insurgent.
