Many people believe that if you are going to choose between diet soda and regular soda, diet soda is the no-brainer choice. Seeing the word "diet" on anything automatically makes you think—this must be healthy. The problem is that manufacturers like to mislead consumers into thinking that their "diet" product is a healthier version of their original. When really, they are just adding chemicals to make the nutrition label look healthier. Diet soda is worse than regular soda because it causes many physical and psychological problems.

In addition I’m gonna talk about they’re Appearance. The giant panda is black and white it has a black circle around its eye. Giant pandas are like bears in a smaller size, and body shape. They can also stand on there back legs. The pandas can be up to 5- 6ft tall almost as tall as me. They can weigh around 220- 250lbs. But the males can weigh 350lbs . Next, many consumers believe that drinking diet soda is healthier for you than drinking regular soda filled with sugar but studies are starting to show that artificial sweeteners may actually lead to diabetes. Mary Ann Yantis, PhD, RN, a nurse educator for Nursing Education Consultants and Kate Hunter, RD, LD (2010), a clinical dietitian at Adventist Medical Center reports (2010) that drinking more than one serving of diet soda per day can increase your risk of metabolic syndrome by more than 36%. Metabolic syndrome is a group of risk factors, which includes hypertension, abdominal obesity, hyperglycemia and hypertriglyceridemia. These risk factors increase a person’s risk of developing diabetes, heart disease and stroke. This same study also reports (2010) that one diet soda per day can increase a person’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes by more the 67%. This is possibly due to the fact that artificial sweeteners can be up to 13,000 times sweeter than sugar and this intense sweetness can be addictive thus creating cravings for more sweetness in order to feel satisfied. Yantis and Hunter (2010) point out that the sweet taste triggers the same dopamine signals that are also triggered by drugs such as cocaine and heroin. Craving for more intense artificial sweetness will result in consuming more calories, increase the likelihood of developing insulin resistance, and more than likely affect the glucose metabolism (Yantis & Hunter, 2010).

In conclusion, there is nothing healthy about diet soda and it is simply water with artificial sweeteners and other additives, especially phosphoric acid. So the less soda you drink, the better. Liquid helps human’s body get rid of toxins that can cause a big risk for diseases like cancer. As you know, water has zero calories so it is one of the healthiest ways for people to stay hydrated. The Qinling giant pandas are a slowly diminishing species. If left unprotected they will eventually become extinct. Fan, Li, Quan, Wu, Hu, and Yang investigated the effects of road construction on endangered Qinling giant pandas. Road construction can greatly affect the environment. According to the article, the harmful effects of roadway expansion “extend to an area ten times broader than the roadway itself” (Fan et al., 2011, p. 145). It can cause harmful chemicals to contaminate water sources and food supplies. Subsequently, road construction isolates species from one another, and this in turn “blocks gene flow…, which steeply [decreases] genetic diversity” (Fan et al., 2011, p. 145). On the other hand, road networks can isolate these species from their main water source and/or food supply. The giant panda’s only food source is bamboo. Bamboo is a fickle plant that grows in certain habitats, under pristine conditions. Therefore, becoming isolated from bamboo forestry is detrimental to their survival. Researchers investigated the “impact of road construction on giant panda’s habitat and its carrying capacity in the Qinling Mountains” (Fan et al., 2011, p. 145).
Panda Bears mainly live in Central China in bamboo forests with coniferous and broadleaf trees that are 5000 to 10000 feet tall. They enjoy spending their time in cool and wet areas. When considering a place to live, Panda Bears look for two features; tall bamboo trees and a nearby stream.

Giant pandas are among the rarest mammals in the world. There are probably less than 1,000 left in the wild. Although adult giant pandas have few natural enemies, the young are sometimes preyed upon by leopards. Habitat encroachment and destruction are the greatest threats to the continued existence of the giant panda. This is mainly because of the demand for land and natural resources by China's 1 billion inhabitants. To offset this situation, the Chinese government has set aside 11 nature preserves where bamboo flourishes and giant pandas are known to live.
