This report will first examine the Testing Process Summary. This will include a definitive test plan which will identify the major functions of the systems software and hardware to be tested as well as the required system outcomes. Secondly, the installation process and training plan summary will be identified. For this portion of the writing, a Gantt chart will be used to identify the steps and related resources needed to implement the system. A narrative explanation that will discuss the impacts of time and conversion will be included. A description of the training plan will also be outlined. The administrative staff will need some time actually using the system to adequately familiarize them selves with the new system. The drivers will need a simple "show and tell" session on the procedures for using the time and pay system.
Documentation Plan Summary
The system documentation plan summary will consist of capturing any information during the life of the project. This information will become useful when troubleshooting the system in the future. It is important to begin the documentation early in the project as the information is needed. The documentation stage can be divided into two groups; system documentation and user documentation. In the system documentation detailed information of the system 's design specifications and its functionality will be documented. The user documentation will consist of written information of how the system will work and how to use it.
In the system documentation phase there will be a number of detailed records compiled. The eight phases of the project life cycle will be recorded in the system documentation category. The records derived from the system analysis and the system design phase of the project will be critical during the installation of the project. There are several techniques used in the documentation process. As a system analyst I would propose to the members of this group a straightforward standardized approach. A reasonable suggestion for this project would be to use the Procedure Manual technique for documenting this system. The Procedure Manuals will provide instructions on how to operate and understand how the system works. These manuals are also used as a guide that can be updated at different intervals for future users. Procedure Manuals are also made available to users via the Web. Another way of successfully gathering information is by building a prototype or model of the system, so that users can test or get an idea of what the finished product will be like. With this they can determine issues, problems, or inconsistency with the system. Another important part of gathering information is organizing it so that it can be understood and put to proper use. I propose categorizing the requirements into functional requirements, operational requirements, technical requirements, and transitional requirements. The functional requirements define how the user thinks the system is functioning overall, the operational requirements define what background processes need to be executed in order for the system to work optimally over a period of time, the technical requirements define what technical issues that must be addressed in order to successfully implement the system, and the transitional requirements define the processes or steps needed to implement the system smoothly and successfully. A: In the software lifecycle there are 4 phases that are derived from the old System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and they are as follow; Planning, Implementation, Maintenance, and the Removal process.
