They have to understand that everybody is different, where one might just want to lose weight, while another is trying to add muscle and strength. There are a wide variety of special populations that require a vast amount of knowledge to understand how to program and tailor workout programs to. In recent years there has been more prevalence in regards to certifications and requirements needed to become a personal trainer. More and more gyms and fitness centers are recognizing these agencies as the top notch certifying agencies that they want trainers to have. Never the less, personal training can be a very rewarding career choice where trainers get to help people reach goals and travel along that journey with them. With that said, higher standards need to be held for trainers within the industry so that there are a set of guidelines that all trainers are held to. Personal training is difficult job. Many of the clients who begin exercise programs do not continue with their programs for a variety of reasons. As said by (Melton et. al, 2010) Of those who do adopt an exercise program, it is estimated that 50% will discontinue it within the first 6 months, making exercise adherence a critical issue. It is clear that factors related to adherence are complex, but 1 important factor is a client 's feeling of support from the activity leader. The
The profession that I am interested in is an Athletic Trainer. I have chosen this career because it is something that I have recently become passionate about within the last two years. I have never been the kind of person to struggle with weight, however after having my 3rd and last child, weight has become an issue. I mention my personal struggle to give insight on why I have chosen an Athletic Trainer. This profession’s main goal is physical fitness. As a trainer you become responsible for another person’s physical active lifestyle. Assisting clients from injury to recovery, evaluating their bodies and advising the individual what is best. As the famous bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, “Training gives us an outlet for suppressed energies created by stress and thus tones the spirit just as exercise conditions the body.” During my 3 years of training, I learned much about what it takes to make an out of shape person to a healthy and fit person with just the right decisions and knowledge. For instance, I learned the importance of consistency, in which in order to be actively fit and healthy, there must be consistency. As a young fitness fanatic, I

This behavior change project has become a huge part of my everyday life. I lost sight of how important staying in shape affects my overall mental state along with my physical well-being. Having a life that consists of so many activities such as going to school, working, and maintaining a full and happy relationship with the people I care about is hard to balance with just making time for myself. That is why keeping this three day a week workout regime over the past five weeks has been so important; it made me realize that I can make time to focus on just working on myself, and in turn, improve all other aspects of my life. Realizing of course that there are many people in this world that have real life health problems that they seek professional help for. These changes in their lives require a system or a theory that must be applied to develop a strategic an organized way to regulate or change their behavior.
Personal trainers are one of the areas that help with marketing. Having a good amount of certified. expert level trainers, and the satisfaction or results a client gets, help with a word of mouth. Having a good word of mouth brings in new customers which mean new members, bringing in more profit. It is also advertising the personal trainer who had trained that person. The member refers the new person to a trainer and the personal trainers get more clientele, more money/hours, and the facility generates more money too. Also personal trainers can advertise themselves on social media, the walls of the facility or gym- “learn about the staff” or “know our trainers” or advertise in the community. Having exposure is a way to bring in people for you,

“Come on! It’s simple, just get up off your butt and stop eating so darn much,” a common phrase used when with addressing modern obesity. Yet, this fairly recent epidemic continues to plague and destroy around 93 million Americans (The Issue). Although, with Michael Obama’s “Let’s Move” Campaign making a head wave, the hope for a healthy tomorrow has been restored in the hearts of many Americans. Along those same lines it seems that these days you cannot turn on the TV or Radio without seeing an ad for this Gym or that weight lost supplement. Such items and services also suggest that we as individuals can exercise and never worry about the big, bad condition known as obesity. With all these resources,
It is believed that the first athletic trainers were present in the Greek and Roman civilizations. Although life then was not as we know it to be today, these trainers also worked with coaches and physicians to help athletes reach their full potential. In 1950, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association was established in Kansas City, Missouri with 101 college athletic trainers. Later, in 1970, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification was established in order to create entry level standards for athletic trainers. Today, athletic training is a widely growing field and is projected to grow “faster than average” in the next couple of years.
There are several interventions that correlate with increased physical activity, goal-setting, self-monitoring, and feedback. Several studies have examined the
To begin, Maniac would be a perfect athletic trainer because he is very athletic. He shows his athleticism when he plays football in the gym class he can catch a ball punt the ball and is very fast.As in this quote “... he turned and punted the ball. It sailed back over the up-looking gym-classers, spiraling more perfect than anything Brian Denehy had ever thrown...”Another characteristic of an Athletic Trainer is compassion. Maniac also shows lots of compassion when he helps Amanda get Hester and Lester in the bath. You need compassion to be an Athletic Trainer because people don’t want to have an Athletic Trainer that is very merciless, and doesn’t want to work with you.You also need to be athletic to be an Athletic Trainer
"It's difficult when those you work with don't understand what your role is," Walker said. "Then you have to take the time to explain the whole situation. Even the name, 'athletic trainer,' can be deceiving because it doesn't describe what we do."
When you decided to become a personal trainer, you did it because you wanted to help people achieve their fitness goals and live a healthier life. You did it for the love of it. You care about people and want to help them succeed.
Also, clients need to understand being able to establish a great workout routine will take more than physical strength; it is more so about mental mindset, dedication, and perseverance. We all know it can be a hassle getting into a certain routine and it is even more difficult trying to start a healthier lifestyle.
Across the United States, seventy-eight million adults and thirteen million children are fighting the health and emotional effects of obesity. Current research trends suggest that by the year 2030, fifty-one percent of the U.S. population will be obese. Many people believe that the only way to combat obesity is to increase physical activity levels in all ages. The issue is that while obesity rates have skyrocketed over the last thirty years, physical activity levels have increased as well. The solution to the United States’ obesity epidemic lies in the education of its citizens on the importance of dieting. Although physical activity has many health benefits, it is not as efficient as dieting is to combat obesity and aid overweight individuals
