On Monday, January 18, 2016, at about 1515 hours, while present at group 31 office, Lt. Bava, Sgt. Laporta and I, conducted the P.G. 206-13 hearing of Sgt. Jennifer Lavelle, Tax #933921, currently assigned to the Critical Response Command. The hearing took place at 241 37 Street, Third Floor, Brooklyn, N.Y. Sgt. Lavelle was represented by SBA Trustee Cliff Thieleke. Sgt. Lavelle was interviewed as a witness. The interview was recorded on an Olympus brand digital voice recorder and upload into ICIS. In sum and substance Sgt. Lavelle stated the following; On August 23, 2014 Sgt. Lavelle was assigned to the 83 Precinct. She was present for duty at 0800 hours as the domestic violence Sergeant and she conducted several home visits. At 1450 hours she was post changed to the 83rd Precinct desk and she assumed the duties of the 83 desk office. Sgt. Lavelle remained as the Desk Sergeant for the entire tour. I presented Sergeant Lavelle with a copy of the command log entry for August 23, 2014 depicting the validation of two arrests at about 2040 hours when Mr. Carlton Smith …show more content…

She stated that base on the command log entry the defendants’ money was counted in her presence. According to the command log entry, Mr. Joshua Riley was arrested and subsequently released on a voided arrest. I asked Sgt. Lavelle to read in the record the account of money that Mr. Riley had on his person and if all of his money was returned to him upon his released. Sgt. Lavelle stated that based on the command log entry, Mr. Riley had had a total of $178.00 and $98.00 was returned and she doesn’t recall if all his money was returned to him or not. As for Mr. Carlton Smith a total of $205.26 was counted in front of her and $95.26 was returned. Shortly after, Mr. Smith was removed to the hospital and he was escorted by PO Osipowich via EMS. Sgt.
