The Medium or channel is often mixed up with the notions of dissemination channels such as television and other electronic/ print media. But it is essentially about getting a thought from your head into someone else’s head. To do this thoughts are into messages that other people can understand. Those messages take many different forms from gestures and facial expressions to noises like laughing or spoken words. Speech (language) is simply one of many forms of communication that are available to human beings.(Luthian)

Juliana Chan, in one of her articles published on CULTURE, SOCIETY AND THE STATE IN ASIA forum says, “The primary function of languages is undoubtedly to facilitate interaction among people who may or may not come from different cultural background.”
