Deciding on a career path is quite difficult, even I have not been able to decide on a career path yet. However, I am bearing in mind pediatric oncology, culinary, and cosmetology. The only cause of my second guessing in pediatric oncology is due to the amount of education needed, It will take a total of 14 years to major in pediatric oncology. Once I have completed those 14 years it will have been well worth it.
The first career, I am looking into is pediatric oncology, Pediatric oncology is what I am considering because it is one of the most inspiring jobs in my opinion. There are also a lot more pros than cons, I want to become a pediatric oncologist because of numerous reasons and that is one of them. A couple reasons are that I have

I am still not even sure how many years of education are required to specialize in culinary arts, also in comparison to the professional chefs I am still a beginner, yet some may even consider me inexperienced. Some reasons I want to get a degree in culinary arts is because I am creative I like food and I think cooking is fun. Also, because I do a decent job at it and some of the smells are wonderful. Creativity is a good skill to have in culinary, It is a good skill to have because, you want to put your own twist on things and make things your own by adding a pinch of this or a pinch of that.
Some advantages include doing things you like, running your own business, and just flat out the skill itself, the skill itself is an advantage because when you get married you want to be able to cook for your husband and your kids when you have them. Food is also a basic necessity you need to eat to live and you do not want to depend on friends, family, and fast food restaurants your whole life to cook for you. Some disadvantages include burning yourself and the food, some unpleasant smells, and customers with bad
The career I am curious about is in the medical field, generally speaking, nursing. I have chosen to become a registered nurse because of its background, and how its characteristics require the use of creativity, problem-solving, social skills, and critical thinking. Registered nurses use various skills to diagnose and apply certain care methods to specific patients. I know that nurses aid patients with various illnesses, diseases, disabilities, and injuries. I love helping people and the feeling I receive when helping people. It would also be very motivating to learn and discover things about the human body and how to fix any problems involving it.
A pediatric nurse would be the career for me because I work well with children and I find that helping children makes me happy. Being a pediatric nurse has many duties and personal characteristics needed; such as working with children and getting along with them easily. Being a pediatric nurse also requires many years of studying and also many costs, but in the end the wages and benefits make up for it. The work setting and employment outlook are looking good for the upcoming years. Having a career as a pediatric nurse requires a lot of responsibilities and duties but I feel that because I am hard working and easily get along with children this would be the right career for me.
I would like to go into the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner career field. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners help Pediatricians and other Physicians diagnose and take care of children from infancy to young adults. I have grown up with ten siblings and many more cousins, so I have learned how to deal with children of all ages. Also, I have been interested in the medical field since I was a little girl and I have always loved to help people. I would have liked to be a Pediatrician but I would prefere not be in school for another thirteen years, so I found that the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner was the perfect career for me.
My career goal is to become an Occupational Therapist and specialize in pediatrics. I want to specialize in pediatrics because I have always loved to be around children and be able to help them in whatever they need. Also, pediatrics is important to me because kids are our future and if I can help kids for their future I will be glad to do so. Helping kids become more independent on their activities of daily living makes me happy because I am helping them to become more independent and make them feel like they can accomplish anything. In order to be able to do this I have to get a Master Degree and I plan on getting this degree from Loma Linda University. In five years I see myself working in the Occupational Therapy setting and working with kids. I see myself, making others
The medical field is rapidly growing with so many different careers to choose from. There are many different things that you could specialize in. There are so many opportunities in the medical field for you to grow and become something bigger. A very interesting field to go in is a pediatric nurse. This specific career path interests me because when my little brother was 5 years old he suddenly woke up one morning with his body completely swollen. We immediately rushed him to the hospital. While at the hospital they told us that he had Nephrotic Syndrome. His kidneys weren’t properly working and he was leaking excess protein in his urine. Since that day I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to help others, especially kids in their
Diagnostic Medical Sonography is a career that I just learned about this year. I never expected to do anything in the medical field but the more I research about this career, the more it interests me. I love helping people and another career path I have looked at is something in pediatrics. With sonography, I would be able to look at the fetus and make sure everything is fine with the pregnancy. There would be many aspects of this job that I think I would enjoy.
I have had a passion for becoming a healthcare provider for children for quite a while (for a long time). Children are one of the most important individuals of society because they are the future and will one day be in charge of the world. Their health at a young age is indicative to how their health will be as adults. Childhood has a great effect on how a person turns out to be so I hope to help children I hope to use prevention and education to preserve and restore the health of my patients. My career goals are to prevent children from having to spend time in hospitals or in pain and to help them live out their life and dreams to the fullest extent. Children play a very large role in their families, and when a child becomes sick, the whole family becomes distressed. Pediatricians not only heal children, but they help and prevent a family from suffering. I love medicine and children, and I hope to combine these two passions by becoming a pediatrician.
The career that I had in mind when I first began college was one in counseling pediatrician. This career would be one that interests me with being with children. Even though I have been thinking about other careers this one still sticks with me that I want to do.
Going into college there are so many careers to pick to pursue. Many people already have their path already set, but many people come into college ready to explore their multiple options and see what fits them best. However, I knew where my educational journey was taking me before I knew what college I was going to. I wanted to pursue my passions and help every child I could along the way. Becoming a Pediatric Hematologists and Oncologists was not the easiest decision, nor was it my first decision. However, once I further explored this career, there is no other medical career I could see myself in. Now that I have decided my career path, I have decided my career goals, the requirements to be successful, and the approach that I will use to accomplish
As established in the National Cancer Institute, “Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide for children and adolescents in America, accounting for more than 91,250 children that lose their lives to this disease” (National Cancer Institute). Cancer is not considered a terminal illness, but more of a chronic illness because of the intense treatment that the individual has to endure. As a result of this treatment the chances of survival for children suffering from pediatric cancer has increased around 80 percent. The increment in the survival rate has made it possible for many parents to not have to go through the acceptance that they are about to lose their child to a terminal illness, but have coping strategies that will make them adapt to the fear of the reoccurrence of that illness. This illness has a great impact on the patient as well as the family because not only do they have to adapt to this illness physically, but also mentally. Research has shown that there are both short term and long term effects that come into effect when the child is both in treatment and also years after the treatment. The type of cancers that these adolescents have to endure range from leukemia, brain tumors and other cancerous tumors that have appeared in recent medical studies. These tumors can either be benignant, an acute case that is non-cancerous or malignant, a cancerous case that will need intense treatment over an extended period of time. While many would say there is more of a
My interest towards a career in culinary arts I credit to my need to create and perfect with every chance I get. I started cooking as a way to distract myself from my outside reality that was growing up in a very dangerous part of South Central Los Angeles, there were very limited resources for career readiness given to me throughout my life until I got to high school and became obsessed with my cooking class. I was 16 at the time and while my friends were out playing sports and going to social events, all I wanted to do was learn new techniques and experiment with recipes. When I turned 17, while a senior in high school, I decided that I did not want to attend university for the simple fact that I did not find anything but cooking to be exhilarating
I decided to seek advice from my parents and they encouraged me to look into the healthcare field. I explored and researched a plethora of careers that pertained to healthcare, but the one career that intrigued me the most was the study of dentistry. The most intriguing part of this discipline was the fact that, except for flying, dentistry was very similar to being a fighter pilot. The correlation between the two careers was astonishing. The visual acumen, the ability to see beyond what is in front of you, and the precision needed in aviation were all qualities needed to perform dentistry. On top of that, I would be able to be around family and I would have a more stability in my career. So, even though I would not be flying a jet I knew I would be getting the opportunity to incorporate all the things that attracted me to aviation and use it in
When you grow up, what do you want to do as a career? Do you want to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, architect, designer, or something else? I want to be a doctor, or a pediatrician to be more specific. A pediatrician helps children under the age of 18 with their health and body. That is why the career of pediatrician is in the health science cluster. Health science is where you help others with their health and body. I chose to be a pediatrician because I like to work with children, learn about the human body, and I like to help people recover from illnesses. It is so unfortunate that little children at the age of one can die because of fevers or other major health problems. I hope to help these unfortunate children live a normal life. In
My top career choice is a neurologist. I have chosen this career because not only is it financially rewarding, I can help people live a better life like I always dreamed of doing as a kid. I want to be the person to be recognized for saving lives. I know that this job would be a lot of hard work, but I think all my time would be worth it saving lives. The brain has always fascinated me since I was little, I was always eager to learn more, and discover more things. I realize that this would be a challenge, but it is a challenge I am up for!
Since my birth I have loved food, art, and creation, so I started cooking. Food is amazing in the way that there are no limitations. The art of cooking is limitless, a countless number of ingredients, ways to cook them, and tools to do what you wish with the food. Food is not only a tasty treat, but an art form, something that goes overlooked and underappreciated in our strange American culture.
