The port of Shanghai spanning over 1,000 years, was where the Ming’s naval expeditions were launched and was place of hectic trading, where fortunes were made and lost. My parents are both civil engineers and my childhood was spent on this unique river and Deepwater port, witnessing the harbour sweep into a grandiose showpiece of a booming economy. I watched basic structures integrated piece by piece and eventually form spectacular architectures.
With a management information systems and business analytics degree from CSU Global I will work to reach a point in my career where I am in a management position that will allow me to work alongside companies to assess their technological needs in a way that can increase both their efficiency and their productivity. Once I finish the program I will look into working with an information technology help desk to build up my ability to completely understand many computer systems. I know that getting my degree is a huge part of my future success as a
Why is participating in the A Day in the Life at the VNA important to you?
There comes a time where the bird must “leave the nest,” and that time has come around faster than I could have imagined. One day it was playing outside in the dirt and the next we’re graduating from high school, entering a world that we are hopefully prepared for. I’ve always been one for self-doubting, especially since I would be the first in my family to go to college. I want to further my interests with the education available and achieve the most I can for myself but also for my family.
While my time at the University Of Houston, I have watched myself grow and change into a stronger and more insightful individual. Exiting high school I wanted nothing more than to peruse a degree in technology, as this was the driving force behind my high school elective classes. When I first entered the University of Houston I started my degree in computer science in the school of mathematics and science, as I grew I noticed that this was close to what I wanted to do, but unfortunately was not a good fit to my personality. I then explored alternate degree options for myself as I felt that I was missing an important part of myself in my work. I then discovered the management of information systems in the school of business, I was excited
This epistle gives me a unique opportunity to pen down my ambition and my Statement of Purpose. Let me begin by saying that I wish to pursue my masters in Management Information Systems .
‘Learning is like a ripple in the waters of an endless ocean’. This is one of my

As being a part of a rapidly changing and burgeoning society where everything is mechanized, I Murali Ravikumar, find myself in a transitional surrounding where the things which were once operated manually when I was a child ,to a completely automated state through the course of time and yet it still continues to grow simultaneously as we grow old. From my childhood, I used to admire how things work and as I grew, I began to wonder that how things are manufactured. When I was 10, As quoted from my dad " I used to play with toy cars which was a remote control one and I would stay watching it for hours, Like kind of being dazzled by its working". I used to make sketches of cars since it's the only thing I liked to play with, and it became my favourite. My dad used to take me to his workplace quite often, which had plenty of textile based machineries and I used to watch them working. As an admirer of working of things, I tried to disassemble and assemble my PC which I accidentally broke. Since I have a craving towards" How stuffs work?", It was clear that my field of study should be in engineering and that too in production &industrial stream because everything in
“Learning makes a man fit company for him”. This maxim impressed me right from my childhood days to learn something new each day, learn, learn and relearn until the end. My decision to apply for MS in mechanical engineering has emerged, both from my passion for research and my aspiration to understand the concepts of engineering. MS in Mechanical Engineering can provide me with the platform to further improve and ultimately refine my knowledge and skills in my areas of interest. Right from my childhood, when I started understanding little things I have been fascinated with the world of the machines that made life easier. My passion for mechanical engineering only grew with time as I kept on finding out about how things function around us like bikes, cars, and machinery etc. I believe the MS program from your esteemed university is pivotal for me as quality, knowledge and impeccable guidance will mold me to be in the learning mode all my life, opening the way for constant growth as a person and a professional. So I wanted to become an engineer and satisfy my inquisitive nature. This keen enthusiasm made to opt for a career in this field.
“Ability is what you are capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it”. These inspiring words from Lou Holtz have kept me motivated towards my goals and encouraged me to aim high in life. After a good deal of self-evaluation I have decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science in my areas of interest: “Artificial Intelligence” and “Distributed Systems (Cloud Computing)”. This decision followed naturally after carefully analysing my academic background, my areas of interest, and my long term career objective, which is to pursue a research career – either as a teaching faculty in a university, or in an R & D department of the industry.

“Everything comes to us that belongs to us if we create the capacity to receive it.”
Since my schooling days, a keen interest in the sciences, along with good grades in mathematics, propelled me to pursue the life sciences after high school. Even though I am from India, where the life sciences are not as highly regarded as engineering because of the difference in the job opportunities in the two fields, my parents always encouraged my passion in pursuing the life sciences as a career. With their support, I applied and was accepted to the pharmacy program at BITS-Pilani, a program in which chemistry and biology are so intricately fused that they cannot be separated.
