1.0 INTRODUCTION Internet has taken its toll for many years since its birth. It has now become an essential element in everyday’s life. People use internet for managing information, getting connected with many people, sharing files, location, interest and many more. After the revolution of ARPANET, internet is free to use by anyone other than military. It was fixed with wires using home telephone lines. Now, with the recent networking technology which is the wireless technology people are free to use internet without wires and free to use internet within 30-36 meters away with the help of wireless router. For it has its own benefits, wireless also have its bad side. It could test the patience of its own users especially when the …show more content…
Currently there are about 12 wireless access points (AP) that were installed inside KPTM KL. KPTM KL have just replaced new router access point from RUCKUSS that is said can cater about 100 client per AP. Even though new routers have been replaced, recently lots of students have made complain to the Information Technology department inside KPTM KL on the poor performance and the availability of the wireless internet services provided by the college. Therefore, this mini project is to investigate whether the report lodged by students are true or just made up by the students. 2.0 PROBLEM STATEMENT a) Bad performance of wireless internet service in KPTM KL making students hard to do research, collect information for their studies and passing up assignments on time. Sometimes, there is a time when a lecturer gives student task involving research and asking the students to submit the task within specific time. Therefore, within limited time the only fastest resources are by using internet and studentzone wireless service. Therefore, with the bad performance of the wireless service gathering information within limited time is a bit impossible. b) The wireless networks are most of the time unavailable even though ICT fee is paid every semester. As the regular user of the studentzone wireless service in KPTM KL, often the SSID of the studentzone appear on the available Wireless
The use of internet is becoming more and more every day. Even children are using the
Wireless access point can be located in the library. The WAP is used to give wireless accessibility to the internet through the router to where it’s needed.
Student wifi has been a problem for at least a year now, due to the fact that the student population has increased dramatically. Most students doesn’t have a desk top or laptop that they can access course materials from
In the recent years, wireless technologies have taken a new dimension in the ways society lives. Wireless broadband is available to everyone. Whether the users are at home, driving the car, sitting in the park, and it would even work while people are a pleasure boat ride in the middle of a lake. And because of this, the need to have information at any time and be connected in all places, all the time has been satisfied.
The concepts of wireless network security consist of commitment of cyber security and maintaining security based on the latest development and exploits against the network K.W. Ross, J. K. (2012). Wireless Network Security is based on the principles of cryptography, message integrity, authentication, securing e-mails, securing TCP connections: SSL, securing Network layer: IPsec, securing wirelsess: LANs, securing the operational security structure, such as the firewalls and the IDS K.W. Ross, J. K. (2012). This security
The market for wireless communications has experienced incredible growth over recent years and wireless LANs have rapidly become a very
I know technology is so important for a non-traditional student. Cellular phones are not going to get it done. I will utilize the public library in the area. Also, I am right around the corner from McDonalds and Burger King which all have free WiFi. I have a sister in Memphis Tennessee that has WiFi. My church has free WiFi for the community. We live in a world today where everywhere you go now has WiFi restaurants, hotel, and all government and state faculty. I can ask for permission from my supervisor as
Because this is going to incorporate a whole campus there will be a wireless receiver at the top of every building. However we will have them all in together so that way they work as one and a student will be able to access any of them from any location and allow them to transition from one to another with ease. We will also incorporate a repeater on the bottom floor to allow for full building coverage and to extend the network throughout the campus itself. The Only Exception will be for the library and in the library we will have a strict Network that will allow for the students to be able to access specific training material and the library's internal architecture. The equipment itself will be a very good Mount of switches and routers to allow for easy authentication and access. The equipment will be scattered throughout each building and we will ensure that there is proper coverage of the wireless network and proper capability of the staff meeting to be able to handle the amount of devices inside of the
In 1991 wifi was invented, and as the years go on wifi has been developing and changing in the most incredible ways. Wifi has also changed on how we communicate with people, and how we shop for items. As changes come, trouble also comes with it. In recent years, parents have been blaming wifi for the recent problems their children have been facing. The research and studies that have been conducted shows that an increase in wifi access and coverage does not pose a danger to students in
Currently, my teachers use their cell phones to connect to the school’s wireless network during the school day. We are discussing the possibility of our fifth graders bringing their devices on early release days to use in the classrooms. We chose fifth graders because they are older and this would be a pilot, which will provide us with information on how students can handle this
The internet nowadays is an important service in our life and we depend on it in all our aspect in our daily life. When we surf the internet we have some expectations to find anything on the internet and to be connected directly without any barriers and limits in speed or finding your desired contents.
MFTS is in close proximity to Enchanted Distant Shrub CBD; with significant access to wireless internet. The school is located in an affluent area; hence most students are from families with high socio-economic statuses. However, the school’s technology is a little outdated. While it has an Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) in each classroom; there are only two small computer labs, which do not allow for 1-1 computing. The school has one class set (26) of iPads to share. To enable students’ development of 21st century skills and adhere to the QTM (NSW DET 2003), the school wants to extend their technology use, and aims to find out more about BYOD programs.
Ranging from only free access option to overpriced hotspot in a box option. Then we talked about the location of our project in next chapter. We considered a number of locations that we can implement our project and we explained our reason the location we chose. In chapter 8 we talked about all the necessary equipment we need for the project, and the reason. Chapter 9 deals with the design and physical setup of the network, where the next chapter we discussed the issues of configuring routers, our access point. Cpahter 11 and 12 is detailed and visual aided step by step configuration of the ZoneCD and PublicIP respectively. In the following chapter we tested for the accuracy and effectiveness of our project. We concluded our project with personal thought and opinion in the 14th chapter.
In today’s world Internet has become one of the most important mediums of communication. It has become the lifeline of our survival. It has removed the entire social, economic and physical barrier and has immense effect on our day to day activity.
The very fundamental purpose of Internet is to provide an open information framework with few access barriers to information. There are several potential risks associated with the implementation of Internet in the organization. So managers should pay attention to it and avoid it.
