The biblical creed and doctrine in which my core religious beliefs are founded upon originates from the message of the Gospel of the good news of Jesus Christ, which is rooted in the significance of the life of Jesus Christ. In Scripture, doctrine refers to the entire body of essential theological truths that define and describe the message of our soon coming King's core beliefs. For instance, the word of God declares, “Those who accept Jesus Christ will live for eternity with him after they die”(John 11:25, 26; 2 Corinthians 5:6). Further clarification of the word states, "Christians will be raised from the dead when Jesus returns" (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17), and lastly, "God will create a new heaven and a new earth" (2Peter 3:13). Specifically,
Religion was involved with many things in a person’s life. It affects things like social status, relationships, the economy, culture, and politics. The complex ideas of religion and politics have shaped societies. The Puritans have set their goal to make their society and way of living connected to God in every way, shape, and form. In the seventeenth century this standard to keep God by your side has deeply affected politics and lawmaking, and has even caused some people to be continuously persecuted. From the strength of their religious beliefs stemmed these radical ideas, which deeply affected lives in the 17th century. Though these ideas were a way of life at one point in time, if these ideas were applied to our government today the
Based on my analysis, I explain that AMC leaders who happen to be Christian leaders should understand what is leadership before getting into overarching goals from a Christian perspective and how should they should be handled properly. AMC leaders should explore the Christian principles by laying a strategic plan that is easy to understand and use it effortlessly and efficiently. However, when a leader keeps his maintenance of Christian’s core values and beliefs, he should be comprehensive and concise on where he leads his followers in his organization. “In regard to maintaining core values and beliefs, a common theme was that focusing on what you believe to be the ‘right thing to do’ gives a sense of personal integrity, self-worth, and even accomplishment—no matter what the final outcome” (Shaw, 2012, pg.59). Therefore, from a Christian perspective, a leader should seek and serve God and those he shows the way strategically in his organization.
Growing up I thought of church and the bible as something that was out of my reach intellectually. With this being a central thought, I just decided to table the hearing and understanding of the truth of Jesus until I was an adult. As an adult, I have learned a great deal about what Jesus Christ was about and why He died on the cross, however, I did not think of the gospels as hinging on the kingdom of God. I knew Jesus as many people do, as my savior and one who loves me to the point of dying on a cross for my sins. Gordon Fee articulates this well as he explains Jesus' ministry and purpose of His ministry. My understanding of the gospels are now clear in that the kingdom of God is the pearl and gold nugget that we are attempting to obtain
Yes, all religions carry out funeral ceremonies, but they carry them out in different ways, showing that there can’t be common ground.
The four sources of Christian theology are: scripture, tradition, reason, and religious experience (Blackwell, 2017 pg.104). Scripture is explained to be used for Christian living, and instruction written by God. Old Testament tells of God’s dealing with the Israelites, and how they lived sinfully in the sight of God. While the Israelites did not live the way, God commanded them to live which was by the Ten Commandment ways, God still loved them unconditionally even after he punished them. When it comes to the New Testament, God’s only begotten son Jesus came unto the scene. Jesus came to this world to seek and to save that which was lost Luke 19:10, Matthew 18:11 KVJ). The New Testament tells of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and with the blood that he shed, believers will be
All through history, religion and what God someone follows has drastically affected their lifestyle by affecting their political statuses. The way someone lived was determined by what religion they followed politically, economically and socially. Most colonies official religion was Anglican/Church of England or Christianity but some did not have an official religion which created problems. The slaves that were forcefully immigrated to the colonies were not able to practice their own religion because some owner were extremely religious and other were not able to connect to their God or Gods. American history demonstrate that religion and the God someone followed had drastic effects with politics by not being able to be part of it, economy by not being able to own any land and make money for himself , and society by not being about to join any communities or organization extremely affected slaves to reach true happiness in the place they call home.
Core doctrines are apart of the Christian faith and should be taught no matter what the denomination is. Doctrines are not negotiable throughout the universal Christian churches. However, churches may have different dogmatic beliefs, because there are not set in stone and vary. Theology is defined by Beth Felker Jones as being “the study of the things of God, a God who loves the world.” Theology is a practice that affects Christians’ lives in many ways: the way that they think, live, and how they talk about God with others. The “law of prayer” suggests to Christians that they are living a whole life of discipleship where they should continue to build intimate relationships with God. There are many core doctrines that we must use in
The influence of Evangelical Protestantism in my worldview refines the belief in only the scripture. As a child, I attended a church every Sunday that had “Sola Scriptura” inscribed on the pulpit. Every sermon that the pastor preached was based entirely on scripture and I stand by this view of the Christian religion. From this standard, my belief includes the necessity to personally ask Jesus into your life and ask for His saving grace and mercy, the understanding that the only source of salvation is through Jesus’s sacrifice, requirement of sharing the Gospel, and a rapture of all Christians before the Great Tribulation.
Christian leaders should generate their decisions in the image of God’s word. Luke 6:31 New International Version (NIV) states “do to others as you would have them do to you.” Therefore, it is imperative that leader’s decisions refrain from manipulating, lying, cheating or stealing.
While the Holy Bible is filled with many different types of writing, including history, narratives, poetic literature and apocalyptic, it forms a cohesive theme that tells me where I, and all things originated from, as well as my purpose in this world. Because the Holy Scriptures give, what is to me, a plausible understanding of who I am and how my life matters, I have discovered that I want to align my life and future in accord with its directives and commands. The reason that I hold these writings with such high regard is because the Holy Bible says of itself that God breathed it out onto men to write down and that it contains the very instructions needed for me to live a life that is honoring of God and worthy of what God deserves. II Timothy 3:16-17 states, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work”. For this reason, the Holy Bible has taken on a role of great importance in my life and because it is the very revelation of God, revealing who God is and how God has worked and continues to work throughout history, I have determined that it is foundational to my faith and a practical guide to direct me in determining the course I should take in this life.
Although my parents are moderates, I’m definitely a liberal. My beliefs closely align with the liberals. For example, I believe that people should look to the government to provide a structure. Laws are enacted to protect every individual for an equal society sometimes at the expense of economic freedom if necessary. Additionally, I’m very liberal on controversial social issues such as abortion, equal rights for gay couples, and equal pay for equal work. I also support rules, regulations, and restrictions around the right to bear arms.
Hendrikus Berkhof's definition of dogma states, "a doctrine, derived from Scripture, officially defined by the Church, and declared to rest upon divine authority" (Enns 2014, 505). Denominations, churches, and ministries will often post their doctrine online to describe their core beliefs. Published doctrine is helpful and important as it binds and anchors a community of believers around a set of strongly considered beliefs based on Scripture and developed in a systematic way.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ separates Christianity from all other religions. Christianity without the literal, physical resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is merely one religion among many. "And if Christ is not risen," said the Apostle Paul, "then our preaching is empty and your faith is in vain”. (1 Corinthians 15:14) Furthermore, "You are still in your sins!” Paul could not have chosen stronger language. (Mohler)
I am Christian who believes in God, the Father; God, the Son(Jesus Christ); and God, the Holy Spirit, as three in one. Christianity is a relationship to me, not a religion. My commitment in my christian life encourages me to share God’s love. My chosen vocation is teaching infants and toddlers. While I am already making a great contribution to my community and my church, having a teaching degree will strengthen my Christian values, broaden my knowledge base, and equip me with skills necessary to impact my corner of the world.
