TASK 2 – A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE SCENARIO
1. MOTIVATION:-
Theory 1: Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory
Every person has some emotions and feelings and every living creature has some rights. To survive, every human being has some needs which are divided into physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, esteem needs and self-actualisation needs according to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. Human being are also known as social animals because they have some social needs of love, affection, sense of belongingness in relationship with other people(WOOD et al. 2006). Therefore, people need emotional support from their co-workers to work with motivation and attention which can help them to work with more efforts.
In India Electric Works(IEW) this was not happening, two types of people were working, one who are experienced about their work because they were working with the company for more than two years but on the other hand second kind of people were new in the company and they have lack of knowledge of company and its service. New employees need assistance and attachment from their senior ones related to company and their duties. New trainees were facing ignorance from their seniors and they were feeling demotivated and stressed. To handle the problem, they were doing hard work and self-study. They were having many difficulties during the work so they need to do extra work to get familiar with their job and products of the company.
Theory 2: Herzberg’s two-factor
Identify three personal goals. Now, review Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Describe Maslow's theory, and explain how your goals either align or do not align with his theory. Provide specific details to demonstrate your knowledge of Maslow's theory.
The story of the Sneetches, while appearing humorous and ridiculous at first, illustrates an interesting reality of our mental makeup as humans and the ways we interact with others. The story tells of fictional creatures known as sneetches. Some have stars on their bellies; others do not. The ones with the stars ostracize and discriminate against those without stars. Another character comes to the home of the Sneetches and attempts to make money by selling the starless sneetches stars which snowballs into an endless cycle of getting and removing stars with each side seeking to distinguish themselves as the superior Sneetches. However, after the man leaves having taken all the Sneetches money, the Sneetches can not
As of right now, I do not have any children, but in my term of life, I would absolutely love to have kids. I feel like Maslow's hierarchy of needs perfectly coincides with the needs of children. The first and most basic need in Maslow's hierarchy are physiological needs. Examples of physiological needs include the necessity to satisfy hunger, thirst, and fatigue. Food, water, and sleep are the uttermost important thing kids, or just humans in general need to survive. On the next level of the hierarchy are safety needs. Kids definitely need safety in their lives. They need to know that their parents or guardians are keeping them out of danger and in a secure environment. I completely agree with the decision Maslow made to make this the second
Wake up. Eat. Go to school. Eat. Go home. Eat. Do homework. Eat. Go to bed. This is an average person’s day while they are between the ages of 5 and 22 (the school aged children through average college graduation). The daily intake of food for a person is so important, as it sustains their every move throughout the day. This is especially true for school aged children, as the habits that they will learn and develop now will follow them for the rest of their lives. It is just as important for educators to be aware of what their students are eating and how to provide a healthy intervention when a child’s health is in question.
Leaders can use Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to motivate employees. The motivational needs in this theory form a pyramid. Leaders must recognize that employees may be on different levels of needs from one another. The needs at the bottom of the pyramid must be met before the needs at the higher levels. In order for this theory to work, leaders must identify the level of need that each employee is currently facing. The first level of needs is the physiological level. This level has motivators of food, shelter, and clothing. The second level of needs is security. Leaders can provide this level of need by ensuring job security. The third level of needs is social needs. Leaders can provide this level of need by helping the

Maslow’s mission in life was to understand people better. In his quest, he came up with many different theories to explain how and why humans behave the way they do. Motivation was at the center of most all his theories. “Maslow 's hierarchy of needs is a motivational theory in psychology comprising a five tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid.” (McLeod, 2016) I will be exploring my own needs according to Maslow’s Original 5 stage Pyramid.
I. The rational-economic model is the mental picture held by managers who consider workers to be primarily motivated by economic incentives as manipulated by the organization. The worker is essentially passive, lazy, and unwilling to take responsibility, and must therefore be controlled by the manager. This is the
The Foundation for Hope is an organization which helps those who are battling with bullying, depression and even thoughts of suicide. They aim to boost the confidence of those affected as well as to educate the general public of the severity of these issues. This organization follows the theory of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Since the Foundation for Hope is based around Maslow’s hierarchy of needs they will not turn away any potential client because they are so focused on helping those individuals who are trying to obtain the next level in the hierarchy of needs.
What is the idea behind Maslow’s hierarchy of needs (p. 379 in EP)? Outline each level
Teaching is one of the most important jobs as the future of the country, and indeed the world, lies in the children of today. It is important that we as teachers provide an environment, day in day out, that encourages and enables the students to grow not only as learners but as individuals. I believe the environment that facilitates this, (1) includes a fair, enthusiastic and supportive teacher, (2) incorporates the students’ interests into the curriculum, and (3) includes continual assessment to ensure student progress and success.
An animal is characterized by its physical features, humans are complex beings with more to them than the eye can see. Over a long period of time as humans began adapting to a changing world, they evolved certain characteristics that help define the human race today. The question thought in all disciplines of study is the following are human social creatures? Human survival is evaluated in different ways most people don 't just want to survive in life they want to flourish. Maslow 's hierarchy of needs explains to us a ranking of needs for most essential to the least. While the interactionist point of view explains how humans are social creatures and social interaction is just as important as all of the other needs listed on Maslow’s Model.
Motivation stems from the word motive and is defined as something that causes a person to act in a certain way (Dictionary.com, 2015) and it is further defined as the condition of being eager (Merriam-Webster.com, 2015). In the assigned textbook, the psychology perspective of motivation is defined as “all the processes involved in starting, directing, and maintaining physical and psychological activities” (Gerrig, 2013). The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of motivation theories to encompass both the content and the process perspectives, the author’s experience and an analysis of goals set to include the success, defeat or content status. This paper will also integrate Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs since it is considered to be the first ever developed motivation theory (Maslow, 1943).
This article, appeared in the Atlantic in 2011, features the Gallup World Poll made on well-being, and ducted by Ed Diener, psychologist at the University of Illinois, researcher and author of psychology oriented and analysis books and reviews, and Louis Tay, also psychologist at the same University. Ducted over 5 years, from 2005 to 2010, on 60 865 participants of 123 countries, this investigation is making its mark as the first survey to be considered as globally representative. This survey had the objective of confirming or dismissing Maslow’s famous theories of the hierarchy of basic human needs and self-actualization. Maslow’s theory, whether one believes it or not, is still a theory that is debated by psychologists. This article argues that Maslow’s theory features many flaws, such as its fuzziness when it came the main concept of self-actualization and stipulate that the main disagreement reported towards it by psychologists is the fact that it somehow assumes that there are no innate reactions because everything is thought to be exclusively learned through personal experience in a social environment (p.418). Not only it criticizes the idea of self-actualization, it also points out the way-too general categories of needs that Maslow’s theory features such as psychological needs (food, sex, sleep, etc.) and the need for security of the body and resources, pointing out the lack of flexibility in terms of the degree these needs are expressed and nuances.
Once all lower level needs are met, Maslow’s theory suggest that the fulfillment of those needs progress towards ones self-actualization of their greatest potential. The seeking of self-actualization can consist of personal knowledge, self- fulfillment, religion ("Maslow Theory of Motivation - A Paradigm Shift", n.d.).
