Personal Mission Statement
Section I: My Role in my Education
I recently finished a diploma program at Remington College for Medical Billing and Coding in October 2010. I successfully completed 9 months of being on the Dean’s list and had perfect attendance throughout the program. I also received the Distinguished Graduate Award for most outstanding student of the Medical Billing and Coding program. I recently decided to continue my education to obtain my Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology. I will be finished with my Associate’s program in June 2012. In five years, I plan on working as a manager for a well-established organization. My ultimate goal is to continue my education until I obtain my Master’s Degree so that I

At this time I have been only marketing myself with a 50 mile radius from where I live. I am going to start job searching in a 100 mile radius and possible farther out. Right now I will take a job anywhere, no matter where it is at.
Based on all of the knowledge that I have learned in this class, I will be able to analyze the situation and use my critical thinking techniques to come up with the best possible solutions to my problem. Once I look at the problem from every angle possible, I can then apply the solutions based on my analysis of my present state and present issue.
Step 4: Decide on the Best Solution
Category | Need | Want | Rank | Education | Yes- I need this in order accomplish my goals that I set out to achieve. | Yes- I want to prove my family wrong and finally make them proud of me. | 1 | Utilities | Yes- I need my cell phone and internet for school purposes. | I can do without the cell phone because I have a land line. | 2 | Vehicle Expenses | Yes- I need a vehicle to be able to search for employment. | I can cut down on places that I go so that I don’t use gas but for places that I need to go. | 3 | Extracurricular Activities | I participate in a softball league once a week. | Yes- I could car pool every other week so that I save money on gas. | 4 |
Currently, the best solution is to find employment anywhere and eventually move out on my own. Usually when I want
I work in the place where people come to rehabilitate their lives after serious injuries. Many patients are there due to events that change their lives forever. Many of my patients are spinal cord injuries which left them paralyzed for life. This where two of my mission statements come from; To accept the things as they are, things that I have no power to change. To advocate for others when they can’t advocate for themselves.
Pertaining to the “day without cars” tradition the city of Bogota, Columbia : “It has seen the construction of 118 bicycle paths, the most of any Latin American city…” (Belsky, 3) A single day without cars has encouraged not only, new businesses to spring up and infrastructure to be improved but also physical activity to become more common in countries that implement such a tradition. In my own experience, a less sedentary lifestyle means lower risk of heart disease, obesity, and other weight and activity related ailments. In addition car usage reduction seems to lessen stress, a claim that mother of two, Heidrun Walter testifies to. “ ‘When I had a car I was always tense. I’m much happier this way.’...” (Rosenthal 1). This is a benefit that cannot be ignored as higher stress levels can take a toll on your mental health. Last but certainly not least, is the fact that less smog will discourage the pollution-induced respiratory illnesses permeating the developed world. Polluted air is not meant to be breathed and less of it is better for the whole of the
Many of the cars made today get great gas mileage. A Hyundai Accent can get almost 38 mpg, compared to a Toyota Tundra which gets about 15 mpg. On average a person who owns a tuck would spend about $30-$40 in gas a week, compared to a car owner who might spent $15 -$20 in gas a week. If you have a higher gas mileage, you should be saving money. With all the money you are saving from the gas mileage, you can save up for many different things you wanted such as college or a raining day. Many people who don’t have as much money would enjoy having a little extra money. They could save the money to help them out in hard
As a seventeen year old who is currently in between jobs (I’m only babysitting for a family two or three times a month), I do not have to travel very often or very far. It is because of this that I typically only travel to five different locations from my home. On the nights that I am babysitting, I travel 18 miles to the family’s home. I also travel to the local farmer’s market, which is only one mile away, the gym (6.5 miles away), church (18 miles), and to the movies (6 miles). In order to get to these places I drive the family car, which is a 2007 KIA Sportage and it is an efficient means of transportation.
Drivers can spend upwards $150 dollars a week on gasoline, but this is not the only negative impact driving has. Automobile inefficiency and the fact that they run on fossil fuels have detrimental and long term impacts on the environment. It has become increasingly apparent that suburban development in the future needs to focus on building communities that require less travel by traditional means and “closer knit”
Sitting in a classroom during the first course for my Administrative Credential, I still clearly recall the moment when I first heard that quote. I had been a classroom teacher for over ten years and yet I had not necessarily thought of or articulated teaching and learning through this lens. This quote and the ensuing discussion I engaged in with my colleagues that evening, resonated with me so strongly that it forever changed and guided my vision of education.
Owning a car can be a burden on an owner; they are very expensive to purchase, and require additional money for insurance, gas, and maintenance for the vehicle. Furthermore, encouraging people to bike and walk to nearby destinations rather than drive there could help resolve America’s obesity epidemic. In What Is the Total Cost of Owning a Car, the author provides information relating to various, auxiliary car expenses that can add up to appalling amounts. She says, “For an average vehicle that’s driven 15,000 miles a year, all costs of ownership added up to $8,698 a year, according to AAA’s 2015 Your Driving Costs study. That’s about $725 a month” (Lee). This means that it costs drivers a yearly average of nearly $9,000 to own and operate a car, let alone purchase one. By restricting the use of cars, people could save these expenses and put that money towards travelling, a new home, or other luxuries. On top of expenses, driving cars promotes unhealthy habits and contributes to problems for overweight Americans. In Mapping the Link Between Obesity and Car Driving, the author describes the correlation between cars and obesity, and how bikes can help resolve the crisis. She writes, “It stands to reason that the less you bike or walk, the more you drive. And the more you drive, the less exercise you get from the aforementioned activities” (Schwartz). The author also provides maps that illustrate links between areas with high percentages of obese adults and high percentages of people who drive to work. These two pieces of evidence demonstrate how slowly incorporating bikes instead of cars (for short trips) into a person’s life can have incredible health benefits. By restricting cars, people would be encouraged to utilize these alternate, healthy forms of transportation and ultimately enhance their lives. Notwithstanding, some people feel banning cars would make long distance
(ESSAY QUESTION #3) Justify why you agree or disagree with the statement and discuss how you plan to incorporate the Mission Command Philosophy in future assignments. I believe that the Mission Command Philosophy is good in principle as well as an excellent cornerstone for developing an organization while in command. However, leaders must understand that this is only a framework to build upon while leading an organization. Therefore, leaders must be able to tailor their needs as well as their leadership style to the Mission Command Philosophy to achieve successful outcomes.
I do have expectations placed on me, but it is because of the things my family wasn’t able to achieve. It is the opposite, and I do want to make them proud. I want them to know that everything they have done for me will be worth it in the end, and that I’ll set the example for future generations to
We all complain about the $4 gasoline prices -- many with good reason. Anyone who works 50 miles from home and gets 20 miles per gallon is using 5 gallons a day, or $20 just for their commute. That means they are spending $100 per week (not tax deductible) just to earn a living for their family.
“To support others in helping them grow academically, individually, passionately, and morally. I will accomplish this by using my knowledge, skills, compassion, and distinctive views in the belief that inherent good and potential resides in all of us.”
During the time spent in this class, I have learned about the methodology of critical thinking and how to better collect relevant information which can be used to formulate an argument. While taking this course, I also can use this within my everyday life when I approach different people from different walks of life. I can say with more certainty that I now have more knowledge which ultimately can be used in my everyday encounters, but more importantly will enhance how I will communicate with people in my civilian work.

My life mission is to use my Energy, Sense of Humor and Empathy to Care, Love and Encourage. My world would be better if I am capable of reducing poverty or starvation throughout the world and provide education for the less privileged children because I feel that everyone should be given the right to learn. My world would also be better if the human rights of the blacks are recognised and if there are lesser wars because too many precious lives are sacrificed during wars.
A personal mission statement is a philosophy or creed that one plans to follow in daily life. It is usually designed with positivity, purpose, and with personal goals for every aspect of life such as career, finances, etc. It also focuses on personality traits that one would like to possess and the accomplishments that one wants to achieve, both short-term and long term. It also houses the individuality of the person writing it. Every person writing a personal mission statement is will produce a different statement. This is primarily because people value different things, characteristics and have different goals. The purpose of this paper is to explore my mission statement (Covey, 2013, pp.113).
