Describe her actions that support your choice. (Chap 19) Eve Yen should have determined what she needed the employees to do before hiring them. 4. Eve said, “By 2006 I had started to worry.” (About expansion). What planning should she have been doing in the 11 years since she started her company? Be specific in the actions that were needed. (Chap 19) Eve should have planned for long-term and short-term when she started her company. Long-term planning could have included a better organization of how the business would run, in the instance that it took on the growth that it did when she “started to worry.” Long-term planning would of helped her to see the growth ahead of time and automatically resort to the plan she created, save time and initiate the solution of implementing managers and other such devices to help keep the company just as efficient. Short-term goals could have been dealing with the production overlap issues that she faced with growth from start-up to the 11 years later where she would be a $9 million industry. Setting short-term goals for production, marketing and other areas could have helped her stay on top of the lack of communication issues she later faced, by implementing a universal system when the company was smaller and perhaps didn’t need it as much. This would have helped communication as the company grew to be easier dealt with as it would already be implemented. Setting a budget would have helped in her planning to avoid her woes about expansion as well. Setting budget goals would have help her follow a

In order for a business or corporation to grow and expand at a calculated pace, they must be able to strategize the proper business plan to get there. According to Soriano, the companies had developed their budgeting and long-range planning system several year earlier but, despite the many advantages these gave them, they still were not satisfied with their ability to respond to the rapid changes in the environment around them. They, therefor, search for a process that would enable them to upgrade their planning capability.

The analysis carried out in this work is grounded on the basis of interviews and relevant analysis of the findings from a comprehensive perspective. The topics selected are important since they encompass a wide array of factors that can critical affect a company’s performance, and their management, according to the Body of Literature, is very much needed.
Every organisation must plan every action it intends to take, in the short-term as well as in the long-term. The company, on the basis of the objectives set by the top management of the organisation should plan for growth, expansion, restructuring of business or otherwise. Every company needs to plan out its strategies according to its future plans in order to avoid surprises and to overcome any challenges they may have to face. Therefore, without planning, the organisation cannot achieve any of its goals.
Then take that into account when creating the strategic plan. As for the expense levels growing out of control, I believe the company might need to switch form revenue based offices to profit based offices. This will take into account expenses a lot more, therefore gaining back more control of the expense levels. Of course it should create a comprehensive and well thought through plan that will take into account the objective of revenue growth. Again this should be integrated into the strategic plan. Moving on to the issue of lack of new leads and prospects, I believe the chart idea they suggested is a good idea, but maybe give the managers and the offices more freedom by using it how they feel is best and not having them report back everything to the founding partners. It should be at least a little decentralized, as everyone is use to now. As for the last issue I believe ACS should pay back the money they overcharged Powerhouse for, and tell them there was a mix-up by an employee and you’re terrible sorry and you have taken care of the problem. This way you won’t really lie, you prevent them from finding out some other way and keep your integrity. I believe this will work out for the best.
Chapter 4: How do you think planning in today’s organizations compares to planning in an organization 25 years ago? Do you think planning becomes more important or less important in a world where everything quickly changes and crises are a regular part of organizational life? Why?
The paper will explore different theories of Management, include Henri Fayol and Henry Mintzberg. This section of this paper provides an overview of functions, roles and skills required of a manager. What is Management? Management can define as the process of reaching organisational goals by working with and through people and other organisational resources. (Management Innovation, 2008).
Conventional business planning methods operate on the premise that managers can extrapolate future results from a well-understood base of information from the past. However, for new businesses and projects this way of planning often does not comply. Most of the time there is no past-knowledge and if there’s any past knowledge available, predicting the future out of it is nearly impossible. The dilemma is that corporate planning techniques often presume more
