People who are pro-choice believes the privilege to freedom and should have the choice to make their own decisions with what they want to do with their bodies. For instance, a woman is assaulted by a man and winds up pregnant with his kid. She chooses she wouldn't like to keep the baby, so she has a fetus removal in light of the fact that bringing up an offspring of her attacker is excessively agonizing for her. Pro-choice defenders take into account the sensitivities the women may have experienced, while pro-life defenders doesn't understand what she may be going through and consider her to be a
“Pro-Choice or for-Abortion” activists believe in women’s rights, they want to protect the rights of women and what they can do with their own bodies, while those against it “Pro-Lifers or Anti-Abortion”
In our society, abortion has been a controversial topic that has led some people to take sides on the matter. These two opposing sides (pro-life and pro-choice) fight for their moral and political stance of abortion; raising the questions if abortion is morally right or whether it should be made illegal. Pro-choice activists argue that women should have a right to choose abortion and cling to the idea of freedom, whereas
Pro-life supporters believe that human life starts from fertilization or implantation until natural death. From the view of a pro-life advocate and action that destroys an embryo or fetus kills a person, any purposeful destruction of a human life is considered ethically and/or morally wrong. Some advocates of pro-life even oppose abortion of a fetus that would almost certainly die a short time after birth. The pro-life movement is
Pro-Life believe that women should not have the right to have abortions while Pro-Choice believe that women who become pregnant should have the choice to have an abortion. When a survey is done asking Americans if abortions should be legal, illegal, or legal under certain circumstances most people said legal under certain circumstance. “There are variations within each group depending on how liberal or conservative one’s opinions are; some individuals who are pro-life believe that in cases of rape or incest abortion should be allowed, and some pro-choice groups favor waiting periods and other restrictions on abortion” (Arguments for and Against Abortions). Pro-Choice believe that the “fetus is a human being from the moment of conception; this means abortion is murder, which is immoral and should be illegal. While Pro-Life believe that“The fetus is not yet a human being because it cannot survive outside the uterus on its own” (Arguments for and Against
Pro-choice persons view abortion as murder. They view an unborn child as a human with rights to life. They argue that taking a human life living outside the uterus is considered murder, so killing an embryo or fetus, an unborn child, is also murder.
Pro-choice groups, for example, support a woman’s right to choose whether or not to have an abortion. They believe that a fetus is incapable of life during the first trimester when many abortions take place, so, in their opinion’s, it is not murder. They use statistics such as the fact that 88% of women who have abortions get them in their first trimester (Lowen, n.d.), only 8% of women who get abortions do not regularly use contraceptives (Lowen, n.d.), and that there is less than a .5% chance of serious complications occurring during or because of an abortion procedure (Lowen, n.d.). They argue that often times a woman is too scared to speak up or does not know that she even is pregnant after a rape, so abortion may be her last resort. They advocate a woman’s rights to her own body, and use the fact that tax dollars are also used to fund wars, and people oppose those as well, to rebut the argument that tax payer’s money should not be spent on supporting such a sensitive issue. And, tax dollars are necessary in order to make abortion procedures affordable for women who otherwise
Pro-life: may permit abortion if the fetus is confirmed dead within the mother’s womb. This view does not advocate abortion even at the risk of the mother’s health, they believe advancements in medical technology and psychology can save the mother life and the case where the mother’s life cannot be saved, she may have to be
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. Many people believe it is 100% wrong and even consider it to be murder. The definition of abortion is; “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth.” These pro-life believers do not support the idea of abortion and believe it should be illegal. Many of these supporters do not know that if abortion were illegal they would still be performed, unfortunately by an uneducated staff. Over 70 thousand maternal deaths occur every year because of unsafe abortions. These women die, so the idea of supporting pro-life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro-choice.
Pro-choice is for female activists and their beliefs on women taking control of their own body and making their own decisions. The other side of the debate in abortion is pro-life, which is defined as murder, killing an innocent baby which has no say. It has been reported that anti-abortionists relate having an abortion to murdering someone. They believe that a murder is intentional and so is an abortion because you are planning to abort the baby (Currie, 2000,103). Results have shown that people who advocate for Pro-Life primarily are Christian or Catholic members because of the Bible. In the Bible, it does not say directly that abortion is not permitted it makes references to make it clear that God felt very strong about the fact that a fetus or embryo is still considered a human. It suggests that God creates the baby's life well its in the womb and it also says that the same penalty should be giving to someone who causes the death of the child in the womb as to someone who commits murder (Frechet, 2009). As you can see there is two very strong definitive sides to the debate of abortion, both having strong arguments.
People that are pro-choice believe that women should have their own choice as to if they want to have an abortion. An example is if a woman gets raped, and becomes pregnant with the rapist’s childs. So she wants to abort the baby because she doesn’t want deal with the pain of raising her rapist’s child. Now, pro-lifers would call the woman a murderer. While pro-choicers would be on the woman’s side. And what if when a woman gets an abortion, she gets stalked by pro-lifers, calling her a murderer because she aborted her baby?
Abortion rights (or lack thereof) are a contentious issue to discuss, not just in this country but around the world. I am a pro-choice person because I feel that women should have the right to decide what to do with their bodies; equal rights, just like men are able to decide what to do with their own bodies. I have always come from a scientific background both in terms of overall thinking/rationale and in education. To me, the pro-life argument that life begins at conception makes no sense to me. A fertilized egg/fetus is not alive, just like a bacterium is not life.
Pro-life or Pro-choice. Pro-life is being on the side of giving an unborn baby the gift of life. Pro-choice is just the opposite, it is choosing to “reverse” the life that is within the womb. There are various consequences when choosing to follow the procedure of abortion. Many are aware of those consequences as well as many are not, because of this it does affect the choice of the men and women who choose to have this procedure or not or whether it is the right or the wrong thing to do. Like Sollisch (2006) included in his personal experience with abortion “…a mistake that an abortion could reverse but never erase” (p. 2). Sollisch first agreed for his girlfriend to abort but once he got married and his new wife gave him a child he realized why people were against it and understood the meaning of life. While many may think that abortion is not an appropriate way to get out of what they see as a “problem”, many people in both genders do consider abortion as a “problem solver”. Even after all those excuses; there are amounts of other reasons why a person decides if they are with abortion or against it. Whether it is the level of education, the circumstance they are in or the simple fact of being at a young age can also affect the view, depending on the gender.
One of the biggest controversies of all time has been abortion; countless people consider it sinful and even believe it to be murder. The definition of abortion is; “ the premature termination of pregnancy by spontaneous or induced expulsion of a nonviable fetus from the uterus.”(Dictionary.com). These pro-life believers (against open access to abortion) do not support the idea of encouraged abortion and aim for it to be illegal. Many of these supporters do not know that if abortion were illegal an uneducated staffs would still perform them, unfortunately. Approximately 70 thousand motherly deaths occur every year because of dangerous abortions. These women die, so the idea of supporting pro-life is contradictory, this shows why
Being a pro-choice defender means taking sympathies to this woman while she then gets called a murderer by pro-life supporters. Abortions sometimes results in the woman being harassed because of the choice she has made about her own body. That’s what pro-life supports.
Pro-choice supporters on the other hand have been raised in a higher social class where more than likely both parents, but at least the father, have a college degree. They have pursued college and have married mate equal to themselves. They share beliefs with their mates that they are equal beings and want to give their children the best they can. Hence the fact, they would rather not bring a child into the world without being able to fully provide for the child the way they were provided for.
