Both Junior and Senior Beta Clubs are responsible for various service projects throughout the year in the school and community. In addition to this, the clubs also assist in the running of events held by other groups, teams, and clubs in the school. This year, the Junior Beta club and the Senior Beta Club joined together to assist the school in the collection of Boxtops For Education. In the Senior Beta club, there were some changes in officers throughout the year due to the original officers' absence. The president, Libby Beauchamp, and the vice president, Ashley Spedden, both left the school early in the year. Treasurer Katie Spinler replaced Libby as president, and club member Brooke Batchelor replaced Katie as treasurer. The Junior Beta
I would like to join Beta Club to further my leadership skills and to work with teenagers my age to help fundraise for the needy. It’s important to help out our community locally. This means both actively helping out at different agencies such as soup kitchens and animal shelters, as well as helping to keep our environment clean. By working together, I think we will all be able to reach our goals and will be able to impact our community. Along the way we will help others and gain valuable life skills.
The National Beta Club is about empowering young students and preparing them to become leaders of our nation and, possibly, our world. Everything an individual does during their younger years will help to guide and shape their future as an adult. The National Beta Club strives on providing younger individuals with the tools and knowledge to do just this later on in life.
This club welcomes students with a 3.5 average gpa or higher. Students that involved in their community and that show leadership skills. During the student sophomore year, the student will get an invitation to The Beta Club.
I think I should be in the Junior Honor Society. I have met the requirements to receive this opportunity. I would not let this opportunity to waste. I care for the community and do what ever service to help it out. I help do services for the library when they need it. For example on March 10,2017, I helped make capes for sick kids and then gave them happy birthday cards for the birthday kids. I help out my community by helping people shovel their driveway. Like some of my neighbors can't do it so I ask if I can do it for them for free. I look out for people to make sure they are ok. I am a captain of a football team because of my great leadership skills that can be useful. I put effort and time into my work. Around the house I am a role model
Recently, the Junior Civitan Club held a charter ceremony to officially recognize the club as part of Junior Civitan. This was a very momentous occasion for not only members and sponsors of the club, but for the school as well.
Each year, the National Beta Club sets out to find the most motivated, bright, and involved seniors within the organization. Upon discovering these students, each is named a beta scholar and is rewarded with a scholarship toward pursuing their higher education. The process is highly selective and competitive, with only 256 nationwide being recipients of the honor. This year, Pickens High is proud to announce that one of our own emerges amidst these ranks- Ginny Morris. Through years of hard work and perseverance, Ginny has climbed her way to the top. A salutatorian, senior class secretary, and a Beta Officer, amongst numerous accomplishments, it comes as no surprise that she has earned this prestigious award and scholarship. Congratulations,
National Beta Club is a society of gifted individuals with an array of talents and passions, this esteemed organization has held a deep meaning in the hearts and minds of all contributors. Such as within myself, not only have a felt I have grown in my education but also as a person. Being in this program has given me the resources and the family based team it deemed necessary to develop my skills into what they are today, and with those that I have learned I continue to advance. With these miraculously progressing achievements, and much more Beta Club will succeed to be the base of others education.
Nurses are dependent on by people, because everyone in life needs medication. I chose to do my Senior Capstone Project over becoming a Nurse, because I feel I am the right candidate. Throughout this research paper I would like to introduce many circumstances a Nurse has to go through, and steps it takes to get to where these life changing leaders are today.
My high school years have been filled with many great memories; it is safe to say that I had an enjoyable high school experience. Some of my most unforgettable moments of my high school career have been in Beta Club. In 9th grade, I joined the Beta Club at my school. I joined because I knew that this club was an organization for those who love to serve others, and I know that decision will have a lasting impact on my life as well as on others’ lives. I was elected President of the Beta Club at my school in 11th grade. I led my club of about 40 members throughout the year as we took part in various service activities such as: trash pickup for Adopt a Highway, sponsoring a child for the holidays, and visiting local elementary schools to read
Freshman 101 is a class adapted from the parrot program (Fay & Medway, 2006, p. 226). The parrot program was designed for college students at Cornell University. Freshman 101 is the first of its kind in the state of South Carolina and the first to extend Parrot’s college program to high school freshmen (p. 226). Each two-hour intervention class contained 25 to 30 freshmen students. The objectives of the class were to have participants understand the definition of acquaintance rape and the frequency that it takes place along with South Carolina’s laws regarding rape (p. 226). Students also learned about mixed messages associated with verbal and non-verbal communication and how to clearly state their wants and desires (p. 227). Communication,
Junior High is a scary thought. You are little and going to school with the big kids. It wasn’t to bad after I got used to it.
Sophomore year had ended, and my summer had just begun. After a long wait to gain permission to go on a backpacking trip. My father gave me the approval. I took my love for the outdoors and began to explore it even more.
We all regret some of the choices we’ve had in the beginning of our high school journey. Since we can’t go back and change them, we can always give advice to the incoming freshman who may need our advice. Coming from middle school can be a hard transition because there are so many new things to learn. New students will face a new campus, teachers, friends, and overall a new way of life. I believe that freshman students who struggle to adapt into high school can lead to poor grades, peer pressure, and losing focus of long term goals. Here are some suggestions to help incoming freshman have a successful high school experience.
If I was given the opportunity to join the Beta club I would be the happiest person in the world! I want to join the Beta club because I would meet new people, I would help a lot of people, and I would be caring and have responsibility. If I was to join the Beta club I would take it very seriously. So that way I can work hard. Before I make my decision on being in the Beta club I would think carefully.
During the summer between my sophomore and junior years, I was one of four students selected to represent my school and council at the National Josten’s Renaissance conference in Orlando Florida. My fellow students and I learned a great deal about other schools around the country and we wanted to take some ideas back to our school to implement them. One of our key ideas focused on recognizing various students at our high school that constantly achieve remarkable feats, but largely go unnoticed by the school as a whole. Being vice president of my class, I took charge of this initiative and designed a solution to the problem. I advocated that we replace our typical, mundane, class meetings with class rallies, a pep rally type atmosphere for more
