It was near the end of my 8th grade school year, about 2 month away from graduation, when something I never expected to happen actually happened. This event really changed my life forever and shaped me into who I am as a person today. I had just arrived at my house after school when my parents received a call that my grandma was ill and that we should come down to check on her. As we rushed down to my grandparents house, my family was deeply concerned about what may have happened because my grandma had never really had many health issues before this. As we arrived at their house and walked through the door, we were greeted with the sight of my grandma sitting in a chair with a blanket around her while she was sleeping. My family’s first reaction
Ryder’s class. So, then I realized that My laptop was in my room. So I opened the door slowly and want to my table and grab my MacBook. Then when I was coming back I fell down on the floor. “Boom”!! Immediately my parents came upstairs like they were going to go run a race, and like they were going to win. They saw my door opened. My sister came to my room with her phone, and says” should i call the doctor, or should I call 911, or wait should I go get your phone and call the doctor”. “Go get my phone, and call the doctor as quick as possible” dad reply after hearing my sister Brooklyn talk a

I was woken up with mom at the foot of my bed saying “Wake up sweetheart wake up” it is a beautiful day in Canada witch is where I live. As I get the gunk out of my eyes so I could so my mother clearly and I ask her what was wrong because she had never woke me up at 5:45 in the morning with out it being bad or something happened to the family. I got scared and my father, sister, and brother came into my room and was saying.“Calm down your going to be okay just pack your clothes, some of your personal items, and some food NOT caned food". Next I was getting ready and Carter my brother came into my room witch he had never done and told me him and dad would protect Kelsey, mom, and myself. As I walked into the kitchen we all picked different kinds of food and water. We started walking out the door and I said "Wait I need my picture of all my friends so i would remember them"so I went and got it.
It was late one day in June, and the sky was as blue and clear as sparkling wine. I sat back in my hammock reading the book Unbroken enjoying myself, and my uncle came up and asked me if I wanted to play poker with him, 5$ buy in. I jumped at the idea finished my page and went inside the house. Poker is a pretty big thing in my family and I’ve grown up playing and my uncle was one of the best, so spending time with him playing poker is always one of my favorite things to do. We proceed to set up the table, “Texas Holdem“ he says, Jacks to open”. Nothing weird, so we get the game going and the pots getting pretty big when all of the sudden he drops his cards. I stare the cards dead in the eye and see that i'm going to surpass him! He looks
May 8th 2014, a Thursday night on a school night. At the time, I was 13, nearly finished with middle school and soon to be graduating onto high school. On this particular night, I sit at my kitchen table across from my older sister, both grasping our 3DS's playing our favorite game at the time: Animal Crossing. In the midst of an intense competition of catching fruit as we race against the clock, my mom moseys into the kitchen and sits between us. She demands that we put down our consoles. My sister complies, whereas I ignore her and attempt to finish up my game. My mom then forces me to end my game, explaining that she desperately needs my attention. She gathers herself and thinks for a moment, finally spitting out the words “I'm moving out”.
It began when my family and I were going to six flags. We were getting on roller casters. Both of my brothers were laughing and I was screaming. Then suddenly my brothers were playing around and they got lost. They were playing around with me, they kept saying boo and creepy things. After that my brother quietly creeped up to me and they scared me so bad.fianilly we went on the biggest roller coaster in six flags my mom stared to yell so loud.
Sitting in a hospital waiting room, alone, afraid; and waiting for the news; would she be ok? Would she even survive? My nerves were out of control; my heart was beating through my chest, you could literally see it thumping through my top. The beads of sweat racing down my forehead, as if I was in the middle of the Safari dessert. I have been an athlete my entire life, yet I have never felt so physically drained. I look around, my eyes opening, then closing; as if I am coming in and out of consciousness, then suddenly echoed words begin to ring around my ear drums….” Sir…...sir, can you hear me? Sir please, we need to know what happened. We need to know what happened to her. Maybe my motionless state showed my
Dan and I were sitting on our sofa watching Fullmetal Alchemist. I wasn’t really paying attention, as Dan’s wrist was facing upward and uncovered by the bracelet he usually wears. The name on it was so boring sounding, “Brad Smith.” He’s probably an office worker, with a boring life. Probably lives in an apartment building like ours, but his flat is twice the size of ours.
When I got fired from my job over the summer I realized there wasn't a lot to do. I was bored. This led to me exploring the woods around my house.I found lots of things, old oil cans, empty budweisers, and coyote traps, but the biggest thing I found was a trailer.
I woke up in a cold sweat. My brother at my side still shaking me yelling “Emily we are going to be late!” I gave him an evil eye and rolled out of bed. I got dressed and ready and got on the bus. My best friend was there reading, like always. “Hey Wendy, what are you reading this time?” I said as I sat down “The Starving Maze” She said proudly. Like most fangirls, she has a crush on a make believe character that is played by someone that lives in Europe, or California, or Canada. In the book she has a crush on ‘Went’ which is short for ‘Wenton’. Anyway, she wishes she could meet this person and marry him. Remember that he is fake, I hope. At school everyone was looking sad, with no joy at all, even though it was the last day of school. I was
My story is an interesting one. The first major thing that happened to me was my family's move to Peru. I lived there for two years, from when I was seven to nine years old. I did learn to speak Spanish pretty well but sadly, I did not retain it for long after we moved back to the United States. Living there was a huge blessing to me, it taught me how to adjust to whatever life throws at you. Anyone who has ever moved knows it can be hard to readjust, but moving to another country teaches you how to adjust to almost anything. The second significant event that happened to me was my start of becoming a runner. Running taught me to be tough and to fight through the pain to become stronger and get to the finish line. Another event that has shaped
At a certain point in people’s lives, time seems to stop and they become stagnant, almost as if they can’t progress any further. It’s at this point that they are given a choice to move forward, and at a young age I was also given that choice. When I was in elementary school, I was told by many people trying wouldn’t get me anywhere because I was naturally bad at many things. I was told that I had no talent and even if I did get better I couldn’t be compared to my peers. This idea didn’t seem right to me and I immediately questioned it, however for a long time I let their words get to me. I remained one of the slowest runners in my grade, I had some of the worst grades, and I thought it was just how the world worked. Although, I let their words affect me, I didn’t really believe them.
I hear noises coming from my room, I walk upstairs and see that the door is closed, I peer in, “I don’t know where Donnie is my lord”, Sarah talks into a silver flip up transmitter, “find him, I need him alive” Bob says angrily. I shut the door, but it made a loud sound, Sarah looks over and thinks, oh no, my cover is blown. I walk out to the backyard and stand facing the back fence looking out onto the ocean, thinking how did I miss that she is a cleaner? A few minutes later Sarah comes out and stands next to me, “you had me going when you told me about your dream yesterday” I said, “How can I trust you now?” I continue. “Yes it’s true, I am a cleaner” she admits, “I was going to tell you, I swear Donnie”, “when? Right before you kill me” I asked. “The truth is, I don’t want to be a cleaner anymore, I hate it” she starts to tear up, “and then I met you, and thought my life could be different”, “and I’m supposed to believe that?” I asked, “yes” she answers, I look deep into her eyes and see no trace that she is lying “yes it’s true I was supposed to bring you back to Og to be killed, but I fell in love with you the moment I say you”.
Divorce. A shaping tool that impacts the child’s future immensely. With no additional income source, my fresh off the boat mother had to work constantly to keep the bowls filled with rice. However as a direct result, I would have to take care of myself as my mother was rarely at home. My strict mother would never let me outside so I filled my time with video games. Alone with my video games, no one can question my actions or behavior. With only a mother as a role model, I develop a feminine personally. I thought I was just a normal boy, and growing up with this mentality became problematic. Combined with my mentality and higher pitch voice, people would make fun of me and never took me seriously. I never understood why causing me to stay in
