The job of a Marine Biologist is a very unique job that dives deep into the study of ocean life. This paper will go into detail about the general duties of the job, one's aptitude towards the job itself, and special qualifications and requirements needs to succeed in this workplace. The duties of marine biologists vary depending on who you work for, for instance say you work for a company that wants to dive to the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean that is currently known to man. A marine biologist can be tasked with helping build and deploy whatever tools that will be needed for said expedition. Other’s can just as simple work for a zoo or an aquarium taking care of various tasks. The pay for a marine biologist is at a current average of 70k per year, ranging from about 50k to 140k depending on where, what, and how long a Marine biologist has been doing his/her job. Many wonder what it is like to be a marine biologist. It is known as quite untypical, due to the fact that “there is still so much we do not know about the ocean itself and all of the presumed millions of species man has yet to discover”. Most will say and agree that there is “no typical day for a marine biologist”, but that is because there is no typical marine biologist. Most marine biologists are excited for learning and excited for the new sense of adventure in looking, finding, and figuring out what an organism or an ecosystem actually is under the water. To be able to truly excel in the world of marine biology it might be good to have a few very key qualities. One should be able to work well with a team, One should have a love for the ocean and everything from within, Along with the will to learn.
