Maze Runner-Personal Narrative

People do not have to fly to be hero, it takes much more. Many heroes of today are shown to have supernatural powers that makes them acquire amazing abilities, flying, super strength, skills to manifest anything, the list goes on. Our heroes in the present time are perceived by the audiences' mindset to have special powers but there are times where being a hero does not need to have all the extra tricks. Thomas, a character in The Maze Runner is thrown unconsciously with no memory into a place of the unknown called the Glades, consisting of only teenagers inhabiting the area. Being scared: As you are sent away while you 're young to a mysterious place with no memories of the past. Most things in life cost something, sadly, and in the Gladers case, sometimes the cost they are making is someone 's life. Throughout the story there are examples of people risking their life in order to benefit everyone and the best that can come. Sometimes there are selfish motivations, and sometimes there isn’t, but it 's pretty bad when an innocent person has to die. I was woken up with mom at the foot of my bed saying “Wake up sweetheart wake up” it is a beautiful day in Canada witch is where I live. As I get the gunk out of my eyes so I could so my mother clearly and I ask her what was wrong because she had never woke me up at 5:45 in the morning with out it being bad or something happened to the family. I got scared and my father, sister, and brother came into my room and was saying.“Calm down your going to be okay just pack your clothes,some of your personal items,and some food NOT caned food". Next I was getting ready and Carter my brother came into my room witch he had never done and told me him and dad would protect Kelsey, mom, and myself. As I walked into the kitchen we all picked different kinds of food and water. We started walking out the door and I said "Wait I need my picture of all my friends so i would remember them"so I went and got it.

Alby is a dynamic character in the story the Maze Runner. The drastic changes that Alby went through after the Changing are clearly apparent. He is the dynamic character because in the beginning of the story he is nice and also strict and is a leader that manages the Glade. After getting stung by the griever and going through the Changing he becomes very different. He doesn’t want to be the leader and he becomes depressed, crazy and acts differently. It seems like he becomes a whole new person.

“Welcome to the Glade.”( Dashner 4) In James Dashner’s The Maze Runner, Thomas, the main character, faces many fears. He is stuck in a village surrounded by a maze. He has to fight monsters and find his way out of this maze but first he had to make friends. He can’t do any of this without his friends. Readers learn that friendship is important even in times of hardship.

In the beginning, the main character, Thomas, has his memory wiped so he doesn’t know anything. Over time though, he begins to accept where he is (the Glade) and that the people in the Glade have nothing but each other. Thomas also adapts to the Glade’s slang, and talks like a Glader. He also saves the lives of some Gladers who are his friends, such as Alby. At the end Thomas became a sort of leader, trying to make the best decisions when the rest of the Gladers didn’t know what to do. Thomas talks to the other Gladers like someone would talk to their friends or family, and Thomas does his best to help protect the Gladers. Thomas is hard and cold to the people from WICKED, as at the end one of their workers kills Chuck, one of Thomas’s

Thomas is the narrator and protagonist of the story. He arrives in the maze with no knowledge of who he is or was. He only remembers his name and nothing else about his life. Thomas proves to be brave and clever even though he only has a very limited memory of previous knowledge of the Maze. Since arriving in the maze, Thomas makes both friends and enemies and proves to be a leader among the other boys with him in the maze.

“Runner, he thought as he went on break. Just let me be a Runner. Once again he thought about how absurd it was that he wanted it so badly. But even though he didn't understand it, or where it came from, the desire was undeniable” (Dashner 106). Thomas, the protagonist in The Maze Runner by James Dashner, wakes up to find himself in a glade surrounded by a labyrinth keeping Thomas and other boys stuck with no way to exit. Until Thomas shows up at the glade, boys called “Gladers” had given up on the idea that they could find a way out of the maze and had started creating a lifestyle there. May 8th 2014, a Thursday night on a school night. At the time, I was 13, nearly finished with middle school and soon to be graduating onto high school. On this particular night, I sit at my kitchen table across from my older sister, both grasping our 3DS's playing our favorite game at the time: Animal Crossing. In the midst of an intense competition of catching fruit as we race against the clock, my mom moseys into the kitchen and sits between us. She demands that we put down our consoles. My sister complies, whereas I ignore her and attempt to finish up my game. My mom then forces me to end my game, explaining that she desperately needs my attention. She gathers herself and thinks for a moment, finally spitting out the words “I'm moving out”.

“The Maze Runner” is a book that was written by James Dashner, he made a series about it. His book was the bestselling book in New York Times, so they made a movie about it. The book was mostly about young men were put in a maze, due to a disease that was attacking the people outside it. They had to escape the Maze. Thomas was the guy who figured out the code to get out of the Maze. The book was amazing to read, and the movie was wonderful to watch. However, there will always be differences and similarities between the movie and the book.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner is a young adult/ science fiction book which takes place in a maze known as the Glade. Some of the most important characters include Minho and Thomas. Minho is one of the most interesting characters in the book. He was the leader of the boys, called Gladers, and one of the wisest characters in my opinion. Thomas is the main character of the story. Despite his memory loss, he helps guide the Gladers out of the maze they have been placed in. His strong efforts to save the Gladers and do what’s right has earned him the respect and trust to become a leader.

It began when my family and I were going to six flags. We were getting on roller casters. Both of my brothers were laughing and I was screaming. Then suddenly my brothers were playing around and they got lost. They were playing around with me, they kept saying boo and creepy things. After that my brother quietly creeped up to me and they scared me so bad.fianilly we went on the biggest roller coaster in six flags my mom stared to yell so loud.

The famous book The Maze Runner by James Smith Dashner, is the famous story about a young man named Thomas who wakes up in the middle of a metallic box that serves as an elevator with no memory of his past, the box opens up to a place called “the Glade” with 60 other boys staring back at him as he tries to run away pass them. Every thirty days a new boy or supplies arrive from the box and for three years they have lived together trying to find clues through the maze that surrounds them; but as they start losing hope it all changes when something unprecedented happens and a girl along with a note arrive through the box. The book along with amazing imagery and relevance to today’s world manages to attract more than just teenagers but anybody that is up for the challenge of the maze, and that is just the purpose of this paper to demonstrate multiple reason of why this book not only deserves to be read but it should hold a place in the literary canon.
