As a Spanish teacher, I believe the purpose of education is to learn so you can go out into the world and survive. Being able to communicate, have teambuilding skills and self-direction are the foundations of learning. My goals for teaching Spanish is that the students know how to communicate effectively. I do not want them to list off vocabulary but be able to apply it to a real world context. I want to teach Spanish because I love the idea of another language with the cultural aspects. Students learn best by doing, they can do worksheets but I believe students doing things hands on, crafts and interactive activities will help them acquire the language easier. The most effective methods for teaching are being in a communicative environment where the language is spoken through dialogue, creating stories, brain links, and more. Also, I am interested in Total Physical Response (TPR), where the students associate words with actions. This can later be tied to storytelling (TPRS), where the students act out the narration showing their comprehension. I know this because I have done this with students, and they surprising learn and grasp the language better. The most important aspects of my teaching are motivation and teamwork. Without motivation students would not want to work, the class environment needs to be warm and welcoming. I do not want the students to be scared to learn another language, but open to the idea of it. Teamwork is also key because working on your own can be
First, learning Spanish opens the learner to new knowledge. A new language leaves us knowledgeable. Knowledge is admirable as it opens us up to new opportunities and to
It has been my dream since Elementary School to become an Elementary School teacher. The decision to attend college has not always been an easy decision. I have many goals to obtain my college degree. I have had many conversations about attending college. Some conversations being very helpful and persuasive, some being very negative and nerve wrecking. The school that I chose to attend in the end was Alabama State University. I promised myself that this school will make me the best teacher since I chose my favorite teacher.
My mom is one of the motivations for me to continue and finish my education. Despite everything my mom sacrificed for me I was stubborn and lazy and barely attempted to pass my classes which in the end added more stress to my mom’s list. I’ve always disappointed her so I feel in order start to pay her back for everything she’s done I need to finish school by graduating high school and college then helping her out with money. She’s always motivated me to do better to show other people who looked down on me that I can do better. Many other things motivate me like the need to succeed because of the people who didn’t believe I could do anything because I slacked off when I was younger. People would always say that my mom raised us wrong and after we stopped going to private school and began going to public school. They looked down on my mom and my sisters as well as me. They would always talk bad about us behind our backs despite being related to us. Fake smiles when we were around from when I was young despite never doing anything bad to them. They’ve helped me want to show them that I will do better than them to show them how their doubt has pushed me. These things and people are very important in my life because they give me the will to continue and be better than I am now and be better in the future too.
One way that I know will help students learn a new language is from their environment. People learn language from being emerge, the hear it all the time, they speak it and it is spoken to them. People learn a new language when they are continually hearing and speaking the language.
Tasks and responsibilities for this career are all very different and must be done on a daily basis when getting the students to comprehend and understand the new teachings. Foreign Language Teachers must make sure to interpret the terminology and translate it into the student’s natural language to help them understand better in their learning. They must also provide instruction in the literature and also in the history of the culture so that the students will be learning correctly. Professors should also tests students frequently to see their progress so that they know exactly where they’re at. These tests and other activities will show the teacher if the students understand to read, write, and most importantly the overall understanding in the dialect. If the instructor sees that the students may need a bit more of help with understanding, it is recommended that the students work in small groups so that other learners that have a better understanding of the language can help the ones that don’t really understand. Professors should also ensure students that they are in a
A second language teacher has a significant influence on how the learners will achieve in their learning or fail. First and foremost, a second language teacher should understand the other language's culture to build a communication bridge between her and the learners. Once students feel valued and their culture is respected, they will feel motivated and try to discover the second language enthusiastically. The effective teacher cares about a learner as a human being.
Becoming a teacher has been a personal goal of mine since I was 15 years old. I always knew I had a knack for teaching, that teaching would be the career for me. Ever since I started my gymnastics job back in 2015 teaching children from the ages of 3 to age 16. I love working with children in educational environments. Being able to have my own little class and associating myself with children everyday made me understand how much I would enjoy teaching a classroom full of students. After factoring in the parent's role, teachers play a secondary parent role. This is an important part in a child’s life, sometimes being their only expert of support and encouragement. As a secondary guardian and teacher, I want to get to know my students; to get a better understanding of their personalities’, where they stand in academic levels, how they need to be taught etc. I want to meet their needs and create the best learning environment possible for them and for me.
As a teacher, my objective is simple if it can be described that way. I want to help students to be able to think outside the box or more critically. One of the best parts of literature is that it means different things to different people. Literature has the ability to touch the lives of others and give them significance. This is my objective to have students find the meaning of a text not by just using what is in the text, but by using their critical thinking skills and find a different meaning to the text than just what is written. There is also the bonus that a critical thinker has the possibility to become a person to inspire other thorough their writing. If I can inspire students to find their inner writer and write not just what they see on a page but what them themselves want to inspire another I would have accomplished my objective as a teacher.
As a young girl, I dreamed of what I wanted to be when I grew up. My decisions would range from a princess to a trauma nurse, at one point I wanted to follow my dad’s footsteps and be a truck driver and travel the country. However, one day I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to be a teacher to teach young minds, to guide them in the right way, but most of all I wanted to make a difference in the world. Through the classes that I have taken at Athens State University and experiences in which I have endured while observing in local schools, I have developed my own philosophy of teaching. My career goal is to become a great teacher and mentor, and I have the determination to do what is needed to be done in order to achieve my ultimate career goal. Throughout my philosophy, I will elucidate on the elements in which will play major roles within my courses and how I see myself teaching my future pupils.
Becoming a teacher is not something I always knew I want to do. When it came time for me to start considering what my future career would be, all I knew was that I did not want to be stuck in an office behind a desk every day. I wanted to do something where I could make a positive impact on other people’s lives, and be around sports. I wanted a job that would be interactive, challenging and exciting. While searching for something that would fulfill these goals I found that teaching could do just that as long as I do everything I can to become an effective teacher who contributes to the world in an important way.
I feel that the over-all purpose of education is to give children the knowledge necessary to help them succeed in the real world after they have finished their schooling. It is my opinion that education is very important because the world around us is moving so fast and one must be educated in order to keep up with changing times. Something new is being found or applied frequently in our society. Your education doesn’t stop with school, you will learn something new all the time for the rest of your of your life regardless of your profession. Having a good education will prepare you for the certain upcoming changes that will happen in your lifetime. As a teacher, I want to help my students prepare for the future. I want to always be knowledgeable about recent findings in my field. I want to be an easy going and very accessible teacher for my students. I want to teach at a level that all of my students will understand, but also gives everyone something they can apply to their future or daily lives. Most of all, I want to make my class fun and interesting for all of my students. This will help them learn more and have a better understanding. I hope that through my
My objective as a teacher is to make a difference in the lives of the student I teach. Similarly, through teaching I will provide students with the necessary tools to become critical thinkers. As critical thinkers, my students will be able to make reasoned judgements that are logical and well thought out. My students will not just passively accept arguments and conclusions; my students will be equipped to question arguments and conclusions. Additionally, as a critical thinker, my students will be able to understand the logical connection between ideas. Also, through teaching I’m equipping my students with the tools that will lead to greater chances of success.
By the time I've learned each method of teaching my position about them changed many times. We passed through many of them: Grammar-Translation, Audio-Lingual, Naturalistic Approach, Communicative Language Teaching etc. I've been thinking about which one of them is the best for me, and all of them has advantages and disadvantages. I couldn't decide the one method for me, so decided to combine all of them. My ideas about combination of best advantages of all methods is focused in Eclectic Approach.
Teaching has been my personal passion ever since doing my work experience where I got the precious chance to work with teachers and see first-hand their enthusiasm for excellence no matter how unlikely the student is to succeed. Although I’m doing a degree in accounting I regularly help out children in my neighbourhood with their homework and have also observed lessons in a local high school this has further cemented my desire to become a teacher I have spoken to practicing teachers which have debunked a few prior myths I had about teaching. I did this in a local private school, I was asked to observe and assist the year 11 students as they finished their ICT coursework. It was a very stressful environment as many of the students were behind with the deadline approaching, nonetheless I felt I really connected with the students and feel I made a real difference to their final grade. Some of the teachers there pointed out to me that several of the students had done much better this year than they had done in the last and in previous years. This Vital piece of experience was one of my main reasons for wanting to teach in a secondary rather than a primary school.
By the end of my lesson, I will drive them to communicate slowly so that their articulation will be clearer and more precise. Similarly, I will help my ESOL students to make a superior advance by motivating them to talk more often with their native speaker classmates and to watch and listen just the target language. I’m going to tell them what they do satisfactory and give them some advice on what they need to work on. My main goal when dealing with these students will be to support their confidence in the classroom. I will arrange a set of distinctive instructional media and methods to help them learn the terminology and the ideas that are being communicated. I will never allow them to consider that they are less important than someone else in the classroom.
