Is Living a Healthy Lifestyle Expensive? “Ring…ring…ring” my alarm clock interrupted my beauty sleep, it was 8:00 a.m. It was time to start a new day from a new page. The sun was shining down at me as I jogged a mile around the neighborhood park. Enjoying the fresh air and as my breathing hard, I walked back into my house to prepare a healthy breakfast. After enjoying my breakfast which consisted out of oatmeal and freshly picked strawberries, I started preparing my lunch for work. This was the way most of my mornings have started out. Living a healthy lifestyle isn’t expensive, although it requires lots of motivation and time, which most people lack both. Before I go into depths on living a healthy lifestyle I would like to define meaning of the phrase. The article “What is a healthy lifestyle?” by Larry Lewis states that “The World Health Organization (WHO), defines Health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not simply just the absence of disease” (Lewis). So in other words, living in a healthy lifestyle means more than just exercising and eating healthy, but both of these components have a big impact on all three of the states of being complete. Most people consider that being healthy and fit is quite expensive. On some part I do agree with that, organic food, gym passes, aerobic classes, and diet pills can be quite expensive, but there is also other ways people can be in good physical shape.
