The National WWII Museum, originally founded as the D-Day Museum in 2000, offers visitors the chance to delve into the history and legacy of “the war that changed the world.” The museum features exhibits, multimedia experiences, and an extnesive collection of artifacts and first-person oral histories, as well as a period dinner theater and
The 9/11 memorial and museum in New York City, is one of the most brilliant, exquisite, and complicated memorials ever made. Even though the memorial sets out to commemorate the awful event that affected not only the people killed in the event but also all their friends and family members that were affected, the memorial does a great job to achieve that goal, but even still there is still some controversies surrounding the memorial. The Most prevalent controversy is with the names on the walls around the memorial. The name of one of the people killed in the event was not included due to his name and his nationality.
Founded in 1965, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History showcases the world's largest permanent exhibit on African American culture. My visits there are always educational and profoundly moving. The museum has an incredible perspective on the past and the present journey of African Americans. At the same time, it takes us on a comprehensive journey of the African American contribution to the world. Today, I will take us on that journey and paint a vivid image of Charles H. Wright Museum.
In this book, the author describes the long process it takes to create a national museum that will commemorate the Holocaust. He covers issues such as, the location of it, the design and construction aspects of the museum building. He informs readers about how they’ve tried to represent the Holocaust through the museum with sensitivity. I will use specific facts from this book to show that this museum was built with the help of many and required a lot of thought into it. I will show that this museum does in fact show sensitivity to an individual.
I visited the National Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center in Wilberforce, OH and inside this museum there are four different exhibits. After walking around for a while I came across this exhibit that talks about the History of Wilberforce University. It was very interesting to hear about the area from back then until now. It was very different back then but as laws began to get passed it changed. The exhibit on the History of Wilberforce University explores the start of Wilberforce university, the making of Central State University, and the uprising of Wilberforce University.
At the top of the almost 45 foot arch, is the word “Overlord” which was the codename that Prime Minister Winston Churchill gave for the operation. There is a commemorative ceremony very Veterans Day, Memorial Day and the anniversary of D-Day. Last year there was a celebration for the 72nd anniversary of D-Day. People spoke at the ceremony and they also dedicated a new plaque to the combat medics. They also wanted to read off the names of everyone that died during the Invasion of Normandy. This includes all 2,499 American soldiers, sailors, airmen, and coast

Summer students are integral to the operation of the Museum. They are to have a comprehensive grasp of the operations of the Museum to ensure they can be effective representatives of the history of the 8th Hussars. Doing so ensures that the public will have an interactive and intellectually stimulating exchange leaving the Museum with more knowledge than what they previously possessed.
June 6, 1944 will be remembered for many reasons. Some may think of it as a
The official name of the memorial is called The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. This name gives a clear stance on the history of the Holocaust and portrays the responsibility that the German government has taken for their wrongdoings against the Jewish people. Significantly, it was the first German government sponsored memorial, which further explains its importance. This reflects postconvetionalism in the way that the German government has acknowledged the truth of their role during the war. The truth is also explanatory in the name of the memorial; however, the physical structure does not display certainty of it being a memorial of the six million murdered Jews. The structure is beyond the binary and fixedness of other Holocaust
Museums have to keep in touch with customers to keep themselves in business. In this day and age, the way to keep in touch with most people is to have a presence on social media with the use of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. YouTube is also an option because it adds connectivity through videos and it gives the museum access to the users on the Google+ side of the social media network. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is one museum that has an extensive list of videos to help grow their customer base. Visitors can watch the videos of bands getting inducted from the present such as Cheap Trick or Ringo Starr, or visit the past and watch bands such as Led Zeppelin or The Beatles get inducted. This also adds to their Facebook and Twitter base

Museums related to the Holocaust are seen by some to be a “necessary evil.” How can we comprehend the catastrophe that is the death of eleven million? However, even if we might not be able to understand their suffering, we need to understand the history of the Holocaust. For years, Holocaust museums have relied on art, exhibits, and testimony to convey the story of the Holocaust. Yet as we progress further into the twenty-first century, all the survivors will pass, and the means of conveying must change. For instance, the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center have plans to put in place a VR (virtual reality) exhibit that lets you ask questions to a “virtual” survivor of the Holocaust. While this innovational use of VR is impressive,
On November 27th, 2017 I visited Tacoma Art Museum (TAM) a regional museum that inspires and builds community through art. The museum is located at1701 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma, Washington State. I was opportune to view collections of Dale Chihuly glassworks, European impressionism, Japanese prints and America art. One of the collections I will like to talk on is the Anne Gould Hauberg exhibition which include some of Dale Chihuly collection. Anne Hauberg, John Hauberg her husband and Dale Chihuly are co-founder of Pilchuck glass school.
The WW2 memorial you could spot from afar. It was illuminated with the perfect lighting. The fountains looked very extravagant in the night when you walked down the granite stairs. The stairs were accompanied by these monolithic slabs of granite that had all of the 50 states on them. To your right as you entered the Pacific entrance, you could see the prominent Washington Monument surrounded by the 50 flags representing the states. To your right you can see the renowned U.S Capitol Building guarded by a steel fence. The memorial had multiple quotes engraved into the walls of the memorial from people who were influential during the war. This site was important to me because I enjoy learning about WW2. Knowing about the horrible events of the
