Hey Jessica, I agree with you, MLA was once upon a time the only style the I knew. I will be just like you always going to revisit the APA section in our library. I still hit some roadblocks but I would have to say our professor would be the best way to clear up all questions, or better yet lead you in the best direction to solve the issue.
I am an English Major, so I know I will mainly be using the MLA format, but some of my instructors will be wanting to use this APA format.
Better known as the debt ceiling compromise, the sequester was intended to serve as an incentive for the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, also known as the “supercommittee,” to come to a deal to cut $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years. If they could not come up with a deal, $1.2 trillion in further spending reductions would be implemented starting Jan. 1, 2013. Despite the deadline being extended to March 1, the supercommittee still could not come up with a plan. As a result, the sequester was set in motion, causing the government to trim its budget by $85.4 billion this year and by $1.2 trillion over the next 10 years (Zeitlin, “Fiscal cliff for dummies”)
It is clear Ryerson University needs a better way to make education accessible to all their students. With the constant delays of the transit systems we have, and the rising costs to commute, students are skipping lectures. The best solution to this problem is starting VR enabled lectures. This will keep expenses low for students and save time that students struggle to find. VR enabled lectures are far superior to the alternative, which is living on campus. By living on campus expenses increase and you’re not in the comfort of your home. Also it is not guaranteed you will get approved to live on residence because of the limited beds available. Being a computer science students we already have the necessary knowledge to make this possible, as
UCM: CPSW received a call from Ms. Messerli reporting that she needs the lock number for her storage from foster provider family. She also stated that she needs the boy's cell phone back. CPSW reminded Ms. Messerli that this writer will ask the foster provider about the phone and storage numbers. CPSW reminded Ms. Messerli to focus on her recovery and not to disrupt her children as well as the foster provider and if she needs anyting to let the CPSW aware of it. Also, CPSW reminded Ms. Messerli not to contact or call both children until the theripist approves it. Ms. Messerli stated that she will try. Howerver, Ms Messerli sounded unhappy and really upset about not contacting her children Nick and Alexander.
You are the CA (Community Assistant) on call, you received a phone call from another CA instructing you to go to the 9th floor immediately. You quickly threw on your robe and rushed to the 9th floor. Upon your arrival to the 9th floor you see the paramedics carrying a student who seems to have a broken leg. As you walk to the CA on duty, you see the student she is talking to, he is male who has a bloody bruised face, black eyes, and blood all over his shirt. You begin to take notes immediately asking the African American male questions about what happened. The black male and his White friend were leaving a party and a group of white students called the Black male a NIGGA, His friend quickly responded defending saying that is not cool. The black
Anyone would be hard-pressed to find a politician in recent years who has been elected to a national office without promising to improve education and focus their efforts on the betterment of their constituents’ children. Many of these politicians have succeeded at passing legislation to do so, but the latest of these, the Common Core standards initiative, is facing a very important query right now: does it work in America? Although Common Core is very well intentioned and in selective ways could be considered a success, there are many failures to consider as well. When dealing with such education, a vital issue, these failures must be dealt with. In order to ensure not only an equal education but also one of higher quality which the citizenry
In 1976, Congress passed the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) in response to a growing national concern about public exposure to toxic chemicals. Since then, it has largely been hailed as a failure for two reasons. First, TSCA has been unable to effectively compel producers to test and disclose adequate information on chemical toxicity. Second, it has been ineffective at designating sufficient resources to the EPA to identify and reduce the possible health and environmental risks associated with new chemicals. Nonetheless, it has been devoid of major revisions since its implementation. In the nearly 40 years of congressional inaction on this issue, many states have intervened by enacting stricter chemical laws that fill in TSCA’s gaps.
Across the nation and world assisted suicide is an issue that has been gaining attention for several years. With famous cases such as Jack Kevorkian it has become a household term and everyone has an opinion. There are strong cases on both sides, but the bottom line is while it may sound good for the present, it is not for the future. Assisted Suicide should not be legalized in Alabama as the negative outcomes far exceed the positive outcomes in the areas of impact on society, politics and medical education
Great question Amanda about the what results would we see nationwide if all states chose to incorporate the Common Core Standards? To look at the big picture of the Common Core State Standards Initiavtive, the purpose is to create a standard set for all students in the United States. When talking about the Common Core State Standards and how they affect students and educators we must remember where this argument started from. In the 21st century of learning Barth (2004) reminds us that "we are not just preparting workers, we are preparing citizens. It is our interest ,then, as much our responisbility to make sure that all our young people are prepared for the furture."
Comment: To avoid any more drastic cuts and burning through the cash reserves, we will need to bring in a higher sales tax immediately. The difficulty of placing a higher sale tax is getting Legislature to approve this. My colleagues and I have been consistent with attending conferences in Sacramento and Washington D.C. seeking for advocates to help with funding VTA. VTA faces a projected $6 billion deficit over the next two decades if we don’t get an approval for high sales tax. If this doesn’t work out, we will continue to cut more services in order to keep VTA doors open.
Sexual thoughts pop in and out of most people’s mind, but especially teenagers, and there’s nothing they can do about it. It is normal for teenage boys and girls to experience this, more than ever when they are hitting puberty. The hormones in the body begin to act up and teenagers want to experience other things on their own. Males begin to grow pubic and facial hairs, and their voice starts to deepen, while girls’ breasts begin to develop and their body begins to take shape. After hitting puberty, teenagers are now at the point where they want to experience things. ‚Don’t go out there and get pregnant‛ a mother
Why should a grown man be allowed to use the same restroom as a little girl? Well, the answer to that is, simply, there is no evidence that suggests any kind of negative effects on cis-gendered people by allowing transgender people to use the bathroom of their choice. Recently, the store Target has announced that they will allow transgender people to use the bathroom of their choice. While many have supported this, a petition has arisen to boycott Target because of their decision. This petition has gained over one million signatures. Many of those who support it argue that a grown adult male should not be allowed to share a restroom with their daughters, sisters, wives, and mothers. Why? Because it makes the women uncomfortable? Just like it

It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled.
