When ever you’re traveling, you dont really have an adventure if you dont try new things and go to new places then youre not having an adventure. I am going to share some of my favorite activities that I have tried when I went traveling
Austin, Texas ranks among the fittest cities in America. This year, in 2015, the city ranked No. 14. The city has a lot of physical activities and since my dad’s whole side of the family all lives in Austin, we get to visit there almost every year and participate in the many activities that the city provides
The very first time that I went to Austin Texas, I was just about to go middle school. With my parents busy schedule, only my sister and I got to visit our family. One of the first activities that I remember is going to Barton Springs. Barton Springs has a pool about 3 acres in size and is filled with natural, underground springs. The average temperature is 68-70 degrees, which is ideal for year-round swimming. On the other side of the pool, there is a creek that gets its water from the pool. You can wade and swim, in the creek (even with a very strong current) and for a certain amount of money, you can go canoeing in the river that the creek flows

Food trucks is when you park your truck or trailer in a lot and people come to see all the different foods that people cook and sell out of there trailors. My uncle, Charlie, was born and raised in Lebanon and he wanted to become a cook when he was older. He moved to Austin and met my aunt, Emily. They got married and started a catering buisness together. Then, a few years ago, he decided to create his own food truck where he can cook and sell his own Arabic food. Ever since then, his trailor has become locally popular and my family and I always enjoy the free food. All in all, Austin, Texas is a great place to visit and explore. You’ll never know what you will find there. For your next vacation, I would suggest going to Austin
Before my big move to Houston about three years ago for college, it was my last summer back home in a little city called Amarillo, which is considered “West Texas,” although it’s actually located geographically north within the heart of the Texas Panhandle. I was enjoying every last bits of the time that I’ve had left with my friends and family. The last thing I could think of worrying about during that summer was a romantic relationship. My intentions were to make bittersweet memories and to have what they would call, fun. I went out almost every single weekend for the first month of my last summer and met tons of friends and I became closer to old casual friends. Within that first month of consistently going out and hanging out with all these friends that I became close to, I met a very sweet, charming, and interesting guy named Andy. Something about him caught my attention. He was silly and funny without even trying, so I took an interest in him. We started messaging each other on Facebook then texting and making polite conversations. Before I knew it, this was the starting point to a whole new friendship. When he first messaged me, as much as I hesitated to respond to him because I knew I was moving and I did not want to develop feelings just leave everything behind, I wanted to not just respond but to strike more conversations. I became curious about him and I wanted to find out more and more.
The birds, squirrels, and fishes living in tranquility. The daylight there is an early riser, while the night feels like a mother rocking her baby; peaceful. Therefore, the nights are so still that only the beautiful harmony of the crickets could be heard. The green tree looks so alive, they were standing large and stiff. There was even the opportunity of exploring the mountain trails. It was amazing being able to experience something completely different, especially when it was just a few days from starting my junior year. The memories from that trip will be unforgettable.
I grew up in a city named Colorado City, TX – the city is located in Central West Texas. I had a really good friend, that I became best friends with, named Daniel. We went riding our bikes everywhere around this little town, scraping our knees on concrete and crashing our bikes on practically everything (since there was practically nothing to do in this town – this was before the 3M Palace Theatre was reopened).
My mind will often wander to all the places I've lived in and all those I would love to travel to, or visit again. I think of the streets of Santa Fe, how fresh it would be compared to the over 100 degree temperature of were I am now, the hot dry heat of El Paso, Texas, a place I often come back to, the soil were my roots are permanently ingrained. El Paso has grown significantly in the past 10 years alone and is now the sixth most populous city in Texas (World Population Reviw). It's far from it's days when it was widely known as “El Chuco,” or “ChucoTown,” nicknames whose origins and meaning have long been debated, but no matter how much of the new generation is unfamiliar with these terms the history lives on through the streets and current

I was born in El Paso, Texas to Mexican immigrant parents who did their best to raise me and my three siblings. Growing up in El Paso I never even saw myself applying to college, but then my dad made a bold choice to start a career in homeland security and that was when we moved to the DFW area. Ever since we moved to DFW every grade in junior high, i was talked to about college: how to get there, how to pay for it, and how to make it a reality. The thought of going to college never even crossed my mind before coming here. Now as a Senior in high school I'am doing everything in my abilities to make my dreams come true, to go to college and graduate to make my parents proud and prove to them that all their sacrifices haven't gone by without
The most difficult time i have faced was when I moved from Texas. I was born in San Antonio, Texas and I lived there for about 6 years. San Antonio was so much fun just because y enitre famly lived withing 10 minutes of each other. Then, we had to move to Midland, Texas, that move was not very hard just because i was so young so i was not ery attatched to things and people around me, besides my family. We lived in Midland for about 4 years after that and it was my favorite town. The people the energy of the people there was so awesome I loved it. Then one day we got the call that had to move again. We were already pretty far from our family and so to learn that we had to move even farther was devistating. So thats when we had to leave the state
Our yearly pilgrimage to our deer lease in Menard, Texas starts every year on the first Friday in November. To get there we head four hours north thru the sprawling metropolis of San Antonio, full of its traffic and impatient drivers. Upon leaving the city limits of San Antonio, we head west towards Kerrville and the landscape starts to change drastically. No longer are we driving on flat land but now the car is climbing small hills and the road winds. We drive in this direction until we reach the vast acres of ranch land located on a lonely farm road between the small cities of Junction and Menard. If you drive too fast down the winding road, you will miss the old metal gate that is almost hidden by brush trees. My husband is the hunter, yet I love to come with him, because this is the place, where I disconnect from the fast paced life of city dwelling and feel reconnected once again to nature and I find peace and rest here in this cactus and dirt oasis.
11th of January 2015 was my first day in Phoenix, Arizona. It all did begin since I've decided to find a new school that combines great facilities who would be productively able to help me get the best education that would look for and marvelous experience as an international student. Arizona State University was on my list of well-located and well-organized universities. I just moved from Indiana State last Spring semester which was quite fascinating and awesome since I kind of hated Indiana because of how boring it was back there despite the fact that I love how cold Indian is. I have yet spent almost 9 months in here, and everything seems extremely excellent in here.
Over the past two years I have taken 2 trips with the Utah 4-h. One of the trips was to Denver Colorado for a national competition from winning with my team at state in the consumer bowl. Just recently I went Washington D.C. for a Maker Summit which targets teaching teenagers and the STEM program. On these trips I missed multiple days of school. From doing this I experienced setbacks in my classes and risked failing a few important classes at the end of the term. This became an issue that I needed to solve quick. The end of the term was weeks away and the mounds of homework became mountains. I made a plan of action and broke down the piles of homework and worked hard to manage my time and complete all the assignments. Doing this brought many
Have you ever been to Dallas Texas, I have, and it was fun. Me and my family came. We stayed there for a week, at my aunt's house. It was very beautiful where she lived, trees all around, the sun shined early morning.
This summer, I went to Kansas City with Noah from the Bible story “Noah’s Arc.” We road tripped to Kansas City to go to the museums, eat barbeque, and go to Worlds of Fun. The car ride was two hours long and very enjoyable. We talked about how he fit all the pairs of animals in his huge boat, and how he had to shave his beard so the paparazzi would stop following him around. Noah, being an elderly male and not open to change, was very irritable about the paparazzi and his newly shaven face. Thankfully, music cheered him up. We listened to our favorite 60s and 70s rock songs the whole car ride and about how incredible it was of Noah to put all his faith in God when he told him to build an arc. We talked about how much courage he needed in order to actually embark on that adventure for God. Noah acted like it was no big deal and things like that happen all the time. I knew this was not true and continued to talk about his triumph in amazement.
Every year the cross-country team has a trip up to Colorado for team building and altitude training. I have gone on these trips with my team every year and the time I spent with my team in Colorado makes up a large portion of my best memories of high school. The trip is mean to be an amalgam of challenges and fun experiences, and I feel like I can fully enjoy the entertaining parts of the trip because I know that I have also worked hard the remainder of the time. Driving in a van for hours to get to Colorado can get boring, but we usually find some way to make it fun with music and games that the team brings along. Colorado is too far to make it in one day, so after the first day of driving we stop in a valley in New Mexico for the night. That
One amusing thing I have done this summer was traveling to Chicago. It took several hours to reach Chicago. I traveled with my mom and dad plus my two brothers and I. First we went to a museum. Then we went to the Shell Aquarium. They took a couple of hours each. We ate McDonalds there for dinner. I had a 10 piece chicken nugget with fries and a coke. After that my family traveled home. Over all it was a very exciting trip.
Every second I thought, “One second closer to the game,” but then I remembered, “We still have three hours to go.” We were driving, and Brayden, my brother, would name every license plate that passed by, as I was sitting in the back surrounded by luggage that felt like bricks. On the way there, we had to stop, what felt like 100 times. We were in a town and we had to stop to get gas, when Brayden yelled, “Hawaii license plate!” and it was a bright red Prius in the far lane that was speeding by on its way to Kansas City. We were halfway to our annual road trip to Kansas City and then I took a nap for two hours and awoke when we were in the large city of Kansas City.
