The greats in the game of basketball are a hard thing to argue. The best today is easy to tell; they are the players that stand out game by game. They have distinguishable traits that make them the greats of today. Some of those traits can be found in their per 36 Minutes stats. Some players don’t play as much as other players, that is why they have made the per 36 minutes stats. Some players play 42 out of 48 minutes; however, some only play 30 out of 48. The per 36 minutes stats have been made to even out the playing field to see how well a player would play if they played only 36 minutes. Also, some traits that make players stand out is their performance. Some players today at the guard position do things that some centers can’t even do. That …show more content…
LeBron James is, hands down, the best player to play in the last 10 years. He has averaged 30 points per game, twice in his career. Hitting thirty points per game in your career is a huge milestone only achieved by the greats, which he has done twice. Also he is ranked eleventh in all time scoring with 26,833 points (Statista, 2016). Also LeBron James is an amazing rebounder, he has 7,067 Rebounds (Basketball-Reference, 2016). For comparison, there is Ben Wallace one of the greatest rebounders of all time. He has in his 9 seasons with the Pistons 7,264 rebounds. On top of all that, LeBron James is also a great assister. LeBron James on average for all of his seasons has 6.9 assists per game. For a small forward that is great. He is a threat on ball by attacking the rim, and shooting. That’s not all, he can also dish it out to a good shooter in which they can score. On top of all of that he can get into peoples heads. Most of the greats were also great trash talkers. They do this because if they can make their opponent mad, then they can get them to react to their trash talking. Their reaction would be with forced play. And with making them play forced they are essentially out of the game. This is a great trait of
I am going to try to persuade you in thinking that Stephen Curry is the best player in the NBA as of right now. With the following arguments that that will be made in this argument.
Drafted first overall in the 2003 NBA draft, twelve time NBA all star, four time NBA most valuable player, and three time NBA champion. These are just a few of the many accomplishment that Lebron James has made on the basketball court. While being the face of the NBA and the greatest basketball player of this generation Lebron will tell you himself that those accomplishment are not the ones that he is most proud of. When Lebron is not on the court gliding through the air like a bird or making some of the most spectacular plays that make people watching just jump out of their seats in disbelief he spends a lot of his free time giving back to the community. That is why today we are here on his behalf to honor him with the Sportsmen of Year award,
Lebron James is considered the very best among many top players to ever play the game.
When LeBron James was born, nobody would have guessed that he would have been the one to go all the way to the NBA and perform like he does. He has amazing talent and he knows how to use it. And what's so amazing about how he went all the way to the NBA, is he was living in a state of poverty with trouble all around him and still managed to make it tontine big times.Even though the odds of how he lived were against him, LeBron James managed to put his talent first and become one of the best basketball players in the world.
In conclusion, Lebron is one of the greatest to play the game and will be in the top ten of all time. That still does not mean he will surpass Michael anytime soon if not ever. They are both so equal but so different in their own ways. He simply has not done enough to even be in this conversation at all. Now it does not matter because people have their own opinions and will argue that LeBron will be better than Jordan. People just need to understand that the facts do not lie. LeBron James will never be as good or better than Michael Jordan.
LeBron James calls himself King James because he has won 4 MVP’s throughout his NBA career, and he is very dedicated and a very great leader to all of his games as well as his teammates. As I observed the 2015 Finals, LeBron James played the hardest out of each player on his team as well as the opposing team. James did not have a lot of help going against a strong team like the Warriors because two of the starting players from the Cavaliers got injured and had to sit out for the rest of the season. Kevin Love got injured way before the finals took place, and Kyrie Irving got injured during game one against the Warriors. Rodger Sherman, website sport journalist stated that, “James' average line in these NBA Finals is 36.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game. Only Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal and James Worthy have managed to do that in a single NBA Finals game since 1986” (web). Rodger
It was not very surprising that the Cavaliers were jumping at the bit and selected LeBron (Hill 25).However, “Observers wondered how (the Cleveland Cavaliers) would handle the Heralded Rookie” (“LeBron James” 3). Playing with the Cavaliers was not bare of exhilaration events. He became the youngest person to score more than forty points and later broke his own record by scoring fifty-six (“LeBron James” 5). Yet again, a period of time passes where the Cavaliers had a multitude of decisive victories and a few defeats, and LeBron once more found himself participating in a very prestigious event. He was in the 2008 Olympics. He and his team were able to deliver a victory for the U.S. by winning the gold medal for basketball (“LeBron James” 4). Next was a staggering moment for the everybody involved with the Cavaliers. Lebron decided to leave the Cavaliers and become a free agent after the 2009-2010 season. He eventually chose to join the Miami Heat (“LeBron James” 5). Things still weren’t slowing down for LeBron, he had his first son, LeBron James Jr., on June 4, 2004 (Hill 34). Roughly 3 years later on June 11, 2007, LeBron’s second son, Bryce Maximus James, was born (Hill 42). The road that LeBron, along with the Miami Heat, took led them to competing in the NBA championship. LeBron and the Miami Heat achieved champion status by winning the event (Hill 100-101). In 2014, after a few years with the Heat, LeBron signed back on with the Cavaliers and is currently still there. Now age 29, LeBron still has a lot of life left in him which could mean many more riveting moments for the fans of LeBron, or the Basketball community in
Lebron James is the MVP (Most Valuable Player), for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He lead the team to the championship in basketball and won it all. Earlier that year Lebron came back to Cleveland Cavaliers from the Miami Heat with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Why leave when you have a big 3 on your team? He said he wanted to go home for his last few years of basketball. If you ask me I think he'll be in the league for at least more 5 years. Lebron is seventh on all time scoring 200 point over Shaquille O'Neal.
Which star athlete won MVP three times, and the first person drafted in 2003? It was LeBron James, also known as king James! LeBron James was born on December 30th, 1984 and was born in Akron, Ohio. James grew up living in many houses and different places. In highschool Lebron loved football and had a passion for basketball. He was inspired by his idol Michael Jordan to play basketball. He worked hard to get to where he is today, but never forgot where he came from and what it took to get where he is today.
LeBron really is. Today’s sports fan obsesses over the art of arguing over things such as best team, best coach and of course, best player. The debate may even be most alive in the NBA. Basketball is very much a team sport, but it has the ability for one player to take over. That is why basketball fans like to compare great players of different times, like Jordan and James. This particular topic is almost the stepping stone for all other debates. These players are very often compared by sports media. For example, this Sports Illustrated article describes a scene in new movie “Bad Teacher” where the main character has a quick argument over LeBron and MJ with a student, “a teacher and a middle school student arguing about Michael Jordan and LeBron James. It is the truest sports scene I've seen in a long while. It's about me. I have become a grumpy old man, a bad teacher. I cannot even listen to the Jordan versus LeBron arguments” (Posnanski). It is also popular in the music industry. In the song “Sideline Story”, rapper J. Cole gave his stand on the popular sports debate, “But, you'll never play me like LeBron vs. Jordan, twenty years, wonder who they gone say was more important. Both changed the game, came through and made a lane. Who's to say that who's greater, all we know, they ain't the same.” Clearly, this is not the first time the idea of comparing these great athletes has come
LeBron is a great athlete, person, and team player. LeBron’s career has gone as planned he average’s a little over 26 points a game in his career and 7 rebounds and about 6 assists. Although he is only 31 years old some players play in the NBA till there 40 or 41. Like, Michael Jordan he was almost 40 years old. LeBron is also in the top 20 in scoring of all time players, I personally think he could make it to be the best ever in the
The God given talent an athlete possesses is a key component to the amount of success they will achieve throughout their career. Talent is what separates a good player from a bench player. LeBron James can be considered as the best professional basketball player of recent years. He is a 3x NBA Champion along with 3 NBA Finals MVP awards, 4x Most Valuable Player, 12x NBA All-Star and a 3x Olympic medalist. He was also considered to be more talented than anyone in his graduating high school class. So much so, that he skipped college and got drafted number 1 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Talent is usually recognized at a young age. In today’s age of technology, just one click can find someone an eight-year-old who is the “Next Kevin Durant”
It seems impossible, but we habitually forget just how great at basketball, LeBron James is at basketball. For such a great player, he endures more criticism, than any other superstar, regardless of the sport.
LeBron James was born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio. He is a famous Basketball Player. He plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers. With his unique combination of size, athleticism and court vision, he became one of the premier players in the NBA. As of June 2017 LeBron James’ net worth is $86 million dollars. Millions of kids look up to him and do certain things just because of him. He has changed the way the game is played and has changed the lives of many people. Just from being a little kid born in Akron Ohio with a single mother to where he is today as one of the greatest to everplay is incredible. That's why LeBron James is my hero. Just from what he's done in life. He’s never doubt himself no matter what anyone else said and has never just quit or given up. He has accomplished and reached his goals no matter what it took. That's why he is classified as one of the greats not from what he’s just does on the court but what he does off the court also. The crazy thing about it is that LeBron is in just middle of his
