Personal Opinion: George Washington

There are many reasons why I think George Washington was the best president. He did a lot of stuff in his presidency he was the first president of the united states, unanimously elected presidents, he was un he was the one who said the bill of rights should be in the constitution, and he created his cabinet. To begin with, he was the first president and he was unanimously elected. In the year 1789 and 1792 he received all the electoral college votes. Both times no one ran against him for presidency.

Ranking things like music, movies, and sports is a common hobby and ranking Presidents is no exception. To rank the first four Presidents of the United States can be very controversial. Each of the Presidents made successes but some had been involved with more conflicts than the others. Although many might disagree, the first four Presidents of the United States ranked best to worst are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, then John Adams. It may be cliche to say, but George Washington should be considered best of the first four presidents of the United States.

The colonies faced insurmountable odds when the American Revolution began, but were able to successfully overcome the most powerful army and navy in the world through contributions such as George Washington’s extraordinary qualities, having knowledge of the lay of the land, gaining foreign assistance, and having the colonist support the cause.

There is a clear reason why George Washington is the best out of the first four Presidents. He is quite possibly one of the best. He was really the one who pushed our nation to heights that were thought to have been impossible to reach. He also put out laws and regulations that balanced the government, and benefitted the people. There are good reasons as to why Jefferson, Madison, and Adams cut it close that will eventually be touched on.

        This magnificent man was our first president. He was the first born child of his mother but not his father. His father was Augustine Washington, but had two other boys and one girl with his former wife Jane Butler who died in 1730. Augustine remarried  Mary Ball in 1731 and on February 22, 1732 they had George Washington. In 1743 Augustine died and left Mary to take care of all the children they had together and the children he had with Jane.  He had a total of ten children. George was only eleven when his father died and had to look up to his older half brother Lawrence for guidance. Lawrence tutored and tried to give George as much of an education he could. Society turns to powerful leaders for guidance in times of uncertainty. Especially after the American Revolution, the people needed a leader to mollify the concerns entailing their newfound independence. They needed a president who could guide them like a king without creating a power vacuum, who could lead with respect without becoming corrupt, and who could put the future of the country beyond his own desires; America’s future was reliant on a leader who had these qualities. Luckily, the first president, George Washington, acted as the “good king” America heavily needed.

There have been over 40 presidents in the history of the United States. There have been 43 presidents to be exact. Of these 43 Presidents of the United States, there are only about 15 of whom the average American might know. However, the most famous of these Presidents are George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
