The colleague is currently enrolled in this program. He gave me some insight on how this program works and how well it works around his professional schedule. This conversation proved to be more beneficial and more insightful to me than any of the researching at had previously done. In fact, I feel God has personally led me on this journey and has directed me down this path to your institution. Bethel is a part of my community and this education could help me better that community in the future. Having seen and worked along-side several God-fearing men and women, most of them hold a common ground, and that is that they themselves chose Bethel University as their professional beacon and I look forward to forming that relationship with you as
Staring down at the baby; my baby in his little plastic box, I was overcome by a fear I had never felt before. I would later find out that his box was called and isolate, a special bed for premature babies. His eyes were covered with gauze, he had a tube in his nose that was assisting his breathing, and he was so small. Awestruck, I watched his slight movements. His mouth moved as if he was searching for something. His tiny hands grasped for something to hold on to. I slowly reached my finger to his hand and he clutched it with all of his little might. His grasp sent shock waves of love through my body that I had never experienced in my life. I was a mother.

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. “ Those words, spoken by Confucius, represent the goal of not only mine, but many others when it comes to finding your true calling. The voyage to find your purpose in life can be quite difficult. Often times this journey proves too challenging and forces an individual to give up all together and instead settle for something easier to obtain and inferior to their original goal. This can commonly lead to feelings of unfulfillment and regret in the choices you have made. It’s not until you find your true calling that you go from thinking about your job as something that you have to do to something that you love doing.
After my completion at Dorsey I would like to further my career at St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center. I feel as though I will be the perfect fit to complement the requirements to be a Medical Assistant at St. Josephs. As well the St. Joseph's founders helping hands reminds me of my past and those who helped me. Therefore St. Josephs history shows me that being a Medical Assistant is more than what it seems and is a passion that I hope to follow at St. Joseph.
A Physician's Assistant is one of the most overlooked careers in the health care professional, most people generally assume that one they are just another doctor or two not qualified enough to help them and flat out refuse to be treated. Both generalizations are false, a physician’s assistant works under the license of a physician and are certified nationally and licensed by the state, also they are qualified to examine and diagnose patients, as well as issue treatment and prescriptions. Though duties are specific to the working environment, experience and specialty a PA is skilled enough to offer patients quality care which is similar to a physician.
A Medical assistant is cross-trained to perform a variety of task in a medical office like, clinical and administration duties. However some skills that an MA do are being threaten due to advance technology. This is like an online doctor visit. It is not necessary to go to the doctor’s office if you have access to internet for some situations or to save money. Problem with this is that the MA does not need to be there on the visit through the online visit with the patient. This is where the MA skills are threatened because:
“Everything happens for a reason;” a quote that is told to people as a way to ease the discomfort of an uncomfortable situation. Although the phrase is vague and cliché I have often found solace in it during my pursuit of becoming a physician assistant. The first instance where it was of great relevance was the day that I had lost one of my closest friends at the time to an undiagnosed case of appendicitis that ruptured. I was in sixth grade at the time and this experience encouraged me to mature and pursue life with a purpose. As I entered high school I used this tragedy to excel both academically and as a person. Upon entering college I knew that I wanted to enter the healthcare field but it wasn’t until several learning experiences later I realized that becoming a physician assistant would allow me to provide care in a way that best fit my personality and goals for a career in medicine.
Tynan statement, “…you’ll have to push yourself hard to work even when you don’t like it” resonates with me. I have always been a fairly decent student, tried my hardest in all my classes, but for some reason without fail Algebra and I have never connected. For as long as I can remember I have struggled with math, it’s always been my weak link in school. I know may people enjoy math, but to me it’s a lot of work. Now I am having to relearn Algebra and I don’t like it, but in order to achieve my goal of becoming a physician assistant this is the course I must stay. Maybe Tynan is right and by the end of this I will have learned to love math.
It is important to become nationally credentialed medical assistant for many reasons. The main reason is reassurance in the field or career. You go to school and get recognized for what you have learned and been trained on. By this not only will the health practice or coworkers you work for will be able to trust you fully on your responsibility as a medical assistant, but the patients will also be able trust you with their health. It will also help you feel more comfortable on performing the duties without being supervised at all times. Without a doubt employability and pay will also can play an important role. When listing your certification on your resume they will be higher chances of getting called for an interview and the pay will be higher due to the education or training you will have.
I have danced around with the many options in the medical field since high school, from paramedic to forensic pathologist and everything in between. I decided on medical assisting because I see it as a step towards other possibilities, a foot in the door to see what I enjoy and will want to do in the future. Medical Assistance have a wide working spectrum and are in many medical areas such as a family clinic, pediatrics, and plastic surgery. Because my goal is a forensic pathologist or autopsy assistant I want to be a medical assistant in plastic or general surgery because I believe it will be a wonderful step towards my goal. As a medical assistant you are held to a high standard of professionalism because the situations you will be working
Ever since as I remember my childhood I have always dreamed to work in the medical field and be the part of the solution when it was about helping people. As I was growing up I read a lot of medical literature and magazines that fascinated me more and I strongly decided to take medical field track. During the primary school and a high school period I have always volunteered and offered my help to the nursing staff and even some of my pears were more comfortable to speak about some health issues with me. However I have always suggested seeking a professional opinion. Consequently in my mind was always that thought that I would like to know more about and around medicine.
A multitude of events have affected my life, but not all of them have been accomplishments, some have been hardships that have changed my character greatly. When I was fourteen, just a few days after Christmas, my father collapsed at work and was rushed to the hospital. There, doctors discovered that he had a brain tumor which had been pressing on his brain stem, ultimately leading to his seizure. Over the past few years, he has gone through a cycle of treatment and remission, all the while experiencing a steep decline in mental health. With everything my parents were going through, I found myself being forced into adulthood much faster than I ever anticipated, before I even had a driver’s license. Instead of worrying about midterms, I found
