Architecture. My journey is hopefully about to start right here. As a young girl I have constantly been attracted to those tiny details that everybody seems to neglect, I had an interest to look further into things. You could say I viewed things from various angles and tried seeing through them. Almost as if trying to translate their meaning. Quite obviously at such a delicately minded age I was not sure what this interest I had really meant. However, as my mind widened and I was able to produce realistic conclusions, I finally understood. Ultimately figuring it all out, my obsession was revealed. Putting the puzzle together, my nights spent drawing cubes haphazardly and coming up with surprisingly astonishing ideas for buildings I would like to see my trademark around the world, which is only possible by studying architecture, it only drastically grew simultaneously, after increasing my knowledge about this exciting field, leading me to understand what it was all about. I’d also like to introduce the two people that aided me to exceed on this discovery, the parents I am grateful for. However, the most important figure behind my wondrous thought of architecture was my father. Being able to be given the chance to see him be in complete control of a construction site and at the same time creatively coming up with sustainable ideas to complete the site amazed me. Knowing that an architect is the creative mind behind a civil engineers work. Which is exactly what I wanted to be.
I picked this career path because I enjoy drawing. I also enjoy designing and mapping out structures. I find both of these activities to be very peaceful and fun for me. When I was eight years old, I had the biggest set of Legos. I decided to use them all on one huge house. So I sat down, began to build and I even started mapping it out on paper. I spent nearly an entire day building this mansion and of course, when I was done, I showed my mom. When I showed it to her, she was amazed and the next sentence she spoke was one that stuck with me for years. My mom told me I should be an architect. That moment Nine years ago made me realize what I wanted to do in the future. I thought if designing buildings is a career, that’s what I’m going to do. Becoming an architect when I get out of school is a life-long goal of
When it comes to my passion most don’t understand it the way I do. For the past three years my passion has been lacrosse. Since I was a freshman at Sandalwood High School my interests for the sport have grown and my devotion and commitment have reached new limits. Most people don’t understand lacrosse, they just know that it is a sport “with sticks and stuff”, and while I don’t take offense to ignorance; sharing my passion with others is never a burden. Lacrosse is one of the biggest parts of my life as of now and I believe it will continue to be for many years to come, but there’s more to the sport than most people know. Lacrosse has a history behind it older than any other sport in America, as well as the fact that as of now,
I, Deputy Gough received a call reference a white Ford truck driving in the Gamester trailer court all over the roadway. Upon my arrival I spoke with David Vore and Jennifer Vore. Jennifer Stated that Randy was the driver of the white Ford truck that said, “All Good Construction.” David and Jennifer both stated that they saw the truck drive through the yard hitting a slow child at play sign and the stop sign.
This past year, I have been apart of Naperville Central’s brand new Special Spaces club. When my friend approached me and asked me to join, I agreed even though I had no clue what I was involving myself in. In retrospective, I can honestly say that becoming a part of Special Spaces has been one of the most meaningful, fun, and fulfilling experiences I have had in high school.
Over my years of school, one big influence on me has always been sports. Ever since a young age, I have always enjoyed playing and watching sports. In my four years in high school, I have fell in love with the sport of lacrosse.
I woke up and took one bite out of my pop tart but that one bite was all I could eat. My legs were shaking, and my heart was pounding. My dad told me, “It is a true honor to even make it this far so go out there and have some fun.” Once I heard this statement, I knew I was ready to go. I arrived at school and boarded the bus. The car ride was an hour and fifteen minutes of hearing the squeaking of the wheel on the bus. My teammates were getting their heads ready for the big game.
The day had finally came, it was July 21st, 2020. I had been waiting for this day for what seemed like forever! I was beyond excited that of all artists, I was chosen to escort the Interplanetary Ambassador around our world and culture. Once I greeted him at the New York Space Port, I decided to take him to our very own Metropolitan Museum of Art located here in NYC. The ride from the space port to the Museum was a little over two hours and felt like forever. On the way there the Ambassador asked many questions about our clothes, food, money, and many of our everyday things that are around us. Then, out of nowhere he asked me a question that changed my life as an artist completely. He said, “In my planet we have clothes and money and everything that you humans have, but we do not have art. Can you please explain to me what this art thing is?”
The agency I chose to interview was MyHouse at 300 North Willow in Wasilla, Alaska. Their mission is to provide safe shelter for homeless youth with a goal of connecting kids to a network of caring individuals and agencies able to assist them in becoming self-sufficient. They have a board of directors that meet regularly to discuss issues and where to go next with the agency.
Sophomore year of High School we took a trip to New York to visit The Metropolitan Art Museum we spent the full day immersing ourselves in the artwork. It was the trip that would inspire me to become an artist. We arrived to this momentous building with lots of stairs I was eager to be off the bus and see what the museum held for us. We were greeted by our guide and we began our tour which would only be part of this magnificent day. It must have been one of the first things we came across and the most memorable piece not only the artwork that was in front of me but the feeling I felt that day. It was “The Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer” a bronze cast by Edgar Degas it was mixed media of sorts she was wearing a cotton skirt with a satin hair ribbon
Many people have left legacies from when they were alive. Some are good, and some are bad. Those people may not agree with what they have left behind, and some may be perfectly okay with theirs. For me, I would like to leave behind a legacy that shows my family that I was a good person. I would want them to know that I had good intentions for my life and that I wanted to do good for myself and others. In this essay, I will explain what I would like my legacy to be like.
Throughout the conversation, Susan did not inform me that the home was still in First Look and not open to investors at this time. Susan did not highlight any features of the home, nor did she talk about the neighborhood or the surrounding area. When asked, Susan paused to reference the property file and stated, "In looking at the pictures it appears that it needs interior paint, carpet, appliances, and a few windows, which the previous seller must have taken." She stated, "I don't know why they have to remove things from the homes." I asked, "Do you have offers?" She paused to check the property file and answered, "No offers." I asked, "Is the property behind the home farmland?" She paused to reference the property file and replied, "It appears
We human beings are all works of art. Every experience that we have is a new stroke of paint to our canvas. The things that influence us do the same. I am not a completed work of art, but I can show my progress of what makes me. I am influenced by the media, my teachers, and the neighborhoods I lived in. Now here is the showing of my work.
I would be an outstanding student in Spelman College's faculty classes because I am hard worker. My work has always came first even when I had experienced a big transition in my life I didn't allow that to stop me from doing my work. My work was always a outlet for me to express myself and to show my teachers how I really think. For instance, in my English Composition Class we read a poem called "I Want A Wife by Judy Brady" then we read a book named "Fences by August Wilson", and one day we were in class discussing the poem in the book and it shocked my teacher when I made the connection between the two. I thought my teacher made us read "I want a wife" because in the book "Fences" the main character named Troy expected everything in that
After doing my Exploration of Aesthetics Paper last week, I decide to take it a step further. In my exploring the night sounds, it was hard to focus because of the loud sounds of the cicadas. I really didn’t know much about the insects except they come every 17 years and are really loud and everyone I know didn’t like them, so I didn’t because I don’t like bugs. However, a friend of mine posted a video and I watched it on cicadas. It changed my whole view on how I look at the insects at this point. They are beautiful creature and tell a story just like humans. We all have purpose in life and so does the cicadas. They live underground for 17 years. On a warm night they emerge and surface the land. They connect with each other, just like little children wanting to play with their friends after not seeing them for a long time. Then they transform to begin their final life on earth. The process is like giving birth as a human or letting out the lost soul and finding god for the first time. They become adults and search for their mates when shell hardens. Synchronized choir, we all call noise, is their mating call. They are finding love for the first time. They come in all colors, it’s sad watching the video
The lives I would touch for my legacy would be my family and friends because those are the people that care about me and what I do. That they would help me out with anything I need. My major accomplishment would be a pro soccer player and go to Rutgers College. The other accomplishment in my life would be to get very good grades in school to get a good education.
