Improvement takes time, effort, and often times late nights. Many evenings I have labored overtime to improve myself. Often times staying awake till midnight to ensure that my daybook notes were the definition of perfection or even adding an extra paragraph to my essays to ensure that it would support my thesis. In English class, I explored my ability to read literature, writing essays, collaborating on discussions, and most importantly, learning. Regardless of my extensive background in each of these areas, I recieved the opportunity to expand and develop my skills more in some way as a reader, a writer, a collaborator, and especially a learner. Perfection is not always attainable, yet I should strive for the best adaption of my work. I actually enjoyed writing the essay, because I could express my ideas in a different perspective and language. I realized that I failed to print off the last few pages of my essay after it was graded. This caused me some disappointment, especially since I was unable to show the full spectrum of my writing abilities. Above this miniature glitch, I was content with the overall picture and the turnout of my essay. Writing an essay on Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Scarlet Letter developed a different direction in writing for me. I learned how to incorporate text from a fictional book to support my opinion of the essay. In supporting my thesis, I scribbled so many great ideas that I developed an impetuous style for writing. Despite my great ideas in my essay, I found it quite disorganized and it needed extreme help. To develop my paragraphs of this essay, I excised sentences frequently and transferred them to different areas of my topic sentences. By doing so, I created an essay that was conducive to my thesis and organized to create a piece of written work that is
