My Avocation There are many avocations that I would chose from. But, more specifically, I would aspire to be a unique, “at home style” photographer. Being able to capture simple moments in a strange place like Elsewhere seems so interesting to do. Each day I would grab my camera, go outside, stroll around and observe nature. I would be able to go outside and capture moments of people, the warm sky, or anything that I would want to. The thing is, there are no limits to photography
I rush into my home and run up the stairs to my room. I jump on my bed and roll over to my laptop and open it quickly. I log onto the One Direction site and see that I made it in time to see the bid. I scroll and try and find my name and I see I'm in third place for the tickets and the time is running out. I've already bid $7000 for three tickets and backstage passes. The reason it's so expensive is because these passes are the last set of passes for their concert. 5sos is also playing so we would be meeting two bands and hearing both of them play.
Over my years of school, one big influence on me has always been sports. Ever since a young age, I have always enjoyed playing and watching sports. In my four years in high school, I have fell in love with the sport of lacrosse.
I woke up and took one bite out of my pop tart but that one bite was all I could eat. My legs were shaking, and my heart was pounding. My dad told me, “It is a true honor to even make it this far so go out there and have some fun.” Once I heard this statement, I knew I was ready to go. I arrived at school and boarded the bus. The car ride was an hour and fifteen minutes of hearing the squeaking of the wheel on the bus. My teammates were getting their heads ready for the big game.
Of course the norm for me is that of any citizen living in zone three.

I was incredibly excited. School was starting tomorrow. The first few days were just icebreakers, learning everyone’s names, blah blah blah. Then the real learning began. Of course, teachers started to write our lessons on the board. I started to notice a few changes in what I was seeing. The words they were writing were just...black lines! I didn’t pay much attention to it, I just asked my friends what the board said. As the year went on, it affected me more and more, especially in math. I saw a 2 as a 6, and and an A as an 8.
Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again?
I always wanted to be a professional photographer what I really was interested in was traveling to places around the world take amazing images like the ones I would see in magazines.
My initial perceptions about the students of St. Angela were very stereotypical. Honestly, I expected those students to come from single parent backgrounds and come from a low income household. I expected to deal with students who live life in a survival type of manner. What I mean by survival type of manner is for one to be on defense seeing the type of the children are from the Austin area. Walking in to St. Angela I expected to deal with kids that didn’t listen and know respect for authority. I expected this due to my upbringing in the same neighborhood.
“The Best of Both Worlds” was Hannah Montana`s tagline statement, at the end of my high school career I've finally experienced “the best of both worlds”. Although I didn't wear a blonde wig and perform in front of an audience, I've certainly had my experience with leading a double life. During November of 2016, I`ve become more attentive to patterns, everyday Id walk up the bricks engraved with various names leading to my high school, I finally paid attention to their delicate layout after four years of walking on them. Four years felt like nothing, in fact it is an understatement to say they flew by. I was finally experiencing my last football games and my last (but also first) homecoming dance. During the final act of my high school career,
Some people are born with talents, others with brains, and some with beauty. However, I would like to think I was born with all the above, but most of all I was born with the innate gift of serving others. While growing up as a preacher’s kid, I witnessed my father help others by empowering them, motivating them, and praying for them. Observing how supportive my dad was of others I thought I want to do the same thing, but I knew I did not want to be a preacher. Growing up as a beautician’s daughter, I watched my mother improve others by building their self-esteem, being a listening ear, and sharing knowledge when necessary. I recall looking at my mother thinking I want to be that type of person when I grow up. I lacked the talents and creativity
All my life I have struggled with low self-esteem, letting people chosse for me, stepping back when challenging goals step in front of me, and defiantly letting fear keep me back. I knew I could do more in life but every time I was able to set fear aside, my friends and family stopped me and brought fear back in me. Giving their point of view without any knowledge of how an education will improve my life. That I should stick to a waitress position and work hard like most of my family had. Not having enough money to provide for my two boys, has been my struggle for considering that going to college was never in my view. Being the first one in my family to pursue an education, I was terrified to assist my first appointment
I worked at the same place for two years. Although I had a sense of normalcy, my position changed overnight. I have been promoted from an Ohio Thrift employee to a manager. During my first official day of becoming a manager, I endured multiple tests on what it takes to run a business. Along the way, I acquired responsibility, authority, and knowledge.
My Mom and I are on our way home on a late Sunday afternoon from shopping and soon getting ready for a great family dinner. We call my grandparents, “Hello! How are you doing honey?” They say to my mother as they don’t know I’m in the car and listening.
The way we were raised, or in the community we lived in is the reason why we are the person we are today. As I, Crystal, grew up in a household of two parents, and two older sisters. My childhood consisted of support, love, but mostly being spoiled by my entire family. The house I grew up in was in a neighborhood so friendly, loving neighbors, a place you would want to grow up in. Not a day went by that my sisters and I, and the other kids weren't outside playing, riding bikes everywhere, or simply walking to the elementary park a block away. With that said, I grew up well in a loving community, but with all that going on we had problems within our family. I was about 13 when I found out my parents were fighting and planning on divorce. Before the conflict, my parents decided on building a house outside
