1. In terms of values and goals it is important to know, my goals in this profession would be to impact the lives of others; as well as to be able to help or assist to the best of my abilities. Another goal I have is, to inspire or make in difference in some ones life. Although I am aware that I am not capable of changing or impacting every ones life whose path I cross, my goal is to try to achieve them. On the other hand, my values are similar to the values addressed in the book. For instance, “being sensitive to the feelings of others; practicing self control; being open honest and genuine; self awareness and finding satisfaction in ones work.” (Corey, Corey page 41) These values are important to know in my opinion, because, each value is a quality that every help profession should obtain in order to be effective. I believe following these values will prepare me for what’s to come.
2. There are many similarities that my family and I have in common along with a few differences. The similarities are, we are friendly and open to meeting or forming new relationship with people. For example, we have family game nights; on those nights sometimes outsiders are invited such as, friends significant others etc. The most recent game night a neighbor that the family has not met before joined in and we treated them the same, everyone spoke to them plus insured that they felt comfortable since they never experienced a game night with us before. Another similarity is we like to help
I completed my BS in Human Services in March 2015. Since that time, I have been researching many colleges fluctuating between the MSW, MFT and Mental Health Counseling degrees. I consider my graduate school decision to be a positive life-altering decision requiring much thought, and research. After an extensive amount of research, and phone conversations, I have decided to pursue a Masters in Marriage Family, and Counseling Therapy.
I believe that education; preparation and planning are keys to success. My vision is to apply those principles to my work ethic and applies my knowledge and skills to my professional performance. Therefore, better my workplace delivering excellence in results and stand out as a leader. I strongly believe that the most important part of a business is its people, and example is the best way to express an effective organizational culture.
All families are distinctive, but several have several of the same qualities. After watching the television show, Parenthood, I discovered that my family is a lot like one of the families in the show, the Bravermans. Both families are similar and one example is that we take on an appearance of having it all together, when in reality we are extremely dysfunctional. Not to mention, we are comparable in ways that the characters from the show resemble members of my family, and how both families respond to tragedy. Seeing connections to another family are constant reminders for me that we are all analogous in some way, shape, or form.
When I think of my career goals, I ask myself what I want to accomplish in life. I know that I love helping patients and families, and I want to continue to do that. I always am changing my mind on what I want to do after my BSN. I don’t know when or if I will get my masters or continue to work at the bedside for a while. I love what I do and what I do for other people and families. Working in the critical care unit feels like home. I get to do what I love.
“Sport is the force that unites and empowers us to be better, no matter how you look, what you believe or what language you speak.” These words of Olympian Simone Biles illustrate my life-long passion for sports and the science behind it. I had been an athlete all my life and planned on continuing my track and field career at the collegiate level before a critical injury switched my focus from athletics to academics. When I began my studies at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, I knew my future would involve helping athletes grow to their fullest potential in strength, athleticism, and overall health. Having majored in Health Science with a focus in Health and Wellness Promotion and a minor in Nutrition, I would now like to concentrate on Strength and Conditioning.
Other than myself, my family is comprised of two sisters, a mother, and a father. We share many characteristics, but we’re not identical. For example, we may share some physical similarities, but our personalities contradict quite a bit. We do live in the same house, so all our differences mesh. But, in the end, we get along pretty well. The members of my family have distinct qualities, so not all of them are the same.
Throughout my professional career, I have had the privilege of leading, supervising and managing teams on many occasions. In each case, it was incumbent upon me to inspire and empower a group of individuals to work together, and obtain the cooperation of many contributing offices and subject-matter experts to ensure the success of a given project or service initiative. My experience as a liaison professional, coupled with my personal diplomacy skills, enabled me to communicate clearly and effectively, negotiate differences, and achieve consensus on a regular basis.
Growing up in rural Oklahoma, I have been involved in mission trips, Oklahoma’s Project under 21 program, Crossfit, and local community child care centers. Being involved in my community, I have been able to maintain professional relationships by communicating effectively with compassion and patience. This enabled me to stress the importance of daily dietary and hygiene needs and its impact on overall general health. These experiences have instilled a passion in me, which ultimately led me to pursue a career in the dental field. I learned more about the field soon after working with those community child care centers. I researched dental hygiene as a potential career by exploring articles on the internet,
I want to improve my current piano playing skills by advancing at least two levels and be confident in playing in front of a large audience.
I strongly believe that everyone should have access to a high quality education and to have the opportunity to academically develop to their full potential. With each decade we enter a new era of globalization, and our classrooms are becoming increasingly diverse. My main goal as an educator is to provide students from all cultural and linguistic backgrounds with tools to support their intellectual, social, cultural, and emotional development.
Selecting me as a candidate for SPREP, will not only benefit me, but benefit the others around me, even the teachers. The qualifications for this program include a student with a strong interest in medicine, a mature personality, a maintenance of an 80% average, and an ethnic background. Luckily, by choosing me as a candidate, I have all of these attributes and many more which will prove my candidacy an excellent decision.
I feel like it’s about time I actually made a personal mission statement rather than just winging it like I usually do. Usually if asked what my goals are in life i would just say whatever came to mind which wasn’t to blow anyone off, it was because up until this year I hadn’t really started thinking about it. Of course I wanted the generic things everyone else wanted like to live the american dream but i didn’t really have anything separating me from others.
My personal values act as a basis for determining right and wrong in my daily life. My life, my parents, my husband and my children have all played valuable roles in the development of my core values. The following is an ever changing personal ethics creed, that I plan on using to help guide me in my endeavors.
A personal mission statement is a philosophy or creed that one plans to follow in daily life. It is usually designed with positivity, purpose, and with personal goals for every aspect of life such as career, finances, etc. It also focuses on personality traits that one would like to possess and the accomplishments that one wants to achieve, both short-term and long term. It also houses the individuality of the person writing it. Every person writing a personal mission statement is will produce a different statement. This is primarily because people value different things, characteristics and have different goals. The purpose of this paper is to explore my mission statement (Covey, 2013, pp.113).
In addition to my mission statement, my core life values are the foundation of my mission statement, which allows me to uphold my promises and standards. These promises and standards will afford me the opportunity to improve the life of others and myself for the better. Therefore, there are four particular core values that I live by each and every day. The four values are commitment, compassion, dedication, and optimism. The first core value, commitment, embodies the theme of loyalty and honor. I work hard each day to live up to the promises that I make to finish tasks, help others, and meet the expectations that I place on myself or by others. The second core value that I live by is compassion because I wholeheartedly believe in being kind to everyone and helping those in need. The third value that I live by is dedication. Along with the previous two values, dedication is an important factor because being dedicated to someone or something allows a person to display that person’s character of being steadfast and passionate—even in the face of adversity. The fourth and final value that is a foundation for my personal mission is
