CHAPTER 1
Problem and its background
Introduction
Many of us believe that in order for a person to achieve success, one must have a good background in education and the attitude of a survivor. A great education begins with the desire to learn. (Osterberg, 2004). Education is important to everybody. It gives knowledge about the world around us, strengthens people in different aspects in life, gives perspectives in life and helps build opinions and have points of view in everything about life. Education is a state responsibility. The national progress of the education depends to the great extent on the productive capacity of its people. The productive efforts of its people are inherent to the individual development of the potentials.

They also worry about the lack of qualified teachers to teach the students; that is made worst with too many students. Books are added dilemma to concern of the schools. Thus, these setbacks made the quality of education in the Philippines worse. In the latter, students were prone to drop out being caused by the mentioned predicaments above. The quality of education is a responsibility of all schools. It implies an upgrading of educational standards, a process that is similar to the attainment of excellence in education as well as in life. (Sutaria, 1984)
We cannot implement it if our only reason for doing so is because our neighbors are doing the same. We simply cannot compare ourselves to them... We can stretch basic education to not just 12 but 25, but if we are not ready for it, it will only blow up in our faces. Let us not try to be what we cannot be at the moment. Hypocrisy and education do not go together. Let us improve the quality of education first. (The Freeman)
K-12 had met criticisms, from youth, student groups, teachers, parents and academic communities. Despite of this, the
Education is closely tied to socioeconomic status, and effective education for children and lifelong learning for adults are key contributors to health and prosperity for individuals, and for the country. Education contributes to health and prosperity by equipping people with knowledge and skills for problem solving, and helps provide a sense of control and mastery over life circumstances. It increases
An education provides people not only with the academic skills required, but also the social skills such as having the self confidence and belief in ones self to achieve a fulfilling and happy life. It is every child’s human right to receive such an education from early years to higher, and therefore several stages in which they must travel for this to happen.
After reading Frank Conroy's "Think About It", it is clear that education play vital role in our life. It is the main tool for us to succeed in life and achieve something different in a competitive world. Education is what help us to know the meaning of difficulty in our life. Whether in a good sense or bad; it helps us to understand why we are in this world. Education not only helps to understand but aware what is it value in our life and why we need it.
Since prior to the 1980’s, the American education system has rapidly declined in all areas. The article, “A Nation at Risk,” written by President Ronald Reagan, depicts the many issues in the U.S. school systems regarding the content, standard and expectations, time, teaching, and leadership and fiscal support. This piece, apparently, has led the country into an extreme educational reform to improve all aspects of our school system. Based on my experiences in high school, student test scores, and current school conditions, I believe that while all issues raised by the commission in the report are not necessarily a problem anymore, issues with student growth.
Another problem that inhabits the educational system is teachers who are unprepared to prepare students for the many standardized test that are given. An example would be that the average teacher in Finland must go through a grueling curriculum in order to become teachers (Schneider, and Christison 30-32). This shows that we lack in preparing our teachers to teach. This of course also leads to unpreparedness from students, to low test grades and a loss of interest. Teachers should become more flexible in the way they teach, allowing creativity and a way for the student to gain feedback from the teacher to want to learn more of the subject (Slon 47-49).
Education is the most vital part of man’s existence. The concept of education started in the ancient days and continues to the modern age. Education has existed before this current age, but modern education has been labeled as the most significant part of any possible profession. This assumption is not making waves in the United States of America only, but in the whole world wide. Despite the unique and distinct languages that exist throughout the world, young and developing minds still seek education and new knowledge as technology keeps changing. Education is the backbone and the platform in which we build and develop our own unique ideas that has become
Malcolm X once said “education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. From adolescence to adulthood almost every person is put through schooling. As one gets older in age, the education they obtain becomes more rigorous in order to stretch their minds far beyond two plus two or what color the sky is. The strategies of critically thinking and being able to analyze/decipher information in front is them is reinforced routinely in the educational system. With this being said, the purpose of education is to aid in enhancing one’s qualification, socialisation, and subjectification skills within the society regardless of how or where one’s education was obtained.
Education is very important in the sense that in today’s society, there is not much success without education. Education allows us to grow and learn intellectually. It gives us the ability to enhance our perception of the world as we see it, and construct our
Education is every people’s learning process in a way of teaching, training ,or discussing between a teacher to student relationship and a parent to child relationship. With education, obtaining ideas, values ,and knowledge is possible. Without education, life can be really tough, professionals wouldn’t exist and understanding would be difficult. However, students
Education is the most important aspect in ones life. Through the development of education, children learn knowledge and
Education can bring these individual talents to the surface. Having these talents developed by the way of the educational system, a person is more likely to become a productive member of society. Without these gifts and talents of individuals, answers in the medical, environmental, and social fields could remain mute and unexplored. Education has the responsibilities to bring out the best in each individual. The needs of society are continually changing. Therefore, education must also continue to change in order to productive responsible members of society.
Education can be defined as a learning process in which a student and a teacher are involved. The work of the teacher is to pass on the message to the student while the student understands and applies what has been taught. It is also considered as a process of developing skills, knowledge and character of an individual. Education, whether formal or informal, has a function both to the individual and the society, these functions are either manifest or latent. There is a distinction between the manifest and latent functions in that the manifest functions are those that are intended whereas the latter are the unintended functions (Douglas, 2003).
Acquiring education is one of the most critical aspects of a person’s life. It should be seen as vital as the air we breathe. The key to a healthy mind and a successful person is learning. “Without education, you’re not going anywhere in this world” is a famous quote by Malcolm X. His quote reiterates that the competitive world makes it essential for us to have a proper education since it will serve as our weapon to conquer the world. Education will help a person grow as an individual because a highly knowledgeable person will have a better grip on handling any problem that comes his or her way. Literacy is the foundation of what we are as individuals. Every decision we make, as well as our thought process, is the basis of what we know.
Education is one of the most important things for a society to prosper and be safe which forms the character and intelligence of the individuals around the world. Education makes one able to understand what is happening in the world logically and clearly. Education enables individuals to put their potential to use and make a difference in the future. It is essential for individuals to be educated in a way that they will expand their knowledge vastly. An ideal educational model is very difficult to achieve, and is often argued over by people in society.
Since the beginning of education there have been many forms, which have been passed on from one generation to the next. Over the years education has evolved and is now seen as the education system all over the world. Today the education system is seen to be much more complex, but it still involves notions that have been around since the beginning of success, achievement and participation. Not only do these three aspects continue to contribute to the success of
