MAKING OUR SOCIETY A MUCH BETTER PLACE TO LIVE IN THROUGH THE MOVIE AND MUSIC MEDIUM.
The realities of this life go far beyond what we can see with our eyes, hear with our ears, smell with our noses, taste with our tongues and feel with our hands. The real issues of life go far beyond the frontiers of what we can contact with our five physical senses.
Through time, the movie as well as music medium has been doing a great job entertaining, exciting, enlightening, educating and enriching people; the movie and music medium today has become a vital part of people’s daily life. Through time also, the movies as well as television programmes people have been watching has been doing a fantastic job transferring cultures and ideologies from one

No manufacturer is happy to see his product having problems or not performing perfectly the function it was designed to achieve. The real fulfilment of any manufacturer is to see his product doing well and accomplishing excellently the exact intention he had in mind that made him create that product. The Almighty God is the creator or manufacturer of man, there are a lot of things that are aversely affecting people that God Almighty is not happy about that He has predestined to fix or correct through the movies or television programmes they watch and music or radio programmes they listen to, in this dispensation of time. One major feat the Almighty God is all out to achieve these last days is to use the powerful influence of the movie as well as music medium to fight crime, corruption and violence out of the lives of the people in particular and in the society at large.
All along for this long while, so much has been going on behind the
Although cinema is now a priority, some feel as if cinema is no longer the cinema when it was first established. Movies no longer have that special feeling like viewers once had. Today, films are not only shared within a theater, if one pleases they could always have the same experience elsewhere. Moreover, with technology expanding, it takes away the importance cinema once had. “The
What does it mean to form a more just society for the common good? I will be examining Dr. Martin Luther King’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” as well as Gustavo Gutierrez’s essay, “The Option for the Poor Arises from Love of Christ.” Dr. King examines the facets of social injustice through a letter that he wrote while imprisoned for a nonviolent public protest. King’s letter is in response to a letter from eight fellow clergymen. In the letter from the clergymen they criticize King’s due process in seeking justice and his social injustice movement, so King responds with what I believe to be one of the greatest examples of a man who personifies what it means to form a more just society for the common good. He does not only speak on his behalf, but he speaks out all of humanity. Likewise, Gustavo Gutierrez examines specifically the poor in a similar manner, but believes that these “poor” people have found the ultimate meaning in life and we should all seek to have that same spiritual connection to God, for it would make our society a better place. The preferential option for the poor is seeking a deeper connection to God by bringing justice to light. Gutierrez and Dr. King both exemplify men who have truly set an example on how to form a more just society for the common good of humanity.
“The biggest mistake we have made is to consider that films are primarily a form of entertainment. The film is the greatest medium since the invention of movable type for exchanging ideas and information, and it is no more at its best in light entertainment than literature is at its best in the light novel.” - Orson Welles
I believe that America was established by the bravest, and fearless people that wanted to make America better. To me thats what America needs more of these days, people that will make a difference in the world. That could be from joining the military, or even picking up the trash. I believe that America is the best country in the world because of the people that make the nation a better place. I believe that we have the best military in the world, fighting to keep us safe so we can live our greedy lives. Many men get injured, or even die so we can have freedom is this great nation. Our law enforcment makes our cities safe so that we can live a perfect life.
“Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul motivated by love.”
“I’m going to make a name for myself. If I fail, you will never hear of me again” Edward James Muggeridge. True to his words he succeeded in making a name for himself and he created the first movie or “motion picture”. Movies are a rollercoaster ride that transcends people into a whole different world fresh out of somebody’s imagination as seen through the genres of horror, drama, and science fiction. The movie business allows people to break through the burden of everyday life. Considering today’s way of life, people would be lying if they did not admit that movies are an influential entity in our culture. Movies have been successful in ingraining values and elements into society. Movies exaggerate, sensationalize and at

Ludwig van Beethoven once said, “Music, in truth, is the mediator between intellectual and sensual life”. Though he and his music were from an entirely different era, both still have relevance in our lives today. Music from the past is all around us on the radio, in commercials, and on the big screen. For example, one of Beethoven’s most famous symphonies, “Symphony No. 9”, makes an appearance in many movies. It even makes an appearance in Die Hard. Though we like to think that which is old is obsolete, we are everyday reminded that this is not true.

We all have something close to our heart that could make a positive change in our community and possibly even our earth. I could make a positive change in my community by raising money through fundraisers to buy new, unused, cotton clothing (shoes, shirts, shorts), and by donating these needed clothing items to underprivileged children. Due to my many hours of work in the community soup kitchen it was brought to my attention that there is a need for more than food, there is a necessitate for clothing. I would hope to make sure no child goes unclothed.
The importance of music in movies is highly regarded for manipulating the viewer’s emotions and helping them immerse into the story. Music is one of the prime elements in cinema. Without it a movie would feel dull and unexciting. There are three elements in a movie: one is acting, the second is picture, and the third one is music. It is a holy trinity; if incomplete, there would be a lack of sensation and excitement. Both acting and picture can stand independently from one another, but music is the one that makes the movie memorable.
Films and movies hold much than we can guess, they reveal a lot of vices and rots that are happening in society. Others give a history of a particular society, its beliefs, culture and their standard of living in the society. Films are used to disclose the social responsibilities in a given season and customs, moral values, societal worries and other cultural practices.
In a modern world in which intercommunication is at the tip of a finger, ideas can be shared, understood, and implemented in the blink of an eye. The world’s current accessibility has allowed societal opinion to change rapidly, with external influences on culturally sensitive topics. Without this communication, we would not be nearly so intellectually connected and advanced a global community as we are now, though we still have a long way to go. One of the greatest ways to have documented that societal journey has been through media. Since the first film was created in 1888, people have narrated, entertained, and shared ideas with one another through their art: film. Film has been used to tell stories to the
To make this world a better, safer place to live, there are really two things that stand out. The first is that we need to promote in whatever way possible the idea that we are all human beings and they we are in this together. The world and its resources need not be a zero sum game. Too often, we are divided by race, class, gender, nation-states, religions and we forget that we are all the same inside, that we all want the same things, and that this world has enough resources for everybody if we work together. Conflict, war, and strife are the things that make this world unsafe, more than anything else. It is estimated that 5.4 million people at least were killed in wars between 1955-2002, to say nothing of the conflicts before and after (ScienceDaily, 2008). Millions more are injured and displaced as the result of such conflicts, to say nothing of the negative impacts on economies and the lives ruined as a consequence.
The BBFC has commissioned me to undertake research as part of a project to ascertain to what degree films can be regarded as powerful within contemporary society. In this assignment, I will comprehensively explain the relationship between audiences and films with well explained examples. I refer to the different sectors relating to the topic that include the following:
