Fact: viewing violence can cause children to experience aggressive attitudes and behaviors. Children and teens often are affected by the people they surround themselves with. This can often include the celebrities or characters that they see on screen. Many people look up to the heroic actions of these characters but they also take away some violent habits as well. Some may say that since it provides 'heart-to-heart' and points that teen relate to the article “Hollywood Filmmakers Should Not be Villianized for Movie Violence” is more persuasive. This is not true. The article “Hollywood, Stop Exposing our Kids to Violence!” is more persuasive and is better proven with facts because it uses reliable statistics and has reasoning the many parents can relate to.

According to Gerard Jones’s “ Violent Media Is Good For Kids,” violent media indeed has a remarkable influence upon the minds and general growth patterns of children. Jones argues that violent media can actually have positive effects on young people.

Television is the mainstream of our culture. Violence on television has been a topic of conflict since before 1950. There have been repeated debates on how to protect children from the harmful effects of violence on television. Television is one form of modern media that influences the everyday lives of people. Televised violence has a major effect on how children perceive the world and how they behave. "American television has become the most violent in the world. Does violence on television have a negative effect on children and teenagers? The violence seen on television has had surprising negative effect. Violence shown on television causes children and teenagers to develop behavioral problems and learning disabilities. Such behavioral and learning problems include; language development, school performance / learning, cognitive development and their general behavior to others (Kinnear 27). When it comes to the topic of violent media, some of us would readily agree it’s a controversial subject as to whether kids should or shouldn’t be exposed to it. This is because many children who view violent media react negatively rather than not being affected at all. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of what effects does it have on children. Whereas some are convinced that it is a healthy alternative for kids to express themselves, others maintain that it causes kids to become more aggressive and contributes to juvenile crimes.

I am going to talk about gun control. In my opinion, people should have to have a license to carry a gun. I believe that the amount of people getting shot might go down.

One of the unique activities in high school around the United States is debate. This extra-curricular activity is the most influential activity one can participate in. Specifically, Lincoln-Douglass and Policy Debate because the amount of research and critical knowledge that is gained is amazing. Debate is an activity focused on preparing students to stand up for what they believe in. The activity requires students to analyze a topic known as a resolution, and then defending, supporting and critiquing that topic.

I agree that college should provide free parking and free coffee to students and professors in order for them to be efficient and energize.

The topics that I considered includes parenting, anger management, being a team player, life goals, and a group on turning weaknesses into strengths. I considered parenting because there is no perfect parent and every parent have skills they need to work on. I considered anger management because a lot of people take their anger out on others while they can use their anger towards other things. I considered being a team player topic because some people do not know how to work in

I will also share with them some I have taken if some of the major points have not already been stated. I will then let them use the rest of class to research the other debate topics. Great work class. Now for the rest of class I want you to research the other topics that we will be debate. So research how states wanted to be represented in the new Constitution and how states wanted slaves to be represented. Each debate has two sides so make sure to get both sides of the argument.

First, please let me say “sorry” for the late response of the topic selection for my incoming informative speech. I have been considering a topic that is not only audience- engaging but also doable for information gathering.

          Due to violence on television, children become less sensitive to that pain and suffering of others or to become more aggressive to others. It also makes children more fearful to the world around them. (Abelard 1) Viewing habits of children observed for many decades deduced that violence on TV is associated with aggressive behavior, more than poverty, race, or parental behavior. It also reported that a TV show contains about 20 acts of violence an hour.

In the book Critique of Violence ,author Walter describes Violence as "The intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, male development, or deprivation .The violence that is portrayed in the media has been debated for decades ,and it has rose a question about how does it influence the youth?. From movies to video games society has been accustom to seeing violence in their everyday entertainment. Since children are easy to be influence by their environment, it is safe to say that violence in the media can and will contribute to violent behavior.
