Introduction In the review of the book, “Making Change Work: Practical Tools for Overcoming Human Resistance to Change,” I decided to summarize the major steps the book establishes. It discusses how to begin the change process by understanding your need for change, to the final step of the change process where an organization needs to implement changes. After summarizing the steps, I am going to show how the book relates to the textbook, Organizational Change: An Action-Oriented Toolkit, as well as giving a managerial implication. Step 1: Leading Change The organization leadership team is going to be responsible for establishing the changes, as well as taking responsibility. The team leaders of the project are going to set objectives for the teams and assign areas of focus. The tools that are going to assist in leading change are; team charter, calendar test, personal audit, and adopting change roles. The team charter is a contract with your team and the sponsor, it can be used to establish a mission, ground rules, meetings, and team roles. The calendar test is there to insure the correct amount of time is being invested in the project in order for it to be successful. The personal audit tool helps is there to judge team members strength and weaknesses, it can point out the human issues relevant to this project. The final tool for leading change is adopting change.
