After taking the lifestyles inventory interpretation test I recognize my primary and secondary thinking styles, which are passive and defensive styles. I scored higher in the conventional and dependent styles. The achievement and humanistic –encouraging closely followed my primary and secondary styles. The percentile scores were 90%conventional, 87% dependent, and achievement and humanistic-encouraging were both 75%. As regards to my conventional styles, I agree with some of the perception of what was listed about who I am. A conventional manager or chairperson is one who has a tendency to avoid conflict, very respectful of others, and reliable and steady. I have worked in management most of my career and I do a very close job with work and with people I’m around with what I’ve listed. I’ve been very successful with work and being a chairperson in a couple of positions in church with avoiding conflict and allowing others to use their ideas and skills to lead different events, this has proved to be very productive for the committees that I chair. The individuals involved in the committees that I chair offers help when needed and realize that I’m very easy to communicate with and easily to get along with, because I allow them to express themselves while listening carefully. They know that I’m a behind the scenes type person, just because I’m the chairperson doesn’t mean that I have to always be the one leading an event. I would rather watch them use their skills and
The brain is considered the most complex organ in the body. It is responsible for controlling motor function, the body’s ability to balance and the ability to translate information sent to the brain by sensory organs. The mind is described as the faculty of consciousness and thought. It’s where our feeling and emotions originate from and defines who we are as a person. The brain is composed of the visual cortex, which is responsible for processing visual information. In blind individuals the feature that makes up visions still exists in the visual cortex. These features are now used to process information received from the other senses. However, blind individuals are able to view the images because what’s in their mind.
Writing is a powerful tool for communication and connection. As an extension and expression of the mind, writing is as much about the mental processes of the author as it is about the final marks laid to paper. As we write, we hold in mind our own thoughts on the work, anticipate the reader’s thoughts, and think both in concrete and abstract ways in order to accomplish the task at hand. Whether an academic research paper, a novel, or text message to friends, writing seeks to engage, persuade, or impress concepts upon an audience. Like language and other art forms in general, the practice of writing is ever-evolving and is subject to cultural and contextual influence, expectations, and conventions. Each writer holds a theory
Like transforming from a caterpillar to a butterfly, my writing style transformed from something mediocre to something quite exceptional. In high school, even when I took advanced placement English and Literature courses, I was never good at writing. My writing would lack structure, reasoning, syntax, and a well-defined thesis statement. My inadequate grades on writing assignments lowered my self-esteem, so I assumed I would never enjoy writing papers because I believed I could never improve. However, since attending a university my writing style has improved far beyond my expectation. My EN 101 course enhanced my understanding of the different ways I could approach my writing. Also, it enhanced my comprehension of outlines to complete assignments. Investing quality time into my writing made a substantial difference because I became a stronger writer. Through the late nights, constant revisions, and agonizing head traumas, I learned that my writing is truly spectacular whenever I incorporate well-defined thesis statements, provide sufficient supporting evidence, and maintain a clear focus in my assignments.
Beliefs are the things that we hold dearest to us, believing that they are true and correct. Most of the time though, there’s no proof or evidence to support these beliefs. The biggest belief in many
1: People throughout the world are able to respond differently because everyone has a unique perspective at what is visually seen. The art one person can notice may not be art to another. Sometimes are brain plays a grand role when one has a certain perception towards an image. Also based on human characteristics, some people are judgmental of certain pictures because of life events such as religion, culture, or even family.
One style that I think might be working against me is that of the self-actualizing style. This style is the reflection of myself as an individual. I kind of believe that I should have scored a little bit higher than I did, but It is true, I do not take too much time for myself for self-reflection on how I can continue to grow as an individual and effectively diagnose my management styles and the effect this has on me as a manager. I need to create time and reflect on how I can continue to grow as a person so that there will not be gaps in how I operate at the management level. This is one of the categories that I feel is truly working against me as I will need to do this in order to grow and adapt into a good manager.
The purpose of public education is to enable students to be contributing members of society. Without it, the world would not be as we know it today in a very intelligent and complex society. Education is important in very many ways, probably too many to be listed. But I believe that among all other things that it allows students, by being educated, to live their lives in a way in which they can be successful in whatever they do. By learning about the trials and errors of those who came before us permits students to make well thought out decisions later on in their life. I personally hope to be able to better my students' lives by educating them about the overall curriculum and standards brought about
In reviewing leadership literature, my own leadership development analytics, and reflecting on my work, I believe my leadership style aligns well with the definition of Transformational Leadership as described by Hutchinson and Jackson (2013). Hutchinson and Jackson describe a transformational leader as one who has the ability to create a vision which provides meaning and motivation, as well as communicating that vision with enthusiasm and confidence (2013). According to my Situational Leadership Summary Profile, my preferred leadership style is Participating, which indicates that I am most comfortable leading by influencing others through encouragement, involvement and participation (The Center for Leadership Studies, 2017). Additionally, my personalysis report states that in my preferred style I enjoy people-type roles and undertaking organizational challenges. Furthermore, it indicates that
My back up personal thinking styles were tied. The first was achievement I scored in the high medium range with a percentile of 75%. Being in the high medium range this is explained that I probably am confident, direct honest and consistent. Mangers with this style tend to focus on excellence and that and the individual efforts are for a clear goal. The commitment to the organization and the individuals they manage is apparent. How to accomplish these goals is supported with
The online leadership and management style test that I used to determine the leadership style that my personality may accommodate was from the psych test website at testyourself.psychtests.com. After a 15 minute questionnaire, the site determined that my personality and principles were of a democratic style leadership. The qualities that a leader or manager of a democratic style may display the following traits: May includes employees in decisions that may affect the unit, motivate staff members by supporting and celebrating achievements and milestones, efficient communication exists between the up and down the chain of command, and they believe that cooperation and collaboration is necessary.
These week 1 presentations, readings and personality test and links provided will have an impact on my understanding of management and leadership personality types. My preconceived understanding of management and leadership are based on my experience as a manager in two different governmental organizations as well as a brief career doing consulting work in the private sector. In the following pages I will attempt to look at how my management and leadership experiences are reflected in my personality type from the test. The test determined that my personality type is (I)ntroverted, I(N)tuitive, (F)eeler, (J)udger, and in the coming weeks, I hope to find out if that assessment is accurate for me in my personal and professional relationships. According to Type talk at work INFJs tend to be “…inward, meditative and reflective (Introversion)…and there perception of life is to see endless possibilities…(iNtuition).” The text goes on to say that these “… symbols and abstractions are translated through …subjective , interpersonal decision –making preference (Feeling).” which is in turn “…acted out in a lifestyle that is structured, scheduled and

After contemplating my work / leadership style(s) and comparing how I interact with co- workers and subordinates, I agree with the results and will further discuss my reasoning in this paper.
The concepts of critical thinking and creative thinking are both gaining increasing importance in the world today. Critical thinking allows people to understand difficult concepts in a manner that is clearer and more defined. They can more readily understand those concepts if they employ critical thinking. In all portions of everyday life, a person is expected to make independent judgments. Those judgments are based on experience and knowledge. Without the ability to think critically, every situation that a person comes across would have to be considered in isolation from all other situations. When a person encounters a problem that is a new one, he or she may be able to use critical thinking to solve those problems.
Learning is obtaining skills through knowledge, study, or by teaching. Learning styles refers to a system of collecting, processing, interpreting, arranging and thinking about information. The questioning of established beliefs with the creation of
