A “Lady of Honor” should be someone who can set an example for their peers, accomplish goals and perform other responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude. As a role model in my organizations, I have been able to represent a “Lady of Honor” in my daily life. I am my current student body and class vice president. I take on roles and finish tasks willingly. I have led the class of 2018 as their class president my sophomore and junior years. This task has not always been easy, but I have managed with the help of others. Now being the vice president, I am responsible for assisting the president, while taking charge of my student council. This club has taught me promptness, diligence and cooperation. I am also blessed to be the lieutenant
Being a leader, someone who other people can look up too, being someone's inspiration and being the student's voice is what student council means to me. I am applying to become a member/officer of student council because I know that I can make a positive difference and impact in our school. I am responsible and sensible enough to know what's right and what's wrong. I want to be In student council because I want to make our school a better and more enjoyable place, to help and listen to my peers opinions and problems and generally get involved. I would like to become a great leader, gain useful experience and give back to the school. I believe that I can benefit from student council as much as student council benefits from me.
Being president of the Sophomore Class would be a wonderful opportunity to exercise my strengths and abilities. I think, with my strengths, I would be a great candidate for Class President. I am very interactive and open to new ideas of my classmates, especially when it can better our grade and our future as students. I show outstanding leadership that encourages others to further engage in their positions and responsibilities. To me, I think that it’s important to function as a unit rather than having unbalanced strengths. I would encourage others to be their own leader and make sure they fully indulge in their positions. I accept all responsibilities that come with the position including attendance to the meetings and to school, having good
I exemplify the National Honor Society’s core value of leadership because of my responsibility and my hard work. When working in a group, I am the person who takes charge and gets all of the group members on the right track. I divide up the parts as evenly as possibly and do my best to ensure that each person contributes. If a person is working slower than others, I help them complete their work as soon as I finish my own. Because a leader must be responsible, I prove my responsibility through the fact that I have never turned an assignment in late. If I am given a task to do, I always do it to the best of my ability no matter what it takes. I also demonstrate leadership outside of school when I am at swim practice. I serve as the role model in my group by always being there and
As a member of student council, it taught me leadership skills, compromisation, and working as a team member. The main job of being the president of student council is to lead the group. By being a leader, I learned to handle large responsibilities. In addition, student council also taught me the skills of compromising with the rest of the members. With so many ideas I was able to combine the ideas of everyone. Lastly, student council helped me develop the skill of working together. For example, in student council, everyone works together as a team member to create things such as a t-shirt, to organizing a spirit day. The skills I have taken from student council have helped me develop as a person and given me skills to be a leader in today’s
Afterward, as a junior and senior I ran for president, and I am now in charge of overseeing the council's events and fundraisers. As president my junior year I was able to cut our council’s debt in half as well as diversifying our council. Something I was capable to accomplish as president was getting a grant from our school’s foundation pay our state trip to St. Cloud, Minnesota, where our council received three awards. The grant also paid off some of our debt left from a previous event that didn't go as we hoped the year before, the grant was also able to pay for each delegate to have apparel on our council. During the same time I was the Citywide Student governments and Hennepin Division president. The role I play at being citywide president is to ensure that every high school in my district is equally heard and funded. During my presidency as MASC Hennepin Division President, my purpose was organized large submits for all student councils in Hennepin County. In these submits we would discuss policy and issues that were a problem within our county, that we could address at our state conference to gain more support to bring up to Minnesota Department of education. Girls Inc. is a girl's investment challenge, that taught me how to be financially prepared for my future as well as taught me about the stock market and bonds. My personal experience with extra curricular in the community is
Being a part of Student Council was a major component to what made my first year at Eureka High School unforgettable. I experienced what student council at Eureka is all about and further enhanced my leadership skills. After being on Student Council, I fully understand the qualities and commitment it takes to be a part of such a devoted group. Eureka High School's Student Council requires diligent, responsible, and high-spirited members to achieve the amazing goals it does every year. I understand the responsibilities and qualities needed to be on Student Council which is why I, Briney Beck, would be a great enhancement to Eureka High School’s Student Council.
At Oak Knoll, I am one of the Co Presidents of the club Green Team. I’m so fortunate to have been given this opportunity, since I have already learned so many lessons from it. First of all, it has helped me learn to communicate with my peers. As one of three presidents, ideas can clash, so through this club I’ve learned that you need to be flexible and take the other person's suggestion into consideration. Second, this has given me an opportunity to meet some of the underclassmen, and collaborate with them on different projects. Finally, I have a great sense of responsibility and know how to lead and guide a group of people. This means taking all of their ideas into consideration, since being a leader means that you cannot be selfish, and recognize the group members feedback and thoughts.
. I would like to become a class representative because I would represent the future 7th grade class, and I would like to be the speaker, or the voice, for my grade. As a class representative, I will efficiently communicate things, or concerns between my classmates to the student council officers. I will gather feedback from classmates, and transmit it back to the other council members.I will work with others on how we can make this school an even better school than it is already. I am committed to helping others and I am very enthusiastic toward being part of the student council. I will represent the views of others, and work hard to support the other council members. I am organized, and responsible, so other students and council members can
I was the vice president of the student body and then president because the president at that time couldn't fulfill her duties during my 8th grade year. I was in charge of arranging meetings with the advisor and also with the class officers, organizing events for the school, and bring monthly reports to the Executive Board of our school. We were required to have 1 meeting a month with the class officers and advisor. I needed to be able to communicate well with my individual class officers also have superior leadership skills. I had to have one year of experience, and expertise on how to run individual class meetings.
I am devoted to community service. As a student, my immediate community is my school. I ran for election to the Old Rochester Regional Junior High School Student Council a mere six weeks after I moved to this town, where I knew not one person, so that I could get to know people and learn about the issues students at my new schools faced. I won and was further elected President by a student body who had just only met me. I have now been President for two years in a row. As student government representative, my role is to listen to the issues of the students and to represent them to the best of my ability to the administration, the teachers, and the outside community. As President, I am able to inspire and help the students put the words
I believe that my role most nearly relates to the quote by Warren Bennis, “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.” Leadership is instilled in my personality. Although I do not always recognize it, I work behind the scenes to ensure that the results are nothing less than exceptional. I may not have the most important position on the yearbook staff, but I have come to realize that taking on this position has brought me to my full potential as a leader. I have grown to speak my mind in controversial situations and help fill the voids of talent

In High School, it was my first leadership experience has President of Help for Humanity Club and it was a huge opportunity for me. I was thankful to the previous President because she left me numerous resources and ideas that she recommended. With that information, I created a timeline and set some goals for that current year. Also, this position gave me an opportunity to get rid of my public speaking fear. I was able to speak in front of audiences without stuttering. When I enter into Wake Technical Community College, I became Vice President for Economics Club one semester and serve as President for two years later on. This was a tremendous challenge for me because the previous President had no leadership skills. He did not plan any events; however, he was full of talks instead of taking actions. I had to start from scratch to build the club back up because there were only three people in the club. Even when I was Vice President at one period, I was shocked how there were no events going on during that semester. I started to gather more members by presenting information at the club fair and to students in every Economics class. One event that was extremely successful was our trip to the Federal Bank in Charlotte where there was a total of twenty-seven students. We had about six guest speakers in those two years too. This challenge helped me learn how to be a true leader where I had to rebuild a club starting from scratch and guiding a new executive
Nine hours a day. Nine hours on average staring at a screen(CNN). Nine hours soaking up all the advertisements, opinions, conflicts from the media into our developing brains. Few people disagree with the fact that the mass media and television continues to shape our world, culture, and especially my generation of high schoolers, who are moving into the real world. For teens right now, the celebrity population truly does dictate how we live and our opinions. So shouldn’t the celebrities we expose ourselves to be positive role models? Sadly, this isn’t the case right most of the time. But, Ellen DeGeneres is an exception. She is a philanthropist, a talented comedian, and a role model to people of all ages. This is why we should use the money given to the school to invite Ellen DeGeneres to speak to our students and staff.
As children begin to develop and mature, they gain a lot from the people around them. Kids seem to pick up on every little detail, good or bad. When children live in a household associated with drugs, alcohol, or abuse, they are more apt to following the exact same path as their elders. Even families dealing with divorce seem to notice more rebellion among their kids. Children generally take after their parents or parental figures. They need positive guidance and encouragement as they grow up. It is said that girls are typically more sensitive than boys, and tend to need more of a female role model as she develops. As a female matures and grows she needs a motherly figure to support and guide her through the various stages of her life.
