History of Basketball According to fact monster basketball is played around the word by more than 250 million. The game of basketball is the only American sport that has travel around the world than any other American sport. Basketball was invented 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts by Canadian instructor James Naismith as less injury prone than football. He was trying to find sport that can be played inside during the cold winter The game of basketball quickly became very popular as 20th century progressed, first in the United State and then around the world. According to Wikipedia basketball Naismith came up with first 13 rules for the new game. At first there was 18 kids and 9 on each team. The objective of the game was to throw the ball into the basket nailed to the lower railing of gym balcony. Every time somebody scored a point the game was paused, so they could get the ball out of the basket using a ladder. After a while they got sick of pausing and climbing to get the ball, the bottom of the basket was removed. The first ever public game was played in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 11, 1892.
At the early stage of basketball there were only thirteen rule of basketball. One the ball could be thrown any direction with both or two hands. Two, the ball maybe passed with one or two hands in any direction. Three a player cannot run with the ball, the player must throw it from one spot on which he catches it.
