My personal values act as a basis for distinguishing between right and wrong and thus, determine my daily actions and emotions. My parents and education have played profound roles in the development of my core personal values: personal integrity, excellence, responsibility, family and ambition. Additionally, these influences have demonstrated certain rule-based, ends-based, and virtue-based approaches to determining what conduct is consistent with these key values. Because of my background, I place a special emphasis on maintenance of personal integrity, pursuit of excellence, acceptance of responsibility, love of family and achievement of ambitious goals. I have lofty expectations for myself with regards to my actions; on at least a …show more content…
A commitment to performance that produces exceptional results and quality as a way of life. A commitment to valuing the trust and confidence of my family, friends, co-workers, employers and/or clients and community. A commitment to spending time with my family, supporting them in all their endeavors and making them proud. A commitment to my personal image of what can be and my belief that it will be; a commitment to setting goals and systematically working towards achieving them. I also have a Code of Conduct: Conduct consistent with my value of personal integrity: 1. I will not change who I am for others, and I will stand up for my beliefs even when they are unpopular. If I’m not confident in myself and respectful of what I believe, then I cannot expect others to exhibit confidence in me and respect my beliefs. While it may be uncomfortable for me when other people disagree with my actions, and while my unpopular actions may not yield the most positive outcomes for me, my ethical decision making is often rule-based and virtue-based rather than consequence-based. To me, my motives (ex: honoring my commitment to respect individual human dignity) and …show more content…
One especially important professional commitment is confidentiality to my employer and/or client. Unfortunately, there will be times when my responsibilities to myself, my employer or client, my profession and society will come into conflict with each other, and some responsibilities will take priority over the others. In these cases, I will use virtue to juggle my loyalties to these different parties on a case by case basis. My reason for developing a career in communications is to serve the public through the delivery of accurate messaging to inform their decisions and ultimately improve society. Therefore, my duty to society is ethically greater than my duty to my employer or client, and is the “key to social responsibility”. 10. I will always make my family my number one priority. I will bring them joy and derive great joy from my relationships with them. No matter what else is going on in my life, my highest obligation will always be to my family. This is my rule, and my ethical decisions will follow it. I do however understand that not everyone lives their lives according to this rule, and I will not view them as immoral for breaking it. It is because my family and I have a very special
I endeavor to stand up for my beliefs, even when they are unpopular, and not change myself for others.
I have gained many new friendships because of my parents. Every day they support, annoy and love me unconditionally. I owe them both a lot even though they wouldn’t accept anything except a smile from me and my brother.
Chief among them is my obligation to maximize my potential every day in every way. Put simply, to be the best I can be in all things, whether it be family, school, sports or community, and to be so happily.
Quaker missionary, Etienne de Grellet, once said, “I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness that I show to any human being let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” If I could sum up the precepts upon which I hope to live my life, I would say that doing good things and showing kindness and compassion to all people I am entrusted with is my biggest desire in life. I hope that who I currently am, who I aspire to be, and the goals I have set for my future will reflect this mission.
what I hope to accomplish. I feel that what makes life purposeful is what we accomplish and
Acknowledging their humanity and letting them know that they were being seen and heard was important to me. Secondly I thought about the things that I did have. I wasn't living in poverty nor in extreme abundance but I was blessed enough to be able to enjoy life a bit so I decided that every time I went out to eat, instead of throwing my left-overs away I would put them in a to-go box and give them to a person in need. I also decided to use a pocket in my purse to store change that I would acquire from cash purchases and designate that money as the money to share with those less fortunate than I. Even though I didn’t have a lot to give I wanted to use the blessings that I had in my life to bless other

Commitment: Doing the right thing everywhere and every time and be persistent to achieve my goal.
You should always refrain from prejudging people according to their situations. Do not be quick to say many negative things about people whose cultural and religious backgrounds you do not understand well. You should try as much as possible to resist the impulse to make negative comments that could harm fond relations with these people. You should appreciate individuals based on their character and not based on cultural, religious and stereotyping. Every person has the right to do things his own way and this freedom must not be interfered with for
The success of our business is dependent on the trust and confidence we earn from our employees, customers and shareholders. We gain credibility by adhering to our commitments, displaying honesty and integrity and reaching company goals solely through honorable conduct. It is easy to say what we must do, but the proof is in our actions. Ultimately, we will be judged on what we do.
Personal ethic is what a person believes about morality and right and wrong. Ethic should and can give real and practical guidance to our lives: gives our best rational interests and without sacrificing others. My family, friends, and education have played profound roles in the development of my personal ethic: conscience, personal integrity, responsibility, and egalitarianism. Additionally, these influences approaches to determining what conduct is consistent with these key values.
However, if a circumstance where to prevail where an individual was to brutally attack an ideal of mine, I fully clung to- that is where my INFJ self will come out of the shadows of “being afraid to offend an individual” to openly come forth and defend as well as express my views.
Which of these are important specifically to you and your family? Why? Describe them in detail.
One of the most important necessities in life is to always make time for your family. A family is the foundation to everyone’s life. The outcome of your life is dependent on your family. Morals and values are obtained from your family circle. Therefore, people’s character and ethics are grown and strengthened through family.
What is important to you? The most important thing to me is living a worthwhile life that is important to my family and to my spiritual father. The best way I can see that this happen is by one giving back to the community. I was always the quiet, shy, scared, yet smart one of my family. My mommy was very strict, I mean very strict. I didn’t have the best living condition growing up. I was in and out of foster homes. I didn’t get adopted until I was thirty. Fast forward, I could not function nor comprehend well. But a lot of teachers that believed in me in the community took the time out to teach me how to count, write, and express myself. If it wasn’t for the ladies from my school and different case managers and therapist helping me out I
